The Hotel Wilshire - Los Angeles

The Hotel Wilshire was very nice. It was modern and had all the amenities we were looking for on a leisurely trip to LA. The rooftop bar was always active, and even though we were in the heart of the city, the Wilshire took you away and you felt like you were somewhere different.

This was my first visit to the hotel and I would definitely go back. I booked a junior suite with a king bed and the room was huge! There was a very spacious separate sitting area - perfect for drinks before heading out. Also, the room was SPOTLESS. But the thing that most impressed me was how friendly everyone was. I was carrying some presents to a […] friend's room on another floor and a staff member carrying an empty ice bucket stopped to ask if he could help me. Also, they have a fair amount of security due to the rooftop bar and all the security guards were nice. One suggestion: if you need to sleep before 1 or 2 am, ask for a lower floor. I was on 6 and could hear the rooftop music and also the people leaving the bar to take the elevator down. I didn't mind because I was awake anyway plus security was keeping this under control. Also, after the bar closed, it was silent. But it would be quieter on a a lower floor. Mehr

I will most likely return as this is a super stylish hotel. I have had a "hotel home" in LA for many years but it is growing very tired. I only have one complaint - no Starbucks (or similar coffee house) nearby.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Good location for access to downtown & other areas - if you have a car... Not much (other than LACMA) in the immediate vicinity if you are walking. The shower could be a little stronger, but other than that I was very happy for the 3 night stay.

Just an excellent experience this past trip at the Hotel Wilshire. From check-in to check-out, a smooth and satisfying experience. They understand who their market is, to whom they are catering to - and they do it very well. Rooms on the smaller side, but very well appointed for the new century - great flat-panel gigh-def with complete suite of satellite […] channels - sleek and modern look to the entire living environment - very cool. Enjoyed just staying in my room for awhile and chilling - which is rare for me. Valet is a snap and the front desk team (thanks, Tommy!) proved they would go the extra mile for me. As a business traveler, I like to book the smaller boutique hotels - this experience justifies that approach. Very much appreciate all the little things they do...you will, too! I stayed the junior suit 602, cozy and clean room. Bath tub was really nice. In addition, roof-top restaurant and pool was excellent.

Great Hotel. Convenient location if you have business in Beverly Hills. Not many great things to do within walking distance from the hotel. However, the upstair dinning area is unbelievable. I would highly recommend the hotel and will probably go there again next time I'm traveling to BH.

We were pleasantly surprised by the modern furnishings and sleek styling. The room was on the small side for sure, but very clean and cozy to put your feet up after a day of sight-seeing. The bed was the only real negative, unless you enjoy sleeping on concrete!! Seriously...the mattress was way too firm and I woke up with sore backs both nights. The […] roof-top lounge had a spectacular 360-degree view, with a pool and decent menu. Location was also excellent as you are only minutes away by car to Rodeo Drive, Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel....especially if they upgrade their mattresses. Recently stayed at the Hotel Wilshire over Oscar weekend. While no doubt the hotel was fully booked, it was very quiet and a great place to relax. It has the same quality as the W but not the noise or "scene". Fantastic rooftop pool and bar area, great views of the hollywood hills and downtown. I really loved the surrounding neighborhood, very clean […] area of town. It is close to great shopping areas such as The Grove/Farmers Market, Fairfax, La Brea, and the Beverly Center. It is a few minutes drive (straight shot down wilshire) to Beverly Hills, and Downtown is really easy to get to. My only complaint is that I didn't love the bed. Overall very friendly staff, great service, & good location, all at the right price. Mehr

The Hollywood sign is off in the distance. The rooftop restaurant and bar are a great place to start your evening, and I'm sure a great pool scene in the warmer weather.

This hotel is a bargain for the price. It was completely remodeled in the fall of 2011. The interior design is exquisite. Everything is of the highest quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. I don't see why anyone would give it less than a 5-star rating.

I was attending an event at LACMA, and found this hotel based on proximity. I was delighted by the modern design and had a great stay with terrific friendly service. The hotel room itself was beautiful, I loved the foggy glass between the shower and the room itself. Fun modern design, great in-room amenities like fluffy bathrobes and a fun corner built […] in chaise lounge. I loved the fact that Wi-Fi was free of charge. The immediately surrounding neighborhood is not all that interesting, but it is located convenient to major roads and easy to access the 405. Mehr

The Wilshire Hotel is really a hidden gem in the west Hollywood area. It is very close to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and is a perfect place to stay if you are waiting for day surgery or other out-patient procedures. The hotel management should contact C-S and have the hotel placed on their recommended list.

Very nice, clean, quiet place to stay. The only thing I can say was that the bed was wrapped in something that was crunchy?? maybe some sort of a mattress protection that made it a little noisy otherwise great place. The food at the restaraunt was very good the service was fair. Very nice and attractive but they all seemed to be new. I'm sure that will […] get better. Mehr

Clean contemporary and fun, the hotel Wilshire is an affordable option w some real pluses . Their roof top pool , bar and fire pit offers a broad view of the surrounding West Hollywood neighborhoods and Hollywood Hills. The hotel was beautiful, modern, and comfortable. Less than a block away from LACMA. I would stay again.

I booked this hotel on hotels.com and had no idea how amazing it would be. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are designed with every comfort in mind. The restaurant and bar on the rooftop was a complete surprise. Didn't think I would find such a place on Wilshire Blvd. Have to try their "Arnold Palmer" as it was the best I have ever had. Beautiful rooftop bar that is a surreal experience at sunset. Centrally located to all parts of Los Angeles.

Location was perfect for our 1 night in LA. About 4 miles from Hollywood action, close to Beverly Hills, quiet enough to sleep at night. My only complaint was that the hall walls were a little thin and you could hear other rooms shutting their doors. Front desk and Valet staff friendly and professional.

For the price this is a great hotel. I enjoyed my stay and will be returning on my next trip. They have a great roof top pool and bar. I love the wilshire!

Elevator was not working to the rooftop bar and pool so guests had to use service stairs. Clumsy signs and post it notes notified guests to a hidden stairwell. Rooms were small but comfortable, TV NEEDS ESPN!!! Most important, ESPN needs to be available. I didn't try the restaurant or roof due to stairs, I ate and drank at another establishment. Loved it and for the price you will not find another hotel of the same caliber.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Wilshire at 6317. The rooms were spacious, with lots of storage space, the beds and the pillows very comfortable and the staff very nice and efficient. The only complaint we have is being charged $18 for a glass of wine on the rooftop. Too bad because it's beautiful up there and lovely to sit and enjoy the view, but at […] that price one cannot do it very often. Mehr

this is a brand new hotel, which comes with perks and disadvantages. they are still figuring it out... the restaurant is great- really tasty. they are still working out the kinks for room service. all in all they it still needs some finessing.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in this new hotel just outside Beverly Hills in Mid City. The hotel is really nice and modern and because it is so new, everything is spotlessly clean. The room was great with a lovely comfortable big bed. The room itself didn't have much of a view but the roof terrace with pool and bar/restaurant was wonderful with fantastic […] views of LA. The one problem we found with the room was that the fridge did not work properly so nothing stayed cold in it and it also seemed to overheat externally and consequently the contents of the safe above it became very hot. The location is very central for getting to most of the sights but I would recommend having a car to get around. Unfortunately the hotel charges $26 a day parking though which is pretty standard for LA hotels. Some of the staff on reception seemed a bit lacking in local knowledge and recommendations, I suppose because the hotel had not been open for very long. Overall a very nice hotel and we had a great time in LA. I would definitely recommend it. Mehr

Stayed here with my girlfriend. Perfect location, near museums and Hollywood. Rooftop pool and restaurant is romantically located. Contemporary feel, inside and out. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nicely finished adaptive re-use of a class-B office building. Very modern, boutique styling. Fresh finishes and friendly competent staff. Room size was cozy but not oppressive. Nice pool, no gym (hotel has agreement with LA Fitness three blocks away which was closed when we were there) very close to LACMA & Peterson Car Museum, and (long) walkable […] to Third Avenue Farmers Market & The Grove shopping street. Great hotel at a very reasonable price. Staff very helpful. Good for relaxing or good for a base for busy sight-seeing. Need to be organised with transport as everything in LA is quite spread out. I'd definitely stay there again.

The hotel and room were absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great with a spectacular shower. The location was perfect. It is so close to LACMA, Peterson Auto Museum and the Farmer's Market. All staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The valets were especially nice and even offered us a bottle of water […] when we got in from our long trip. That was a very nice touch. The only minor complaints I would have with the hotel itself were that we could never find a way to get the refrigerator in our room to actually get cold and when we opened it the first time somebody's half drunk bottle of water was already in it. The rooftop pool, fire pit, cabanas, bar and restaurant were even more beautiful than the rest of the property. This is however the source of a real complaint. We had dinner at the restaurant one night. There are approximately 10 tables and half of them were empty. There were at least 9 bartenders, servers, hosts, busboys, etc. Yet somehow the service was incredibly slow and absolutely indifferent. That is actually not 100% true. The busboys were excellent. When our food finally arrived, the chicken was pink in the middle and all of the food was so salty it was almost inedible. We were in a hurry to catch a movie and had already waited so long that we just ate what we could and left. The extremely helpful and efficient woman at the front desk explained that the restaurant is leased out to another company. So they are not Hotel Wilshire personnel. It really showed. Mehr
