King Grand Boutique Hotel - Phnom Penh

Great services. My room is small, offered to upgrade but I like view so keep the whole stayed for 2 weeks. Very friendly staffs and pernonels. Negotiate for rates to fair value. Owner and manager are always around to assure your comfort.

Excellent and courteous staff. Allowed early check-in and late checkout. Convenient location. The hotel staff was very helpful and accomodating. The negative is that rooms are very tiny with insufficient outlets. Will stay again if visiting the area.

Our arrival at the hotel would have been improved had we not been expecting a "Twin bed room with furnished balcony" which was the basis for our choice of hotel. NO SUCH ROOM EXISTS!. Perhaps a closer liason between Hotels.com and hotel management would prevent disappointment in future.

Only but thing about this hotel are the stairs. Rooms are big, clean and beautiful. Location is perfect. Don't miss the pool at the roof.

The reception staff are very good and extremely attentive. There are some logistical problems with the lay out. For example if you are on the new side of the hotel you can only take the elevator to the 4th floor. You then get out and carry your luggage up a few steps then out to a walk way and then up a flight of stairs to the 5th floor! This is a little […] wierd! It is however perfectly located and only blocks from the Grand Palace and Museum. The breakfast was ok, not much variety. The friendliness of the staff would bring us back. Mehr

Rooms are quite small and corridors very narrow. Pool are is really small but not too crowded. The other pool at the entry level is slightly bigger. Breakfast includes coffee/tea, juice, fresh fruits, bread/pastry and omelets. The tuk tuk drivers are a pain in the butt in front of the hotel. The location of the hotel is good and staff is very friendly […] and helpfull. In Phnom Penh remember to book your airport taxi at least 3hours in advance, we nearly missed our flight because we did not know this. Mehr

lovely roof top plunge pool with fantastic view of royal palace and riverside.nice cocktails good breakfast spread ,overall a enjoyable stay.

Modern amenities with state of the art room lock/security system. But my hotel room was TINY-- could barely move around. The rooftop pool area was also quite small. The worst was that the hotel advertises itself as not having children as guests, but I saw and heard as many kids as adults. Fortunately, most were cute. 20 minute walk to downtown harborfront. […] The saving grace was the staff friendliness and the marvelously delicious breakfast next to the ground floor wading pool. Overall a good hotel,but we did not like the breakfast. The food just didn't taste very good and my boyfriend tried to order a cappucino both mornings but never got any coffee or explenation. We also booked our journey to siem reap through the hotel tour guide. We asked if we would get a good bus and he confirmed that. The bus we got was falling apart,overloaded […] and with a reckless driver. We were told we would be picked up at the bus station in siem reap by a driver. This did not happen. Mehr

Room is clean and spacious. Wifi is free! Staff are freely and helpful. Breakfast is alright, consist of local and western. There are tuk tuk right outside the hotel. I travelled around PP on a tuk tuk whom we hired for a day. Weather was hot and dusty so we regretted not getting a car or a van to tour us around. King Grand is conveniently located nearfeet attractions. Just a few minutes walk to the royal palace, Mekong River, national museum, Naga World, etc. Hotel stuff is very friendly and there are lots if inexpensive eateries around the hotel

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff very nice and service oriented. Cool rooftop pool area :-) Highly reccomends it!

Hotel in a good location walking distance to Royal Palace, riverfront etc. Staff helpful, breakfast decent, good wifi. All in all good vale for money.

The Hotel is located within easy walking distance of the main tourist sights in Phnom Penh. There is a small rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace from where you have great views of the city including the Royal Palace.The service offered by the staff is superb and the rooms are to very high standard. Fantastic little hotel. The staff are so attentive, kind and considerate. The rooftop bar and pool are simply luxurious. Our room was very clean and had a great view of the central boulevard. Located just a stones throw from all the major sights. My only gripe would be that the room was a little noisy, mostly because of the A/C unit! The tuk-tuk drivers […] can be annoying just outside the hotel, but aside from that I would have no hesitation in staying at the King Grand Boutique again. Mehr

conveniently located only walking distance to some of the main sights and close to tuk tuks for the rest. The service was pleasant and helpful and the included breakfast was excellent! The rooms are spacious and clean and the bathroom was a delight. Rooftop pool was such a relief from the heat and the friendly waiters serving cocktails made me feel […] like I was in a resort! The King Grand Hotel was perfect for our brief stay in Phnom Penh. A short walk or tuk-tuk ride to the river walk and many restaurants. The newly renovated hotel has lovely large rooms. There was some final touch work going on but it was not disruptive to our stay. Wonderful helpful staff.

Very good and helpful staff. Always smiling and do their best to satisfy our requests. Very pleasant stay. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Phnom penh.

Yep, not the cheapest, but if you want a cut above in this range then worth it. Good bed, bathroom etc and the dvd player was a nice touch. Staff were the winner, everybody smiling and full of hello's.

Hotel feels quite new, with all the hi-tech touches and a very nice (although small-ish) rooftop pool area. We reserved with a discounted special rate on hotels.com, which made it feel like more value. The hotel did not feel very full, which probably contributed to our experience. Breakfast and/or the rooftop might have felt a little crowded with more […] people, since common areas aren't very big, but we felt like we had the place to ourselves sometimes. The location is great, within walking distance to the Royal Palace Complex and along the river, but on a sidestreet that has a few restaurant options. The front desk staff was very helpful in arranging transportation as needed, including the boat to Vietnam. Mehr

The hotel workers were very nice and service was good,but there were problems. I had noisy construction begin at 0730 Sat and Sun mornings. There was lots of banging on walls, yelling, and running around. That was poor form for management to do that to customers. Breakfast was included but it was mediocre. It was not cooked well, limited in selection, […] and somewhat blah. There were 3 of us and we asked the front desk for one other set of keys and were told that is all you get. Of course that limited our activities and forced unnecessary coordination to be in the same place at the same time to get access to the room. Mehr

From the welcoming drink upon arrival, to the handshake and cheerful wave goodbye from the hotel's General Manager, Sivam Raman, this was a simply wonderful few days and a great introduction to Cambodia (a country Marcia and I had been slightly apprehensive about visiting). Our fifth floor room, though small, was more than adequate for our needs. Security […] had been given a lot of thought here and we stood motionless in the lift on several occasions because we'd forgotten that it was necessary to swipe the lift's control panel with our room card before it would go anywhere. :-) Breakfast was always served promptly and by smiling courteous staff. We considered the King Grand's location to be perfect... just a pleasant five minute stroll from the splendid Royal Palace and museum. And only a short tuk tuk drive from the main tourist strip of restaurants and hotels along the river front. The hotel recommended a pair of yellow tuk tuk driving brothers, who can be found most times at the front of the Hotel. We used one of them "China" regularly. A pleasant lad, who, in four days, consumed nearly all the mints I'd bought from England to see me through our three week trip! :-) But a word of caution.. do negotiate the price of his services before hiring him or you're sure to end up paying more for the journey than a taxi would have cost! When we left, we were already looking forward to our return to The King Grand which would be six days later (after a trip north to Siem Reap). Another report will follow. the hotel staff were really good and so helpful. the location was good, only 2 min tuk tuk ride from the river restaurants and it was quiet at night. i was sick with food poisoning while there (not from the hotel food) and the bathroom was clean and cool. rooftop pool was beautiful!

I rarely write reviews, so this will be short. The one outstanding feature of this hotel is the staff, very friendly and helpful (that is common to most hotels in Cambodia though). This is a new hotel on a small side street which is close to many things. I din't like the lack of parking or the construction noise. The room was by far the smallest I have […] ever stayed in! Tiny, tiny, tiny....let me repeat tiny, tiny, tiny. Just enough room to get around the bed, which by the way had a great mattress and pillows, not commomn in Cambodia. The free wi-fi was intermittant and unreliable. The limitted menu of food was ok, nothing special but ok. The pool looks big in the picture on the website but is slightly larger than most hotels jacuzzi. The elevator is small also. There was barely room for my wife and I along with are bags. Did I mention the room was tiny? Anyhow, maybe everything is sized to a Khmer person...I am not that big, 6 foot and 220lbs, but everything is so small. If I had payed rack rate, I'd be mad. Since hotels.com got me 50% off, I just racked it up to experience. My 2 cents worth. Mehr

Very clean and modern hotel. Staff could not be more helpful.

The staff here is amazing in their desire to make your stay comfortable. No request is too much to ask. However, unless you don't mind the noise of an extensive remodel and expansion, I highly recommend waiting until the renovations are finished, which they tell me will be the end of October, 2011. Making this information available BEFORE booking, should […] be a responsibility of Hotels.com, and I strongly suggest they make this a part of their service. Mehr

Everything that I read in other reviews about this hotel was true. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool on the top floor is very relaxing after a day of sightseeing and even has jacuzzi jets. As I had an early depture on my last day, the staff even prepared a take-away breakfast package for me.

I would definitely stay at this Hotel again - staff were extremeley helpful and it is situated in a great position - walking distance to shops, supermarkets, travel agencies and markets. Meals were quite reasonably priced in the restaurant and it made a welcome relief to sit quietly and eat.

Fint rent, hotell med ypperlig service. Mycket trevlig personal. Enda nackdelen var frukostbuffén, som visserligen var riklig, men inte jättegod. Hotellets läge är toppen, nära till det mesta. Härlig, kyld pool på taket.

Underbar personal, fantastiskt hjälpsamma i alla frågor man kan tänkas ha. Bra lokalisering, en kort tuktuk-tur från Riverside men annars så finns det en hel del trevliga ställen på samma gata, prova bl a restaurangen bredvid. Detta hotell rekommenderas starkt!

Charmigt, fantastisk personal, nära till restauranger och sevärdheter. Kan verkligen rekommendera detta!

Fornøyd med hotellet, men det ligger langt fra shopping, uteliv etc. Men tuk tuk kjører deg rundt billig. Vil anbefale dette hotellet. Generellt veldig fornøyd.

Mycket trevligt hotell med en fantastisk personal. Poolen på var helt underbar, visst den var inte stor men räckte gott och väl till. Frukosten var mycket bra, man fick välja på en meny. Det var även lagad mat. Det enda negativa var att rummet var litet. Fördelarna övervägde detta med råge. Ett hotell som vi varmt kan rekommendera.

Hotellet är nytt och fräscht med mycket rena rum. Poolen på taken är liten men kan ge svalka om det är varmt. Personalen var mycket trevlig och hjälpsam. Frukosten var den stora höjdaren då vi fick välja vad och hur mycket vi ville från menyn. Hotellet ligger i den nya backpackerområdet, med gångavstånd till Royal Palace och centrala Phnom Penh.
