Die Atmosphäre und Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Die Zimmerausstattung mit iMac und iPad ist ungewöhnlich gut. Die Farbwahl und Einrichtung ist sehr gut. Dieses Hotel liegt in Zentrum von Lissabon (Baixa Chiado). Die nächste Metrostation ist innerhalb von 3 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Das Hotel überzeugt mit seiner modernen Art und der vollausgestatteten Zimmer (TV, WLAN auf allen Etagen, iMac, Klimaanlage, Küchennische, Bugeleisen +Brett, Radiowecker mit iPod/iPhone Dockingstation etc.) Das Personal […] an der Rezeption spricht fließend Englisch und ist sehr hilfsbereit. (Die Rezeption ist 24h besetzt) Probleme mit der Klimaanlage wurden innerhalb von 1h behoben. Die Sauberkeit im Hotel lässt nicht zu wünschen übrig. Top! Zwar wird im Hotel kein Frühstück angeboten, aber aufgrund des Angebotes an Cafes, Bäckerein etc. in der Umgebung (2min) ist dies kein Problem. Wir haben das Hotel vorab gebucht, konnten aufgrund der Fotos im Internet jedoch die Zimmergröße nicht einschätzen - fatal! Die Zimmer sind SEHR klein und befinden sich im klassischen Kurz_nach_Fertigstellung_Zustand. So gibt es diverse unvollendete Elemente im Zimmer sowie im Bad, desweiteren ist - bedingt durch Altbausanierung - das ganze sehr Hellhörig! […] Im Urlaub möchte ich nicht durch aufstehende oder abreisende Nachbarn geweckt werden. Unser defekter Waschbeckenabfluß wurde nach 2 Tagen repariert, der Internetzugang (WLan) funktionierte nur eingeschränkt. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert nicht zur Kühlung, was bedeutet, dass Balkonfenster muß geöffnet werden- was wiederum zu enormer Lärmbelästigung (Innenstadt) führt. Das Personal ist allerdings stehts bemüht und für junge Leute ist es vollkommen ok - zumal der Preis akzeptabel ist. Mehr

Ich war sehr zufrieden. Mein Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet mit einem großen, bequemen Doppelbett (gute Matratze - ich habe oft Rückenschmerzen nach Hotelaufenthalten, hier aber nicht), großem iMac Rechner, kostenlosem und schnellem! WiFi (für jede Etage eigene Zugänge bzw. Netzwerke mit hohen Empfangsstärken), kleiner Pantry-Küche und einem geräumigen, […] sauberen Bad (WC + Dusche). Bad und Schlafraum hatten Fenster, die Klimaanlage geht automatisch aus, wenn man die Fenster öffnet. Man kann die Klimaanlage gut regulieren, in der höchsten Stufe ist sie laut. Mein Zimmer war ruhig, weil es in eine Art Innenhof zeigte, der aber sehr klein und hässlich war. Aussicht gleich null und das Zimmer/Bad war auch etwas dunkel, trotz künstlichem Licht (schick aber unpraktisch). Einrichtung aber sehr modern und stylish. Jedes Zimmer hat eigene Rauchmelder, es gibt einen Feuerlöscher im Zimmer. Sehr freundlicher Service, der fließend Englisch sprach, Rezeption 24h besetzt. Kein Frühstück im Haus, aber bei Brown's Café, das 1 Minute zu Fuß entfernt ist und leckeres Frühstück bietet (Sanwiches, Muffins - amerikanischer Art). Metro-Station ist um die Ecke. Hotel liegt sehr ruhig in einer Seitenstraße. Kleiner Supermarkt zur Selbstverpflegung ist um die Ecke (3 Minuten zu Fuß). Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung. Mehr

Beim Brown's Downtown handelt es sich um ein erstklassiges Design-Hotel in mitten in Lissabon. für ein Designer-Hotel war dieses abgewohnt, bzw. nicht instand gehalten. Kein Licht in der Kitchenette, Herd funktionierte nicht, Leisten/Blenden bei Bildern fehlten, Dusche trotz geschlossener Türe nicht wasserfest (Überschwemmung im Badraum), Zimmer-Licht sehr störend, zum Lesen im Bett ungeeignet. Aus diesen Gründen können wir dieses Hotel leider […] nicht weiterempfehlen, obwohl es ein ansprechendes Ambiente und eine sehr gute Ausgangslage hat. Schade. Mehr

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Die Zimmer sind sauber und in gutem Zustand - das Service war super. Insgesamt ist das Browns Downtown sehr auf den Stylefaktor bedacht (iMac und iPad in jedem Zimmer, alles topmodern). Die Lage könnte jedenfalls nicht besser sein und die Preise waren in der Nebensaison auch sehr gut!

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Der Zugang ist in einer Seitenstrasse und Nachts muss man sehr aufpassen um nicht in "Fäkalien" zu treten (mir zweimal passiert). Ansonsten ist man mit ein paar Schritten mitten im Zentrum. Die Anlage ist sauber und die Zimmer sind allesamt mit IMac und Ipad sowie freiem Internet ausgerüstet. Wir verbrachten drei Nächte in Brown's Down Town und haben die Location sehr genossen. Sie liegt perfekt für einen Städtetrip. Freundlich - kompetent - sauber. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein, aber wir waren ja nur zum Schlafen da. Kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Great hotel, really friendly staff - room was excellent. We ate out whilst there but there is actually a small kitchen in the room so you could be a lot more self-sufficient. We stayed in the "suite" room 501 I think - stunning room but i have a few minor gripes; 1) Double bed is actually 2 single mattresses 2) Shower was amazing but leaked really, […] really badly (even with door fully shut) 3) Quite a lot of the lights didnt work - but room was so bright it didn't really matter (only in eve or when In the shower) Nonetheless a great room and hotel and will definitely recommend to anyone i know going to Lisbon and I would certainly stay there if in Lisbon again. Brown´s Downtown, and especially the staff, are top-notch. My grumble, though, is with the current generation of so-called ``modern´´ hotel interior designers. I swear, not a one of them has ever stayed in a room of their design, used the bathroom fully or worked in housekeeping and had to clean and ready a room and bath. In this case, it is impossible […] to take a shower without water eventually covering the bathroom floor. It is nearly impossible to adjust the water in the shower without first getting a head-drenching of cold water. There is a mirror covering one complete wall, but essentially no shelf space for a woman´s make-up kit and-or a guy´s shaving gear. I´ve seen this same poor design all over Europe and in Latin American in the past couple of years. Frustrating in an otherwise fine hotel. Mehr

Very nice modern hotel in the center of town. Computer in the room along with an iPad if you don't bring your own. WiFi was great. Parking only on the street which can be scarce or in the very expensive (€35 for 24hrs) public lot a short 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the comfort and style of our room. An excellent stay in a great hotel. Well located for access to Lisbon tourist sites and eating places Fully equipped room with iPad and Mac faciities.and small "kitchen" facility. The only downside was the leakage of cigarette smoke smells in the corridors and partially into our room.

First the position of the hotel is brilliant for visiting Lisbon. Everything easy walking distance. Problem is the hotel markets itself as a funky designer place, at the expense of simple practical requirements of a hotel. Our room was perhaps especially bad but some of the concerns would apply to all. Air conditioning. The statement implies that the […] air is conditioned. But on the last night of our stay the so called air con was only pushing out hot air despite the room being hot! Thermostat made no difference. Talk to staff and was told they had just switched the air con from cool to heat as someone had complained about the lack of heat (it was still 18C so not that cold!). Now that is not air con. As our room only had windows onto an internal atrium, even with these wide open there was no cooling breeze. Shower. This leaked vast amounts of water over the floor and the staff said that this was a problem for all rooms. Funky design V practicality. We used a face cloth to stop the worst, but the next day these were not replaced. Musty. The sink had a distinct musty aroma coming from the drain that was somewhat off putting. Sink design. Small funky and flat. So (A) nowhere to put stuff and (B) water stayed on the surface rather than draining. Lighting. Not enough – funky design v practicality On the plus side the iPad+Mac were great. The staff were friendly but seemed unable to solve the issues when raised. Management need to fix the few designer issues to be a great hotel. Mehr

The location is great. The style and design is fabulous. Was a little disappointed that the internet was not working very well at all especially when there was a mac computer and ipad in the room.

The hotel is in a very convient location. The only thing I didn't like is you have to be in your room to have the electricity to be active. I left the piece from my key to keep the power running, but the maid took it when she cleaned the room, and I had to go to reception to claim it back. I would stay here again.

Having worked in Rua Augusta many years ago, it's great to find a hotel in the heart of Lisboa, within walking distance of the main shopping, entertainment and tourist areas. Also 10mins stroll to cais do sodre, perfect for train connections up the coast to Estoril/Cascais. Small room was.... Small. But enough room to walk around double bed, so fine […] for crashing out. Style and gadgets were great and staff very pleasant. Only negative comment is that aircon and plumbing was quite noisey between rooms. Rule of thumb - avoid cafes/restaurants on Rua Augusta and main squares - service is average and prices are high. Go a few streets back and pick one of these. Restaurant Palmeira (left of Baixa metro arch entrance) serves typical food, or if thirsty, great cold beer for a fraction of the price. Mehr

What a great little boutique hotel! The area couldn't be more perfect for touring around Lisbon. The staff was extremely friendly, and they even made a reservation for us for dinner. The design details of the room were awesome- from the fresh flowers to the computer. I loved stepping out onto the balcony and watching the street action below. The kitchenette […] was great as well. Although we didn't use it, I'm sure we would've if our stay was longer. The only negative I might say about our particular room was that it was a small space and we had two very large suitcases. Of course we managed to make it work, but we were stepping over things most of the time. Additionally, the shower leaked on the floor each time of use. Really though, no big deal. Mehr

Location is ideal, only moments from the metro, cafes, main avenues and tram stop. The hotel is on a side street... would i have walked home alone? No, i wouldnt. Even with my husband, i felt a little uneasy. Lots of drug dealers around the surrounding area too. We were met with a very friendly and helpful manner and the check in was hassle free. Overall […] the condition of the hotel was fine, stay for only one night and you might not notice the wee things. Dirty walls, less than perfect paint work, the shower door doesnt close soaking the bathroom, nowhere put anything more than a toothbrush. No soap at the sink, unless you use the shower gel. A strip broke off the windows and a light fell off the wall within the first day. We slept well.... apart from the 1am awakening every night by the bin lorry doing the nightly rubbish collection in the street below. We were on the 6th floor, so found the climb in 42oC heat tough when the lift broke. TV was huge, but channels are very limited to BBC World News and similar. Great view out the 6th floor window. Small kitchen was handy. Staff pointed us in the direction of Sacramento for dinner, which was fantastic. We were in the largest room, 602 (which sleeps 2) there were 10 seats/stools PLUS the bed. The room was so packed with various chairs and tables, we kept bumping our heads on the roof!! Although the chairs were lovely, there really is no need for so many at the expense of space!! The hotel is situated in a really convienient central location, surrounded by the shops & restaurants of Baixa and close to all public transport. Although busy during the day, the area becomes much quieter at night. It is only a short walk though through Chiado and on to the bars of Bairro Alto. The rooms are on the small size (mine was described as a medium and was only just big enough). The bathroom was compact and contains a shower only. My room was equipped with a small kitchenette (fridge, kettle, hotplate). It would have been nice touch if this was stocked with a few basics (tea, coffee, sugar, salt etc.) for those wanting to use the facilities. The bed was actually two singles pushed together rather than a double. I found this to be really uncomfortable and was quite disappointing. I also found that the hotel itself was very noisy. There was a lot of sound transfer from other rooms and the cleaners appeared to have a habit of slamming doors in the morning. This spoilt the stay slightly. Mehr

The hotel was like a loft in NY, I loved it! It was close to everything, in a quiet street just feet away from cafes, restaurants, monuments, buses and trams, trains, and shopping. The staff was wonderful and gave me great suggestions for outings to include a beautiful nearby city Sintra- a must see while there.
