The room was recently renovated and fairly comfortable except for the tiny bathroom. The office and other parts of the motel were either under renovation or needed to be renovated. Breakfast items were better than average.

This place was a DUMP. The front desk lady was not freindly and the rooms were run down, it looked like their was mold in the bathroom around the shower and toilet. Would not recommend this to others.

no maid service 2 of my 4 nights, parking lots is way too small with cars illegally parked all over the place. the parking lot was plowed once and they never used rock salt on the walkways to keep you from slipping. called the front desk once and got a "yeah?" as a greeting. no breakfast since the area is being remodeled. really disappointed in my […] stay, likely will look for another NLT place to stay in the future. This is a great location and the quality is quite good. The heart shaped tub is really novelty, but make sure you're not splitting that room with folks you're not comfortable showering in the middle of the room

Overall a good stay, with a few caveats. Positive: - Great location. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. within walking distance, and it is a pretty short drive to ski resorts like Homewood and Alpine Meadows. - Spacious. We had the Family Suite, which had quite a bit of room and was great for four people. - Great price, considering […] the above two points. Negative: - Parking worked out, but it was pretty tight. - Some of the lights in the bathroom were not working or had dead bulbs. - There was a full-sized fridge, but the bottom of the freezer looked like it had either melted through dramatically or been attacked by a small creature. - The poor labeling on one of the heaters (odd markings drawn on with a Sharpie) led to one of the bedrooms being really hot the first night. The Hampton Inn was very comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. I was only expecting a continental breakfast in the morning and they ended up having fresh made belgian waffles and sausage!

For the price, it was okay. The person at frontdesk was friendly even though it was late night. I hope the hotel management uses my review to improve upon the folowing: - Only one light out of 4 worked in my room. The switches were either broken or bulbs not working. - There was some problem with the flush but if you tried hard enough it worked. - […] The bed and mattress looked reaaaaaaaallly old. But I didn't mind it at the price at which I got. Rating it overall 3 starts for now coz of staff's friendliness. Mehr

We booked a room with king size bed and we got the room on the first floor, so we could hear the footsteps of the people above our room, but it was not too loud. The best part of the hotel 1. Location - We were tired to drive anywhere for dinner after a full day of skiing, so we walked to Hacienda which is right behind the hotel and has a great view […] of the Lake. 2. Hot water Jacuzzi - If we did not have the hot water jacuzzi, we would not have recovered soon from our skiing soreness. 3. The breakfast was included which easily saves you $15-20 and also saves your time. Overall: very satisfied with the stay. I would recommend this to a friend. Mehr

We head up to Tahoe quite regularly for skiing and other winter sports. We don't spend a lot of time in our room, we really just need a place to take a shower and sleep. This place was great for that purpose. The room was clean and the staff was super friendly. The breakfast in the morning was really nice. Having the shower inside the spa with no hand rails was dangerous for senior citizens. When we asked for a room without a spa,we were told there weren't any available, yet overnight there were only half a dozen cars in the parking lot.

This is an old and well worn establishment, no frills. The bed was comfortable, sheets & towels were clean. Bathroom had been recently tiled but smelled a little moldy which I attribute to the aged condition. Patrons appear to be construction crews on out-of-town jobs. We had a great time staying at the Tahoe City Inn. The price was right and the property was centrally located in the middle of Tahoe City's business district. The hotel has free VHS movies to loan too, which was a great touch and we had a lot of fun watching some 80s comedies. The breakfast was basic but well presented and the breakfast room had a relaxing […] view of the lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all we were extremely pleased with the value and will be certain to stay at the Tahoe City Inn next time we go to Lake Tahoe. Mehr

My room was cute with a nice jacuzzi tub. It was September in Tahoe and the weather was gorgeous - so I wasn't interested in spending a whole lot of time in my room! It was right next to a Safeway, CVS, and coffee shops, and I could walk around the corner and swim in the lake or hang out on the piers. Loved it. Would stay here again.

This hotel was over priced and completely undelivered. I have stayed at motels better than our room. I asked for a queen matress and go two twins pushed together. There wasn't any basic essentials like a blow dryer in the room and the outlets didn't work. The room was really cheap looking and dingy. This is by far the worst place I've stayed at.

Old, crumbling walkways, lot of road noise but convenient location, not the Ritz, but not so expensive. Office attendant was frequently out of office, and had to be "paged" by pushing the "find handset" button on the cordless phone base station at the desk. Definitely no frills.

We understand the property is mid renovation. Maybe a room all ready renovated is much nicer. The un-renovated rooms leave much to be desired. No air conditioning, and the Summer can be hot. Walls obviously painted at different times - because the colors don't match. Paint chipping and peeling from the ceiling. Linolium in the bathroom grey and worn. […] Just a sad room in every way. Again, the renovated rooms may be much better. The manager did go out of his way and tried to solve our issues, which we appreciated. We were not able to get a renovated room because we were traveling with a dog. Once the renovations are over they will no longer be "dog friendly", which is a pity. Oh, and just FYI -- bed bugs can live at that elevation (though we did not have any in our room.) Mehr

The room is nice, the service is good, people at the desk are very friendly. They have lower rates for weekdays. Breakfast is only at weekends but it is pretty good. I enjoy my stay and would definitely recommend this to others.

Gross - good location but bed sucked, dirty room, had to climb into combo shower / jacuzzi - super high.

It was snowing when we arrived and we could see people on the back porch but they could not hear us knocking/banging on the front office door. We froze before gaining admittance.
