The maintainence of the hotel was good, service was good. But it was hard to find the hotel by taking underground to their.

This is a gorgeous property. The light-filled lobby--courtesy of a glass roof--is a very comfortable and inviting place to hang out, which is what we felt like doing on the morning of New Year's Day 2012. The bathroom was a tiny jewel. The only drawback is that the street is difficult to find: Songshu is not a major street as indicated on my map, but an alley in a hutong. Enter through Liuhai hutong. As long as you print or write down the hotel information before you find yourself getting in a taxi you will be fine. Hou Hai is a vibrant area that is a 5 minute walk. We booked on Hotels.com in October for half the price a room was booking at the hotel.

An excellent hotel from which to share a local experience withing reach off all Beijing attractions. Firstly the staff are fantastic being very courteous and very helpful. Much attention has been given to detail and this hotel is an oasis in the middle of a local chinese community. The bedding in our room was unique yet adequate however access to the […] bed may be a little difficult for those with mobility problems. Our room did not contain a bath while advertising indicated it would. All amenities and toiletries were of a good standard. The brief Shadow Puppet display is held on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings was very good. Following the show you are given the opportunity to join the presenters to try your skill and view how the show is presented. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the lakes and Prince Gongs gardens. However it is a 15 minute walk to the metro system. My conclusion: if you are looking for a place for a couple of nights to explore the treasures of Beijing from it may not be for you, however if you are seeking a local experience at an easier pace this hotel is for you. This hotel is very special - it is located in one of Beijing's hutongs just a couple of minutes south of one of the lakes in central Beijing (Houhai Lake). The hotel doesn't look like anything from outside, but once you enter, you recognize immediately that it is almost brand new, well designed and very clean. Also, the staff are great! The rooms vary […] quite a bit; that's why I rated the rooms a 4 out of 5 (our rooms were pretty good; once we had a room we didn't like and they changed it for us). Note that all of the rooms are relatively small. I'd recommend rooms with a window (no windows in rooms 202 to 205). Some rooms have windows facing the interior of the courtyard (covered by a glass roof), very few rooms have outside windows (not a great view or even a basement window with no view). The lack of views is probably the reality of a hutong / courtyard house. The small windows or even no windows didn't bother us (my wife and I and our 2 kids stayed in a total of 5 rooms during our two stays at this hotel, so we saw a variety of rooms and layouts). Best room we had was 212 (nice room overlooking courtyard, 2 beds, rather small bathroom); the best room overall might be 201 (one of the largest rooms and large window overlooking the staircase and glass window to the small hutong street). The staff are hardworking, helpful and are very friendly. All of the frontdesk staff speak some English; some very well, and some speak only a few words, but it is enough to get by. The staff organized an all day taxi ride for us to a section of the Great Wall that is not overrun by tourists - I would recommended this trip highly (about 800 RMB for the full day). They also organized taxis for us to the airport; this was appreciated because taxis don't always like to enter hutongs because of the narrow roads and flagging down a taxi can be a challenge for someone who does not look Chinese. This hotel was very nice. I was very impressed with the room and the cleanliness/comfort of the hotel. A great breakfast was included. The staff was friendly and helpful, though a few spoke very little English. The location is in a neighborhood within five minutes of a nice park, but definitely off the beaten path. Every cab driver had difficulty finding […] it and would drop us off at a nearby main street rather than navigate the narrow alley ways. chambre avec toute petite fenêtre non ouvrable donnant sur le salon de l'hôtel (si vous sortez de votre douche sans avoir tiré le rideau tout le monde peut vous voir !), odeur de renfermé et bruit de la salle à manger et autre chambre très petite (couloir + matelas surélevé coincé, avec fenêtre sur rue et réveil par les bruits alentour des 3h du matin.L'annonce […] ne correspond absolument pas à la chambre vendue. Smakfullt, väldesignat och bekvämt. Ett hem i ett annat land. Spännande omgivningar som ger inblickar i kinesiskt vardagsliv.

Eneste minus med hotellet, var at det ikke var vinduer på hotellrommene.

차하나가 간신히 들어가는 골목을 통과 할때는 과연 이 골목에 호텔이 있나 하는 생각에 불안했고, 육중한 나무문이 열리지 않아서 혹시 문을 닫은게 아닌가 하는 생각도 들었다. 하지만 일단 문을 열고 들어가자 완전한 별천지가 펼쳐졌다. 지극히 북경 적이면서 지극히 쉬크한 부띠크 호텔~ 로비는 그림자 인형극의 무대로 꾸며져 있고, 일주일에 세번의 공연이 있다. 객실마다 각기 다른 그림자 인형의 투조가 있고, 객실중 몇개는 중국식 온돌로 꾸며진 테마 객실이다. 조금만 걸어 가면 양방 11호 북경 전통 음식점, 후해의 카페들이 펼쳐 진다. 10분만 걸어가면 새로이 개장한 공왕부~ 서태후와 정변을 모의해서 한때 정권을 잡았던 공친왕 […] 혁흔과 건륭제 말년의 총신 화신의 대저택이 나타난다. 중국 문화에 관심 있는 사람이라면 누구든 묵어보기를 권한ㄷ. Vi bodde på hotellet under 7 nätter runt nyåret. Litet och lugnt hotell. Personalen mycket vänlig och hjälpsam. Frukosten - ingen buffé men helt ok. Man får välja på västerländsk eller kinesisk. Hotellet ligger ca 15-20 min gångväg till T-banestationen Pinganli. En riktigt trevlig promenad genom hutongernas vardagsliv. Känslan och utseendet är precis […] som på bilderna. 在胡同裡的酒店, 安靜, 像是入住有品味的主人家, 晚上八點的皮影戲表演適合全家觀賞, 離後海步行5分種就到了, 位置很好, 不過早餐尚待加強.
