Das Hotel liegt sehr nah an den bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten und dem Stadtzentrum. Alles ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Leider wird ring um das Hotel zur Zeit gebaut. Im Hotel wirkt alles etwas altbacken und die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr klein. Positiv überrascht hat uns das Gemeinschaftsbadezimmer. Es war immer sauber. vergleichsweise guenstig und zentral, aber Stand August 2012 direkt zwischen 2 Grossbaustellen mit entsprechendem Laerm ab 7.30-16.30, das dauert wohl auch noch ne Weile, da sieht man nur Baugruben. Bad/WC aufm Gang, Fruehstueck uebliches nordamerikanisches Pappbrot, aber Preis-Leistungs-Verhaeltnis stimmt insgesamt und man ist direkt Downtown.

Mäuse im Gang und im Zimmer, muffiger Geruch im Raum,direkt nebenan eine Grossbaustelle mit entsprechendem Lärm, Lage super mitten in Downtown, somit alles zu Fuss erreichbar

Das Kingston hat wohl das beste Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in Vancouver. Wir bezahlten nicht viel mehr als in einer Jugendherberge für eine Lage mitten im Downtown. Der Service war hervorragend, das Personal hilft bei allen Arten von Anliegen freundlich, schnell und kompetent. Frühstück mit Bagels war ok. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein ohne eigene Dusche […] und Toilette. Aber nur dadurch kann ein so tiefer Preis zustande kommen. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Zur Zeit ist gerade eine grössere Baustelle neben dem Kingston, man hat mit Lärm zu rechnen. Wer eine gute Lage will ohne viel zu bezahlen und dafür auf etwas Luxus verzichten kann ist hier am richtigen Platz! Mehr

I was impressed by the accesibility and proximity of the hotel to all the mayor places in downtown everything was walking distance and the hotel staff were very friendly. the shared bathroom was not an issue at all as I thought prior to my stay. will recommend two thumbs up!

Very nice European style guest hotel within walking distance of Yaletown, Gastown and the excitement of Robson Street. The rooms and bed are a bit small and you have to share two washrooms per floor but everything is exceptionally clean, the hotel is surprisingly quiet given the location and the price is right!

great staff. next to construction site. we were there on the weekend so it was quiet but during the week Im not sure if that would be the case. the doubble bed offered was actualy a 3/4 bed. ok if alone bit tight to share.

Our hotel experience was very good. From the moment we got into our room it was clean and simple. The only thing I would complain about is the addition of 10 dollars for a second person. A hotel room with a double bed should accommodate two people. I've travelled a lot and never seen such a charge. This 10 dollar difference made the hotel a bargain […] to be downtown, into something only about 15 difference from a hotel WITH its own bathroom. To us we didn't care but still will be something to think about. If the hotel was only 55 dollars and with proper tax without fees (60 with tax) we would be there a few times a year easy. Mehr

It was courteous, clean and perfect for the conference nearby at UBC-Robson Square. It was a shock to pay extra to park a car, and to pay a $50 fee in addition to the hotel price given on the internet.

For the price we paid for, we didn't expect too much from the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was coffee, orange juice and toast or bagel which was enough for us. Housekeeping was not done everyday but we were fine with this because we kept our room clean. I thought the carpet needed vacuuming though. It's a quaint, old building […] and because of these, I would think that it requires a lot of cleaning and maintenance. The shared bathrooms were clean and always available. We had a great time staying here. If you are looking for something modern or fancy, you might not be happy with it. We had a tiny room with a tiny bed and a shared bathroom down the hall. It was pretty much exactly what we expected. Very European. Everything was clean, but the towels could use some bleach! The staff was very nice, the price was very […] reasonable, and the location was perfect. We took the train up and walked to the hotel. On our second day, we walked up to Stanley Park and had a great day there. That evening we walked to the BC Place Stadium to see Paul McCartney. There are also a lot of good places to eat withing walking distance, including the Kingston restaurant right next door. Breakfast was coffee and a toasted bagel. It was perfect for us. If you are not fussy, and are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep, this is a great choice. We will definitely return! Mehr

Excellent. Very well maintained hotel. We loved the location. Amazingly quiet and clean. The carpet in our room looked a bit tired and stained, as well as the decorative cushions. Otherwise, this hotel was great value for the cost. Very nice simple continental breakfast and you cannot beat the location. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel was great! Who cares if you share a shower? You have a sink in your room, the beds are comfortable and it definitely has character and class! The staff are also extremely helpful and informative. If there was a small downside, there is currently some construction next door (although I never heard it until 8am) and sound carried a little through the floors and walls. It was quiet though! Small rooms in an otherwise decent hotel well located for central Vancouver. But hotel is completely surrounded by building works so only choose if you don't mind construction noise.

The jackhammers outside my window before 8 am were a shock. Nothing the hotel can do about that. Was quiet the rest of the time. Will stay with you again when taking the train from the US.

The staff were excellent, the location great. The rooms very small, the double bed very small and has shared bathrooms. In regards to shared bathrooms, it worked out ok as there were several of them. Breakfast was a toasted bagel and cup of tea. The overall stay was ok as it was just for 1 night. It was good value for the money paid.

I made this reservation for my son who was leaving the US to go to school in Canada for a year. We live in small town and i was looking for a place that would be homey yet in downtown Vancouver. He said his room was very small with a single bed, said it would be a double and the hotel smells quite musty and old. A real experience. Hotel was built in 1910 so is only one double bed, no air conditioning and a shared shower but great value for a couple. Came with a continental breakfast which was a bonus. I was worried about this hotel as it had a mix of reviews... Most of them good, but one or two bad. But... i didnt want to spend much for one night and so booked it, and for the money, I thought this hotel was great!! It's right in the heart of downtown, just a 5 minute walk to gastown and the seabus etc and really close to shopping etc...If you like […] that. Sharing a bathroom was no problem for me, but I think there are only 2 per floor so that could be a problem when whole floor is booked out and/or first thing in the morning. The negative review I read said that the sheets and room were dirty, but my room was perfect. The staff were all lovely, especially the maid as she tried I help me find change for the washing machine (you need 2 x $1, 2 x 25c, and I only had a $2 - but front desk gave me change so all good!!) Wifi was quick at night when I guess most people weren't using it, but very slow in the morning, I guess when everyone was. But they did warn that I think when you signed in. Overall, I would definetely stay again and recommend to friends. :) Mehr

The hotel was nice and central and the staff was very helpful. Also the breakfast was pretty nice. The only downside we stayed there in a pretty warm night and there was no AC (which we knew before) so the room got a little bit hot.

I was very happy with my two night stay at the Kingston Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided a simple breakfast plus tea and coffee throughout the day and. The room was small but had everything I needed including a sink in the room. The share bathrooms were immaculately clean and there were three on my floor so involved no waiting […] at any time. The hotel is right in the centre of town and an easy walk to Canada Place, Gastown, Chinatown, City Centre train Station and only around the corner from Robson Street and a good IGA supermarket. We stayed for 5 nights from 10 to 14 Aug 2012. Rates were reasonable given the location of the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient and variety was fine with us as we are ok with having buttered toast bread, orange slices and orange juice. Bagel is also available. There's building construction activities happening on both sides of the hotel, for the same […] development project interestingly, but should be fine if you're going out early in the day and returning in the evening, otherwise you'll have to bear with the noise and dust (if you must open the window as there's no air-conditioning). Enjoyed it, quite quaint and old school but has everything and staff were very helpful...Building site next door may be a problem for those trying to sleep in . But as I left the hotel at 0430 amI had gone before the workmen started..Lucky me.
