From the initial check in, to the daily greeting of staff each day, to the ease of check out my stay at this hotel was superb. The staff was friendly, accommodating and responsive. The room was clean and well stocked with towels, toiletries and food/drinks if so desired. The work out room was also clean and well functioning. I was back in New York (lived there for many years until moving recently) for a short work trip and stayed at the Hyatt 48 Lex since I had most of my meetings in the surrounding midtown east area. My stay was short, but I was very impressed. The room was clean, modern and sleek and despite being on a busy corner in midtown, it was peaceful and quiet […] in the room. The size exceeded what I expected for a Manhattan hotel. The second floor guest lobby was great too - it offered me a place to get some work done on comfortable couches, which was nice. Overall, I'd rate this hotel highly for business travelers. Its in the midtown east area, so its not the most lively area, but a very high quality Hyatt that I rank highly. Mehr

This was a strange hotel in many ways. The "lobby" is very small and lacks the traditional counter; more like a table sitting in the middle of a room that everyone gathers around. There was a second floor ":lounge" where folks could gather and you could bring you own wine, but it also sold wine. he foot of the bed was within two feet of the floor-to-ceiling […] windows, which gave great views. The bathroom door slides on a steel beam and does not truly close completely, which was a tad disconcerting. There were only two elevators and, when one was down briefly, it became a pain using the staircases. But all-in-all it was clean, conveniently located, and had a friendly staff. Validation did not take much off the parking garage cost. Mehr

Rooms are small, but the "kitchenette" aspect (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, wet bar) was REALLY convenient. Front desk staff very friendly if somewhat overwhelmed at times. Concierge services "minimal," but I would recommend this hotel to DIYers that require minimal guidance/assistance.

Just a few comments. The air coming into the room cannot be turned off. Pillows hard as a rock. Lots of little indicator lights in room at night made it not dark in room. Noisy. Phones out of commission. Staff friendly and tried hard.

I went to this hotel for three nights for a business trip followed by a social visit from several out of town friends. We all loved the hotel. As an interior designer, and a frequenter of five star hotels around the world, I am quite picky about where I stay, but I was very pleased with this stylishly appointed hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier […] or more helpful, we loved the second floor lounge with free food and beverages, the location was very convenient and the price was terrific. From the moment we walked into the 48 Lex, I knew we were in for a good experience. Each and every staff person went out of their way to help make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms aren't the largest but certainly not the smallest that I've stayed in when visiting NYC. But for two people, the size of the rooms are almost perfect. The rooms […] are indeed, clean and well appointed. We experienced only one issue in our room but not sure if it was unique to our room or to the hotel. The water pressure in the shower was awful in the AM hours. It improved slightly later in the day but this issue didn't ruin our experience much. The location of the 48 Lex is perfect, close to eveything. I would highly recommend staying at the Hyatt 48 Lex. Mehr

The modern simple yet elegant decor, great location, friendly and helpful staff made our Christmas get away perfect. Would definitely return in the future. Only complaint is that hallway noise is very audible in the room which isn't great if you're a light sleeper.

Room was a bit small but had a nice big bathroom. The hotel was a favored size as there were only six rooms on a floor. The hotel was clean and modern and the price was reasonable. Would definitely stay there again.

it was an absolute delight to stay in this hotel for a week, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and very clean very comfy bed too. The hotel is very central.

The Hotel service and cleanliness met the highest standards. It was our anniversary weekend and we arrived back from our evening out to a complimentary bottle of wine and two cupcakes. Such a nice gesture. We will stay here again without hesitation.

I would stay at this hotel again....the staff was very nice and was very helpfull....I wish i knew the youg mans name who worked there and referd us to a place called Griff Dog !!! Great Hot Dot !!!!!

We booked a king room but when we checked in the hotel only had a queen room. However the hotel gave us $50 food passes which worked out well. The room was OK but had limited seating better for single person.

Great Hotel, very attentive staff, restaurant could be a little better for breakfast choices but wonderful hash browns. Take a pedicab to Time Square at night...Wonderful!!!! But bargain for price. Will stay there again on next trip!

We were looking for a quality hotel in the midtown area that we didn't have to pay an arm and leg for. I did a search on Expedia for hotels; many were out of our price point. We found the Hyatt 48 LEX as a property that would fit our needs. Check in was very prompt, staff very friendly and informative. Our room was very clean, well appointed, bed comfortable, […] linens great, and bathroom nice. My wife missed the fact that the bathroom did not have a tub though. My girlfriend and I visited NYC for a long weekend. The staff on reception were extremely polite courteous and helpful. The receptionist that checked us in remembered our names a couple of hours later which was impressive. Fantastic location for a break in Manhatten. Rooms were perfect. det er et dejligt hotel, det ligger fantastisk med gå afstand til stort set alt, dernæst er værelserne pæne og store, vi boede på værelse 401 med terrasse hvilket var perfekt. vi havde et lille problem med hotellet hævede penge på vores kort selvom vi havde betalt via Hotels.com så vær opmærksom på det.

Antes de reservar verifiquei o tamanho do apto no site do Hyatt. As fotos do meu tipo de apto mostravam 2 janelas, poltrona, cama king e mesa de trabalho. Os detalhes no site diziam que o apto tinha aproximadamente 31m2. A surpresa foi bem desagradável: o apto era bem pequeno, não havia espaço para as 2 malas que levamos (muito menos para as compras […] que fizemos). O apto não tinha poltrona (não caberia) e a janela era uma só também estreita. Reclamei de todas as formas e fui informado, educadamente, que o hotel coloca na foto um apto do mesmo tipo do meu que só existem 2 no hotel (ou seja, nunca será possível ficar neles) e que a medida do apto estava correta. Me dei ao trabalho de medir o apto e constatei que não tinha os 31 m². Em resumo, o hotel é bom, mas não recomendo pelo risco de comprar uma coisa (o apto da foto) e receber outra (o apto que nos colocaram). O mesmo problema aconteceu com o outro casal que viajou conosco. Mehr

Certains penseront que les chambres sont un peu petites, mais pour nous c'était parfait! Pour ceux qui aiment le style loft, avec petite cuisinette, grande salle de bain, c'est parfait! Du service de la part du personnel, aux gens qui s'occupent du stationnement, nous avons eu un excellent service. Eu e minha esposa hospedamo-nos por uma semana neste hotel. Foi tudo perfeito, do check-in ao check-out! Os funcionários são na maioria bem jovens e todos muito cordiais e extremamente atenciosos. Um exemplo de atendimento! O hotel é novo e extremamente bem localizado. O quarto em que ficamos era impecável. Adorei! O hotel é bem perto da 5ª Avenida e Rockefeler Center. Os funcionários são super prestativos e atenciosos. Para um casal o quarto é bem confortável: tudo novo, banheiro impecável. Reservei este hotel pela internet confiando nos reviews, sempre tenho um pé atrás com hotéis em NY. Ao chegar no hotel o pequeno lobby me deixou um pouco apreensivo mas ao chegar no lounge e depois no quarto fiquei muito feliz. O quarto é espaçoso, completo, muito bem decorado, muito limpo, tudo novinho e cama e roupa de cama de excelente qualidade. […] O hotel tem só 6 apartamentos por andar o que dá um clima intimista ao espaço. O atendimento é excelente e a localização fantástica, perto de tudo e longe o suficiente de Times Square. Fica a 5 minutos (cronometrados) a pé da Grand Central e obviamente com vários Starbucks, Duane Reades e Pret A Manger ao redor. Mehr

The hotel is centrally placed. We chose this hotel because of very good experiences with other Hyatt hotels and because of the small kitchen. Generally we had a pleasant stay, however the cleaning of the room was not acceptable and we had to ask twice to have the room cleaner properly before it was done.
