It was very good, clean, nice and pleasant. Super friendly service, free wifi. just SUPER!

This is a great hotel, only about a year old, in an up-and-coming neighborhood of offices, shops & restaurants. The market (in the same office block) has a great buffet, with everything from pizza to hot entrees to sushi, which was a great way to save a bit on dining costs. The hotel is clean, modern & the staff was very friendly & professional. Coffee […] & tea are available on the 2nd floor & a coffeehouse down the block for lattes, etc... Though the hotel is in the midst of much new construction, the room was extremely quiet--we never heard anything (though we were gone during the daytime). You are 1 1/2 blocks to Metro Red and about a 10 min. walk to Union Station. A great hotel--we'll stay again for sure next time we visit! Mehr

Staff was attentive. The surrounding neighborhood is in transition, so some opportunities in the area (Harris Teeter on the corner, some good casual dining within a block), but be careful where you stray.

This hotel received rave reviews online, so I was anxious to try it out. The neighborhood is still very new and though, there are a few food offerings, they are not the greatest and do not stay open late. We were greeted by the bellman, who was having trouble with English, so that was a little frustrating trying to explain to him that it was too early […] to check in and that we wanted to leave our luggage in the car, etc. The hotel is less than a block from the metro, which worked out perfectly! And there are a couple surrounding buildings that are guarded 24 hours, so walking at night was not a problem either. I did have a slightly unpleasant experience as I made a special request for adjoining rooms and was not accommodated, even though I called 2 days before our arrival and was told it wasn't a problem. When I complained, I do not feel they went out of their way to accommodate us or make things right. They did offer a free breakfast, which we used, but did not enjoy. The buffet is substandard and includes the usual, mediocre fare. We also had a problem with the bathroom sink in that the water pressure was so low, it was almost unusable. We ended up brushing our teeth over the shower faucet. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful. It is nicely decorated, clearly brand new, and very clean. We were very comfortable there and would stay again. None of this would impact our decision to stay again, but they still have some work to do to make it "outstanding". Mehr

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but no big deal - we got to 'explore' the neighborhood! There is a grocery store and drug store on the corner and many small eateries surrounding the hotel. The metro was a block around the corner - so convenient! We chose ar room on the far side of the building and it was very quiet and overlooked a lovely courtyard! […] The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was very filling and there was plenty of it! The hotel staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and were always welcoming. There were a few restaurants near the hotel (sandwich type places). We were only a block or so away from the Metro, which was very convenient. Some of the more inconvenient things - we were close to the elevator so we could hear a banging type noise all the time. Parking […] was crazy expensive at the hotel and there really weren't other safe/secure options in the area. Also the hotel restaurant was super expensive and no continental breakfast, so we were on our own for all meals. Not a huge deal, just something to consider. The hotel is right down the block from a nice grocery store, however, which was very nice. One other oddity... our bed's mattress was so hard! They have a feature which is supposed to allow you to adjust the firmness of the mattress, but both my husband and I had really sore backs by the time we left! :) All in all it was a nice place. Pretty convenient and great staff. If available, however, next time I would stay even closer to the downtown area. Mehr

Our review of this hotel is very mixed. The hotel itself is brand new a very attractive. Design is sleek althought everything is on a small scale (like most spaces in a large city.) The front desk staff was very polite and very accomodating. The rooms were very well appointed, very attractive. Pool and excersize room were well maintained (clean) although […] small. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it was busy and again very stylish. However, the neighborhood is in transition - hotel block is shiny new high rises but one block away was pretty sketchy. My husband helped another guest chase down a man who stole his laptop from the lobby (they were assisted by sanitation workers who caught and detained the man.) We were over billed for valet parking (we only used it one night but were charged for all 4 nights we were there) but they were very apologetic and corrected the bill right away. Mehr

The hotel service was wonderful. It is located in a nice neighborhood. The New York Ave Metro is just around the block, so it is really convenient to get to all the places in DC. Expensive parking is a downside.

This hotel is beautiful and appears to be new. It has great facilities, and the people who work there are some of the friendliest and most helpful that I have ever met at any hotel. If you arrive in your car it will cost an additional $30 per day for parking. A Metro station is just one block away.

The hotel was nice and clean, and it was conveniently located (1 block to the metro). The only downside is that there is a very noisy nightclub that operates past 2AM

Nice hotel, neighborhood is okay, had some panhandling near the hotel. Expensive for where it is located. Next time I will stay outside the city because I still had to ride the subway to get to most areas.

This hotel was amazing!!! It was super clean and in a great location. The downfall is that there aren't many cabs in the area and you must call ahead.

The hotel was excellent in every regard: clean, comfortable, well-appointed and right next door to a great grocery store that had a decent selection of wines, beers and top of the line foodstuffs. The staff, however, was what made my family's stay so pleasant. Everyone was courteous, efficient and friendly. The positives for this hotel is it is new and located near metro stop.It also has fridge and microwave.The negatives were no house keeping service by 4pm. Had to call for towels and the still no service by 5pm. The pool was too cold to go in and shivering guests in elevator with children also told us it was too cold for them.The room has only one chair […] and a cocktail table and a desk chair so even though a microwave is included no place to sit and eat. Clean and Modern Amenities, Friendly and Helpful Staff, Safe location, only 2 blocks from the Metro Entrance, Many dinning options and grocery store within walking distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your family or business travel needs!

Completely satisfactory in all regards -- except that there was a lack of hot water at 10:30 one Saturday morning. But we survived and had a very nice stay.

Found this hotel to be a great example of modern comfort. Staff was friendly and helpful in accomodating my request to join rooms with someone who checked in earlier that day. Average amount of noise (Hotel is located within 2 short blocks of a metro station). Rooms were clean and the amenities used most was the complementary WiFi. FYI: Parking is Valet, […] no other choice. Might be a deterrent for someone looking to cost cut. No breakfast included either, but has a delicious breakfast buffet offered inside the hotel. Overall two thumbs up. Plan on staying there if I visit DC again! Mehr

I've stayed at several Hilton Garden Inns and this was the nicest so far. Beautiful room in a not-so-beautiful neighborhood. But it is very close to the metro and I felt safe walking from the station to the hotel late at night. I'll definately stay here again next time I go to DC!

Really nice hotel, great customer service!!! Restaurant is really nice, food was great. The only problem was the noise from the club ibaza, across the street, it was hard for my wife to fall asleep!!! She was kind of disappointed!!!

What a beautiful and comfortable hotel! Our room was amazing (we were in the King Jr. Suite) and the hotel staff was by far some of the best we've encountered. The only setback was that our room faced a loud nightclub that reverberated booming music until 3:00 in the morning! The staff definitely made it right though and moved us to the other side of […] the building and even included a free breakfast buffet for the inconvenience. I'd definitely stay here again! Mehr

Hotel itself is new, so very clean, etc. We stayed there with our 2 kids-16, and 10. Room was a little tight. Hotel didn't seem to be very busy but we were not able to get room with view on higher floor as requested. Restaurant okay-quite pricey. No real selection for kids. Great grocery store next store which served us great for breakfast and even […] a dinner or two. Pool very small but nice with good deck area. Spa was not working while we were there.Workout room pretty good. Location not great -felt middle of nowhere and close to questionable neighbourhood. Right on Metro line which is only a couple of stops to downtown. Mehr

Great Stay! The hotel has only been open for 9 months and was did really nice for the money. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The staff was very helpful. The metro is right behind the hotel and was very convenient. The area is undergoing a lot of new development, but we didn't hear any construction that weekend.

I stayed during the January sale. Since the hotel is within 2 blocks of the Metro station and has a good grocery store one-half block away, the location was excellent for the price. The neighborhood is undergoing redevelopment in Jan. 2012, I did not see this as a negative.

The only thing that I don't really satisfied is the location. It's not very close to the downtown area, though it's still easy for visitors to take the subway as transportation. So not a big issue at all. There's a supermarket just next to the hotel, very convenient for those who want to get some food quickly. All in all, it's a good place.

Beautiful newly-built property, very short walk to Red Line metro stop. And, with its location off New York Avenue, I found it very easy getting in and out of DC. Nice big comfy king bed - with adjustable sides for hard/soft! Room also came with fridge and microwave. Free Wi-Fi also a big bonus. Outstanding guest relations. Affordable rates. Absolutely Great could not ask for a better hotel. Only thing I can complain about is the price of parking!

My recent stay at the Hilton was very convenient. It was very close to the venue that I was visiting. The ambiance of the lobby was pleasant, and it was connected directly to the grocery store. While it was a nice stay, however, the comfort dial on the side of the bed did not work, so I could not have my bed as soft as I would have wanted it. The heating […] system worked GREAT! The front desk staff was extremely friendly. The cleaning staff was not consistant with leaving all of the amenaties in the room after cleaning. I spenf 9 nights at this hotel and at times wash clothes or mats were not left behind. The last day I stayed I did not receive any room service whatsoever. No one made my bed or replaced my towels. The cable […] has constant interrruptions. Your favorite shows are constantsly interrupted by quick blackouts. Overall it was convenient to metro. Mehr

I am a very picky traveler and this hotel exceeded my expectations. I had what seemed like a hundred grade school kids on my floor, but the walls were sound proof enough I never knew it. The suite was huge, clean and the staff very friendly. Parking is expensive, but it is a short two block walk through a good neighborhood to the Metro. There are several […] inexpensive sandwich shops, etc right on this block, a CVS across the street and a grocery store almost in the basement. Highly recommend! I am also concerned with Bedbugs and checked the room thoroughly. Very clean and no signs there had ever been bugs. Only downside was someone needs to fire the electrician - the light switches are outside the bathroom door and behind it - just poor design, but hardly worth mentioning. Mehr

I got a great room and it was comfortable and nice. The location is great. There is a new grocery store right next store which makes it convenient to walk to grab a snack. Plenty of restaurants nearby, etc. room was huge and people were friendly.

This is a great little hotel with friendly staff. It's 2.5 blocks from the metro station (New York Ave Red Line) and has a full GROCERY store next door and microwave/fridge. This is great for people on a budget to grab some yogurt for breakfast or popcorn in the evening.

My daughter and I took a trip to DC and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was clean, the staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. It is within a block of the Metro, making getting around so easy. An absolutely fantastic place to stay. One other note the hotel restaurant is not really for kids,( good effort), but it is more for couples and business […] persons, but there are enough eateries around the neighborhood. Mehr

The Hilton Garden Inn at the Capitol was very conveniently located to the Metro, Union Station, and even a huge new grocery store with pharmacy. The hotel is boutique-sized--new and bright. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms and decor very nice, the pool and business center well maintained. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was moderately priced […] and delicious. Sometimes our group of 4 shared our choices from the grocery store after a long day of sightseeing. Mehr

The staff was very accommodating, pleasant and nice to us. The room was spacious, extremely clean and cozy. The modern look had me from the moment we walked into the hotel. I would most certainly recommend this hotel to friends and I will be visiting here again.
