Brean Sands Holiday Park - Burnham-on-Sea

Having a vending machine swallow your money when it's 25 degrees and your thirsty is very frustrating, asked at Reception, was sent to the bar, the bar said it was nothing to do with them and sent me to the shop, the shop told me it was nothing to do with them it was the bar. I went to reception and got angry and finally after several minutes was brought […] a drink from the bar. Not a great start. I tried to check in at half 2, hotels.com stating in my confirmation email that we could check in from 2pm - I was told I could not check in until 4pm - so then had to wait around. To then check in and be told you have to pay a deposit for your bed linen and make your beds yourself was too much to handle - on seeing the horrific room which smelt rather unpleasant we were disgusted and didn't stay the night - we forfitted our money as we couldn't bare to stay there. The double bed in the family room was a pull out sofa bed in the living area of the room - none of this mentioned in any of the details before you book. I wouldn't set foot on this complex again if my life depended on it. Mehr

Went here with my boyfriend for a cheap getaway. We loved it. It's not 5 star but it's clean, comfortable and the location is great. We would definitely stay again!

very good value for money.even though we went out of season there was plenty to do.site had well stocked shop that was reasonably priced.would definately rec mend to anyone thinking of taking off season break

After reading all the bad reviews, I must admit I did not expect much. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Room was clean facilities were good and made for a very pleasant stay. Only negative no Wi Fi, only turned on for the season and we were there in early March. But for what we paid have left 5 star overall rating.

The hotel was ideally situated and there was activities going on throughout the day for the children. We stayed in a club room sleeping 5 and they were adequate and clean. Only negative I have was that we couldn't check in until 4pm

Don't bother to even think about going here, it's awful! Prisons are far more luxurious. Book in time online says 2pm, but it's actually 4 & the girl on the desk was rude. You have to pay £10 deposit for bedding when YOU collect it from the linen store & obviously YOU have to make & strip your own beds. YOU also return the bedding to the linen store […] or you lose your deposit. Advertised with double bed, which is actually a rickety old sofa! You also have to pay for your electricity. The loo is so close to the wall you have to sit on it sideways! Oh and the room smelt so musty and horrible, we had to buy a scented candle which we had lit the whole time we were there. So glad we were only there for 1 night. Mehr

We went with low expectations after reading the reviews and weren't disappointed but I suppose you get what you pay for. The staff were fine & helpful but the accomodation was a back to the 70's experience. Lumpy plastic mattresses, washed in stains on the linen, no towels or toiletries etc etc. We had a lovely day out at he Cheddar George & Weston […] super Mare though!!! Mehr

Pontins has seriously lost it. The cleanliness of the room was very poor. The venues run down and the food very sad looking. We didnt even bother looking at the entertainment. We only stayed overnight so it was ok for a stop over. So glad we did not book a week.

We stayed in a Classic Apartment (room number 13) which was filthy, we complained but the reception staff offered no apology and just said they would pass the message to the relevant department. When someone from the cleaning department turned up at our room after complaining yet again about a dirty stained sheet that had been left on our sofa bed, […] we were told that our room had not been cleaned at all, hence the mess and dirty sheets but we were told there were no spare rooms for us to move to and no one offered to clean the room for us although we had already done so ourselves. We were given clean bedding and the cleaning staff were very nice and apologetic which is more than we got from the man in reception. We were offered a complimentary meal but that was never followed through and to top it off the bed sofa which was faulty when we arrived collapsed on us on the last night. Bearing all this in mind we made the most of our stay and enjoyed the our time away, although i would never stay in this particular accommodation again. Mehr

Never again !! Waited in line for our dinner for 45 mins with my wife and grandchild (4 years old) then no where to sit down to eat the meal !! The same happend at breakfast the next day(30 mins) but at leased we could sit down to eat our breakfast !! A compleat shambles,atrocious meal times, NEVER AGAIN

no prior advice given to bring bath towels. Service slow and sloppy. Interior of whole place run down and dirty. Only friendly staff in restaurant

booked with you for my break at pontins worst thing i have done had to wait two hour to book in cos you hadnt sent any holiday confirmmation to them for my break worst holiday expeirence i have ever had.

De afwezigheid van foto's en de slechte aanbevelingen van anderen hadden ons duidelijk moeten maken dat we dit hotel (geen hotel maar een vakantiepark) niet hadden moeten boeken. Alle flipperkasten en aanverwante zaken bij de receptie vonden we niet gepast voor onze kinderen. De kamers die we hadden waren onderdeel van een gebouw dat voor een AZC in […] NL niet door de keuring zou komen. Het is ons een raadsel dat er mensen zijn die deze accommodatie als vakantie-oord aanbieden. De mate van privacy is laag, er is geen enkele vorm van comfort. De kamers waren niet schoon. De locatie was zeer slecht te vinden. Adresgegevens waren heel summier. Voor het huren van handdoeken moest flink betaald worden. De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding was zeer slecht. Voor slechts 20 euro per nacht meer kun je een goede hotelkamer boeken. Helaas kunnen we dit park aan niemand aanraden. Als er voor gekozen zou worden alle gebouwen omver te halen en aantal fatsoenlijke huisjes te bouwen met privacy, dan zou het park aantrekkelijk kunnen worden. We hadden drie nachten geboekt, maar besloten om de derde nacht hier niet meer door te brengen. Mehr
