Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 25. Feb. 2013Das Hotel selbst entspricht einem guten Standard für New Yorker Verhältnisse. Es liegt direkt am Times Square und ist somit zentral zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ab und an war etwas wenig Druck auf der Leitung und das Wasser war zum Teil nur lauwarm, dies ist jedoch verschmerzbar, da es nicht kalt war, sondern lauwarm. Einziges Manko: Kofferaufbewahrung nach Check-Out mit 5,- USD pro Schließfach sehr teuer.

Die Zimmer waren zwar nicht sonderlich groß aber trotz allem war alles vorhanden was man braucht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Nähe zu gleich zwei verschiedenen U-Bahn Stationen ist wirklich top. Vom Hotel aus ist man innerhalb von 10 Minuten am Timesqaure.

Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, die Dusche und Toilette nur durch eine Glasschiebetür und Vorhang vom Rest des Zimmers abgetrennt. Ich hatte mit einem Freund zusammen ein Zimmer mit zwei getrennten Betten. Man sollte sich schon sehr gut kennen, wenn man beim Verrichten seines Geschäfts jedes Geräusch aus der Toilette im Zimmer mithört. Sehr gut war das superschnelle Internet ohne langes Codes und langem Einwählverfahren. Die Rezeption sehr freundlich, aber in diesem Hotel wird eine gewisse Selbstständigkeit des Reisenden erwartet.

"Tolles Hotel. In sicherer Gegend."
Gut erreichbar mit der U-Banh. Zentral gelegen. Auch zu später Stunde noch sicher zu erreichen. Wenn man nach 22 Uhr keine Seitenstrassen läuft und nur auf belebten Hauptstraßen geht, ist die Gegend nicht unsicherer als Manhatten. Kostenloses Internet. Sauberes und schönes Zimmer. Insgesamt ein gutes Hotel mit sehr gutem Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Lobby und Zimmer sind nett modern eingerichtet und für ein drei Sterne Hotel sehr Komfortabel. Die Mitarbeiter waren immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage in Brooklyn ist gut, leider ist die direkte Nachbarschaft nicht schön (war aber nicht schlimm da man sowieso ständig […] unterwegs ist). Metro Anbindung ist Top. Wir waren 3 Nächte mit der Familie in New York im Juli 2011. Aus vorherigen Urlauben in NY wusste ich ein sicheres sauberes Hotel zu einem günstigen Preis ist in NY eigentlich nicht zu finden. Dieses Hotel nun übertraf all unsere Erwartungen. Neu gebaut im Jahr 2011 bekamen wir besten Service und ein modernes Luxushotelzimmer. 2 große Doppelbetten, […] eine große Dusche (wichtig bei Temperaturen über 30 Grad), tollen Zimmerservice, Schwimmbadbenutzung im Hotel nebenan, Bar, Internetzugang, Kaffemaschine im Zimmer, kostenloser Kaffee in der Lobby, Frühstücksmöglichkeit (kostenpfl.) in der Lobby, sehr freundliches Personal, Shuttle-möglichkeit z.B. zum JFK-Flughafen direkt vor der Tür ... Dazu kam noch die ruhige und sichere Lage, kein Taxigehupe (sonst typisch für NY) kein Fluglärm, die perfekte Erholung nach dem turbulenten Stadtbesuch. 5 U-Bahnstationen bis Times Square, was will man mehr ? "Neues, trendiges und komfortables Hotel in der Nähe der Brooklyn Bridge"
Das Hotel ist absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man für ein komfortables Hotelzimmer einen moderaten Preis erwartet. Wir (Mutter und Tochter) hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit 2 großen getrennten Betten im 18. Stock, wunderbarer Aussicht, mehrere Metro Stationen in der Nähe und schöne Restaurants in Laufweite. Allerdings muss man ca. 200 Meter durch eine etwas […] unschöne Gegend laufen, die aber sicher ist, zumindest vor Mitternacht. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl, genossen die Annehmlichkeiten des Hotels und können es auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Allerdings sollte man nicht mit zu viel Gepäck reisen, denn es gibt keinen richtigen Schrank, nur eine Art Garderobe mit einigen Kleiderbügeln. Mega cool, aber nur bezahlbar wg Sondertarif von Expedia. Waren während Hurricane "Irene" da, und da es ab 21:00 Uhr eine Ausgangssperre gab, haben sie ein Spaghettibuffet für die Gäste hingezaubert. Nur eine Verlängerung der Aufenthalt konnten sie nicht zusichern. In der Lobby ist immer viel los, der Indoorpool von dem banachbarten Sheraton kann man […] mitbenutzen und über die Aloft eigene Terrase auf den M-Level erreichen. Top auch die Bar auf den 24. Das Hotel war einfach super. Schön eingerichtete Zimmer, sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Eine schöne Bar im Lobby und eine kleine Snackbar sind vorhanden. Jeden Morgen gibt es kostenlose Tageszeitung und kostnelosen Kaffee. Es sind drei Metrostationen um das Hotel. Das Hotel liegt 100 m von einer Einkaufsstrasse entfernt. Unser Aufenthalt in dem Hotel war sehr positiv! Das Hotel liegt gleich neben zahlreichen subway stations und man ist schnell in Manhatten. Sehr positiv anzumerken ist, dass wir jeden Tag neues Wasser völlig kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen haben. Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre jedoch, einen Kühlschrank einzubauen. The room was very clean, nice and comfortable. The hotel is located near to the next subway station where we could be to middle town in a few minutes. The neighborhood is safe and there are a lot of stores to buy whatever you need. The hotel crew was always very friendly and helpful. There is a PC on the first floor where you have free internet access […] and you can print. The only criticism I have is that the air conditioning was very loud and it's very cold..and when you want to make it warmer it's too warm. "Not what I expected"
I didn't get the room that I paid for, which included a balcony. I actually got an extremely small room. I understand rooms in NY are small but I paid extra for something else and didn't get it. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Aloft. It isn't very far from the Brooklyn Bridge and once you get acquainted with the neighbourhood map, it's easily located. The service was good in terms of interpersonal interactions, it's just that the front desk was slow/understaffed perhaps--several people were leaving early morning and the line got backed up with some folks wanting to check out, some folks wanting breakfast, and some folks wanting a car service...come to think of it, same thing happened when I was checking […] in. Was hard to find the hotel-didn't see there any notice on the hotel's site alerting folks that their GPS may not be accurate due to recent road changes. "two glitches in what was otherwise a good stay"
Aloft in downtown Brooklyn was a good choice given that I needed to be near BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) one nite and near Manhattan the next. The room is small but well designed. the rest of the hotel is hip looking. The two glitches were -- pkg really is around the corner on the next street and depending on tolerance level and ability to shlep […] your bags -- that might be an issue. It was also more expensive than I thought it would be. The other glitch was that a boiler blew, and my last morning I had no hot water. Given that what you want out of a NYC hotel room is a nice bed, a tv, and a hot shower, I wasn't happy. The manager gave me 10,000 Starwood points as compensation, but not until I had received a certain amount of skeptical attitude from another staff member. My last comment is not really a complaint about a glitch but about the by now tired excuse that hotel staff sometimes use of 'well you booked through hotels.com, so we can't....." -- fill in the blank. It's been years, we all know people use third party travel sites to book and I do not ever want to hear a hotel complain about having rooms filled by a third party site. If they wish to offer less than full service for using a third party site, they should state that on their website. Otherwise, treat me like any other guest. "Great alternative"
We enjoyed our stay. A couple blocks from a couple subway stops made it convienent to explore BKLYN and the city. Rooms were clean but very tight and walls were pretty thin. "Great place to stay"
We chose the Aloft after having stayed at the Marriott on previous trips to Brooklyn and not liking that property. The Aloft is a very cool place - the downstairs has a food area and pool table, with a more casual check-in desk than most places. The floors only have 8 rooms per floor, but there are 20+ floors. Our room had a king bed, dresser, desk, […] and nicely done bathroom with a closet, all well arranged in a NYC-size room so that we never felt cramped. The room was very clean and best of all quiet. "Awesome hotel!!"
My husband and I stayed with our two kids ages 6 and 7 for four nights. We really loved this hotel! It was in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn. Everything was within walking distance and it was very close to multiple subway stops. Downtown Manhattan is just a few train stops away. The whole hotel was beautifully decorated and all the staff was friendly […] and helpful. The kids really loved the hotel pool off the rooftop patio. Overall great option if you need to stay near downtown Brooklyn. Easy to walk to almost any of the surrounding neighborhoods like Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, etc. and easy subway access to Manhattan and the airport. Had an overall trendy feel, but wasn't super luxurious. Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were slightly small, but nice […] and clean. I really want to love this hotel. But adjoining doors are paper thin. And my room did have a slight mildewy smell. But overall it more then met my needs. Thankfully I had quiet neighbors. The leaky windows made for some cold drafts, the coffee pods are TERRIBLE, and the remote didn't work. I finally brought remote to front desk. "Small but spacious"
The Aloft is one of an increasing number of trendy, "modern," boutique hotels in Brooklyn. I've stayed at several, and this one has become my favorite, mainly because of the design of the rooms. All the aforementioned hotels have small rooms, but this one is not over-furnished so it seems relatively roomy, and what furnishings it has are very comfortable […] and attractive. Great king-sized bed. I've discovered that too much furniture in one of these small rooms leads to stubbed toes. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions. The surrounding neighborhood is not very attractive, but hotel is located within a couple blocks of 2 subway stops, so getting to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn was pretty easy. The hotel had a fun, funkiness about it. The bed was comfortable. Well used spaced. However, the biggest flaw was the acoustics. I could hear the guy sneezing in the next room.
