You are right in the thick of things, for the price its a great place to stay, we rented a car and only used 4 gallons of gas for 5 days. You can walk anywhere. 2 doors down from Mcdonalds for morning coffee. right across from the beach. Only downfalls office does not open until 9 am and I imagine during spring break it can get pretty loud. Bring your […] own blow dryer and iron if you need one. Staff was very friendly. This is an older hotel, but very clean and comfortable. Clearwater Beach is just across the street! There is a great restaurant right next door and many more within walking distance. We will definetely return and recommend to friends!

We were pretty sure our smoke free room had been a smoking den at one time or another because it was very apparent the minute you opened the door. The 2nd night we were awakened by someone being thrown against the walls and loud shouting. We were afraid to turn on the lights but did find the phone and rang the office at least 5 times in the next 3 hours […] to no avail. When we went to check out the next morning we waited in the office for 15 minutes and no one was there. We emailed the staff when we got back home and they said the emergency phone number was on the back of our door (our kids were so afraid, we dared not turn on a light!). The staff apparently stays off site. They had no excuse for not being in the office at 10 am the morning we were checking out. Also, we set up our reservation on hotels.com and were surprised we had to pay an additional $20 per night for our children even though we had put their ages in when we registered on line. Mehr

First of all, it's called the Ritz Resort. We almost couldn't find it because we were looking for the Westmont Inn. It is family owned and operated - the family is everywhere getting everything done, and quite well, too. Victoria made sure we knew there were cookies and coffee (real milk, too!) available in the office all the time. Is it fancy? Look, […] we came for the beaches and the seafood. We got a clean, quiet, comfortable, well-equipped room to sleep in. You want to pay for a bunch of fancy you will never use, go ahead. Crabby Bill's, a great place for any meal, is three doors down. Frenchy's is next door. (McDonald's is between them, if you must.) The beach is across the street. The trolley picks up in front of Bill's and takes you all over for cheap. And the doors use real keys! We loved it, stayed on two different occasions, 4 nights then 1 night. The 4 nights were perfect. Our room the second part was slightly less perfect - the refrigerator and a/c were both noisy and cycled a lot. Had that been the 4-day stay, we'd have gotten a different room. But for one night, it didn't matter. They are obviously in the process of upgrading the place; both room were clearly newly remodeled. Oh, and it's very homey, too. Place mats on our table, silk flowers on the nightstand. Oh, and free internet by Beachnet everywhere in Clearwater Beach. If you stay at the Ritz, tell Victoria we said Hi and we'll be back! Mehr

Sure, the Ritz dates from the 1950's but it's clean, the room was a good size, and oh, the location! When you factor in that parking is included, this is an excellent value. Clearwater Beach with its gorgeous white sand is steps away. Lots of restaurants and small groceries are close by, so you can park the car at the Ritz and leave it. It's very convenient […] to have the small kitchenette in the room. Mehr
