Olympia Lodge - Pacific Grove

im november 2011 wieder in der Olympia Lodge Pacific Grove. innerhalb von ca. 15 Jahren der 5. Aufenthalt dort,und irgendwie kommen wir immer wieder dorthin wenn die Gegend ansteht. das olympia jetzt mit etwas neurem outfit . nett und gelungen und bestimmt ein grund auch beim nächsten mal wieder dort abzusteigen.... sehr symphatisch und einfach nur […] zum Wohlfühlen..... We came to Olympia Lodge, having stayed right next door before, expecting a pleasant, no-frills stay. We had two major disappointments. 1. On the hotels.com listing the "King Balcony Room" was listed as having a "Partial Ocean View." This is not the case. Only the rooms with "Ocean View" in the title have a view. We had a parking lot view. Still, it […] was nice to have the balcony, as there are lots of woodpeckers and other interesting birds in the neighborhood. 2. Wifi was very spotty in our room, and the desk staff seemed unconcerned about that. It's really not a frill for us, especially since our cell reception was also bad in the room. We made it into an internet vacation, but would have planned differently (brought DVDs instead of planning to stream Netflix, for example) had we known. Otherwise, the room was clean, if noisy (being on the lower floor and the end of the building, with a staircase right outside the wall) and a little musty smelling (not that rare in this foggy area). Our room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the people were friendly. The deer feeding just outside were an added bonus!

The staff is very friendly and helpful - close to the beach (walking distance) - Rooms remodeled and very clean and comfortable - Next to a great restaurant Overall very good stay - would stay there again Very reasonable rates

the TV is not working and really bad internette connection. The worst thing is the door. it was big two panels of glss door and really hard to open. you can see through inside even though there are blinds and can hear people.

So cute and cozy! This hotel is very nice. Will go back!!!

We stayed in a standard queen room. It was cramped and the bathroom was tiny. Their was no window to open for air. The door was a sliding glass door directly in front of our beds. It did have shutters but felt like no privacy. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was fine. The hotel was clean and the management was very friendly but the photos looked a lot nice than the actual room and lobby (they always do). It was just your typical motel. The breakfast was a "Full Continental Breakfast" but aside from apples and bananas there was no other fruit served. The pool was under renovation so my daughter was disappointed. Location […] was great- close to the ocean. I don't know what the other hotels in the area looked like but i'm sure there are nicer "Motels" that are nicer than the Olympia Lodge. Mehr

We had a great stay at Olympia Lodge. It is right near the beach and a nice quiet place to stay.

Warm personality from the proprietor, and a nice continental breakfast (assorted breads and pastries, oatmeal, yogurt, peanut butter, nutella, cream cheese, fruit)...it really makes a difference when you can have a balanced breakfast in the morning. Comfortable and nicely appointed rooms with clean, modern decor. Each room is accessed via (locking) […] sliding glass door (with shutters over it), so if you're really concerned about security, this lack of a solid door may make you nervous. It's such a quiet neighborhood though, I can't imagine you would ever be in danger. Walking distance to Asilomar conference center, if you like a little exercise in the morning (about 1 mile). Plenty of menus in the lobby for local restaurants that deliver. Mehr

I stayed for a week here and have nothing negative to say. Its a nice quiet residential area. Sometimes when the waves crash hard u can hear them from the hotel. My kind of place.

great walking area, near the beach, lighthouse and quiet...

The Olympia was a pretty decent place. The room was nicely furnished, comfortable, great views, abd located in a fantastic area. My only issue is with the state of the bathroom. Though it was clean, it was a also very outdated with low water pressure. Other wise a great place for the price we paid.

I spoke to the hotel to advise of late check in (if you call 9:30pm late.) the women in the office was just about to close up but kindly helped me retrieve my key from the lock box before leaving. We found our ok, and found it colder inside the room than outside. I just feel that if the hotel already knows what room they're going to give upon late check […] in they should at least have the temperature at a comfortable setting. Just a thought. Mehr

All i want on a one night stay is a good shower and comfortable room. I got a four foot shower, I'm over six feet and a antiqaded climate control. I think it was a wall heater. room was clean, staff friendly. probably a better bet in the summer.

Nice hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. I would stay there again.

This hotel is not a very nice hotel. Needs lots of remodeling n so out dated. The rooms do not look anything like the pictures. I was not happy with my stay:(

Outside is attractive and inviting. Had to request different room as downstairs room had a sliightly musty odor. Beds comfy, room clean, bathroom small, TV remote did not work, employees very friendly and helpful.

Can't wait to stay again!

The Olympia Lodge was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet, reasonably priced hotel near the ocean with sweet, comfortable rooms. The beds were comfy and the room had the best hair dryer I've seen in a hotel. The surrounding area is not particularly interesting, but it's a quick walk to the lighthouse and beach and a quick drive to Monterey.

i think they are not change bed cover when i use bed, i found too many hair and something in our bed cover .. we tried called service but nobody answer the phone after 10pm i.m not recoment to my friend ...

Clean room. VERY partial ocean view, you don't want to pay an extra for ocean view. WiFi wasn't working half of the time. And you can hear people in other rooms, especially people walking on the room over you. But room was large, bed comfortable and service was nice.

PG i safe and cozy. Close to PG restaurants and PG Golf Links. Few minutes walk to the water. Very safe area. Def. recommendable.

The best part of our stay was the guest services. Everyone was extremely friendly and really made us feel like home! On the first night we arrived, we were welcomed to a hotel employee/guest holiday party in the lobby. It was very nice mingling with everyone and enjoying the home made food and buffet. The hotel room amenities were a bit dated, so don't […] expect a flat screen tv. We were hoping to sleep on a Tempurpedic bed, but our room didn't have one. The patio was nice. I was able to sit on the deck and drink my morning coffee. The view was not as expected. The photos are a bit misleading. We faced the coast on the second floor(of 3), but there are mostly trees with a partial view of the ocean. Lastly, the most surprising part of our visit were the resident deer! It was fun to wake up and walk outside to watch deer munching on moss within a stone's throw of your room. Apparently, they are not afraid of people so "drive safely" in this area of Pacific Grove! Location was great, view was exceptional. Hotel is very dated for the price. Maintenance is lacking...need to trade out broken shades for Blackout Drapes. Otherwise, nice stay.

It is located at a beautiful place. It is easy to find and we felt very safe there. There is a nearby, sweet little cinema about 3 mins drive away.

Great views, location, and room. Can not get a better bed at home! Enjoyed being so close to the coast and sunset drive..

Stayed here to be close to Big Sur and it worked out wonderfully. This hotel was comfortable and perfect for my needs.

Superb room....airy , spacious and extremely confortable. Good breakfast and easy to find especialy if youve just done the 17 mile drive.....a must!

We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay. We could see and hear the ocean and watch sunsets from our balcony. The beach is a quick walk from the hotel. The staff is exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. We hope to return again!

It was a nice place for a quick romantic getaway. The room was clean and spacious. It was a bit off the path - and while the walk to the downtown area was easy, the (slightly uphill) walk back was tougher. But we were very close to the water, as well as a quick stroll through the nearby Butterfly habitat. The hotel doesn't have all the amenities of […] a big hotel - but it was clean, quiet and safe. Up eleven cement steps to dimly lit long hallway to a glass door without a regular handle to a cold room and a potty designed for small children, no elevator tiny one cubic foot refrigerator and a long walk to down town. i have stayed in pacifc grove before but never again

this hotel was very good indeed i would highly recommend it ,not too far out of town the location was excellent the room very confortable with balconies the breakfast was superb the best we had in all hotels we stayed inthis hotel id very special

My family chose this hotel because of the location and overall price. The location was OK, but the view stunk! An ocean VIEW room was not very accurate! Also there is no A/C so when we walked in our room was HOTTER THAN HOT!! We opened the patio door and front door only to let in the flies! We were promised a room with a balcony and either a view of the ocean or the pool. (The pool was closed and not clean, so this was not really an option.) We got neither, our room was located on a main walkway next to the coke and ice machine. The only opening into the room (which I question the legality of this) was a sliding glass door. If you wanted […] ventilation, you were subject to all passersby looking directly into your room. The parking was limited, every space on steep angles and hard to access. When we checked in the water had been turned off and no one at the time of check in notified us of this. We had to go down to the office to find out what the problem was.
