Best Western Plus Envy Downtown Inner Harbor - Baltimore

the hotel was nice, but there were a few complcations. first, we were put into one room where the a/c did not work and there was not a remote for the tv. we called at least 3 times and never recieved the remote and then the next day, we were switched to another room that had working a/c. however the bed was broken and slanted to one side. also, later […] in the evening, there was an intense smell of marijuana coming through the vents, that was eventually followed by the smell of cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant at best. it was a decent location in terms of proximity to the inner harbor, but the constant police presence on the corner at night could be seen as either comforting or scary. some workers were very nice, one worker was completely rude.... i slightly question the cleanliness of my room, there was hair in the shower and on my pillowcase... although it was only about 5 blocks from the inner harbor i feared for my life to make the walk to and from the water, restaurants, and bars. you must walk through the utter ghetto which […] is not specified when this hotel comes up as an inner harbor hotel. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Good for a place to stay if you are not alone. I would not choose this hotel because of location if you are staying Baltimore alone.

This hotel was very close to the inner harbor and all of baltimores great attractions, although this hotel also had the bus stop directly in front of it's entrance which made coming in an out a little uncomfortable. The room was a good size, king bed, flat screen tv, refrigerator, etc BUT when we got there we immediately pulled down the covers to check […] the sheets and sure enough there was a stain. Then I checked the bathroom and there I found a USED bar of soap still in the shower ( to me this meant the shower was not cleaned very well). I then called the front desk to let them know, thinking they would come up and clean our room and put on fresh sheets, nope, instead housekeeping knocked on our door and handed me a bottom sheet and a new bar of soap and told me that I could change the sheets myself. We were very taken back by that an not happy. Good thing my friend and I have a good sense of humor and laughed it off, changed the sheet and went out to the inner harbor. Thank god we were only staying one night. Oh and there was a weird string of lights above the bed that change fluorescent colors. Not a place I would stay again. Mehr

The neighborhood was shady and we were afraid to go out after dark. The lobby is no bigger than a shoe box, the trash cans were overflowing in the lobbty and the halls our entire stay. Our room was supposed to have a microwave and did not. Breakfast was served in a room in the basement and cooked in a "storage closet". Their breakfast room had seating […] for only 10 people. The bathroom door in our room was broken and could not be closed unless locked from the inside, the message light flashed our entire stay even after we asked them to turn if off. A red blining light kept us awake half the night. Lastly, we packed so quickly to get out of there that we left an expensive item in our room. Afte getting half way home we realized it and called the Hotel. Long and short of it... one of the maids found it, did not report it and it was found in a linen closet (hoping we wouldnt call about it I guess??). The only positive thing I can say is that one manager moved heaven and earth to find our belonging and make sure it was sent to us. THIS STAY WAS A DISASTER Mehr

Morning front desk attendant was horrible - sat in the lounge watching the TV and listening to i-pod. He did not get up to help customers until he was directly approached and even then had an argumentative attitude towards us as well as the customers behind us. Did not give a receipt and refused to print one out or give any explanation of why not. Also, […] the bathroom door did not latch, the sink bowl leaked onto the carpet and there were was not enough lighting. Also, the maid service entered the room despite the do not disturb placard hanging on the door knob. Yes it is cheaper than the Sheraton, but not by enough to constitute this level of disappointment. If you are looking for a less expensive hotel, this one will do. It is not particularly good or well decorated, but the price was right and it was close to the Baltimore convention center. Not a place for a nice vacation, though. Breakfast was good and staff friendly, but they didn't have regular coffee for my room and couldn't get any. I chose this for it's cheap price and convenience of location. There is a public garage nearby or meter street parking. Looks old from inside. Has a light above bed that changes colors from blue/red/white, felt psychedelic. I just turned it off. Bed was comfy. Was quite. My problem was the shower. The drain is super slow, so the tiny shower, (like twice […] the tiny size of a trailer shower), quickly overflows and then your bathroom floor is soaked. there's also no tray to put your soaps, so I hid them uptop since my feet were treading the water. I thought it was just my room, so I requested a room change. I got it. But the shower situation was still the same, still flooded, but nasty part was when I first inspected the shower, there was short hairs all over the shower floor, like men's chest hair. And one of the sliding doors was broken. I thought i was going to fall off but it didn't. Would I stay here again? sure. Eh, I'd probably still try and find another place but it did its job, was cheaper then other hotels around and I slept well. Mehr

Good Stay. Nice breakfast. Few blocks easy walk to Inner Harbor and the sightseeing. No parking included though. Checked in Friday pm and checked out Sunday am and parking cost us roughly $80. add that to the rate and there are more reasonable rates right on the harbor with parking included. I travel for work, and this hotel is not good. I usually stay at nicer places, but I thought "best western, probably good...?" No. Not good. The first room they tried to give me had a door that had been kicked in... and repaired extremely poorly (the door didn't close and the lock "plate" was held on by two loose screws). The person at the front desk […] was not at all phased with giving me a new room, so it wasn't an abberation from the norm. When you turn on the light in the room, it's like someone on drugs decided that every room should have a mutlicolored strobe light in it above the bed. Why?! Seriously- Why?! (both rooms I had- had this wonderful ammenity) The bathroom sink has a faucet too big for the basin- wonderful if you want to soak yourself. The property is located on a bus stop. Not nearyby- literally on a bus stop. You get to hear the wonderful busses and honking at all hours... and the wonderful "bus people" congregate at the hotel entrance. Not going to stay here again. There are alternatives nearby and worth the extra price. Also, this last tid-bit. PARKING IS NOT FREE AND NOT ON THE PROPERTY. You must park a block away (public parking) and pay at least a quarter of a hundred (can use monitary amounts on here) a day. Pick another place. Mehr

The rom was small felt like being in a shoe box to me it's not worth the money . I went to make coffee and found a dry up filter in the filter basket to me that was discussing also they had strobe light on the calling so you could relax with a light on so me it's not worth going back there but that's your choice me I would go back to that hotel or the […] area Mehr

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, the gal at the desk was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel has been remodeled and our room was very nice with special lighting and a funky "bowl" sink at the vanity. Our stay included a good breakfast, which was very good. Nice but in a shady neighborhood.

I AM VERY HAPPY TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL. BREAKFAST IS GOOD, REALLY LIKE THEIR CLEANLINESS WITH THE UV LIGHT AND FRIENDLY STAFFS.

This hotel made me feel like I was rich and lived in a nice building. The only problem was the parking in garages that cost so much to park. The hotel was great and comfortable.

If you can find it in your heart to excuse the lady at the front desk CLEARLY having a bad day, make it past the fact that the entire hotel is smoke free and advertised otherwise, or that the picture displayed as the outside of the hotel is not the hotel your looking for at all, then I would say your gonna love your stay. Overall great. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Location was good. Very central to everything. Front desk person was very helpful and friendly. Stayed here for 2 nights. The only complaint is that there was some weird smell, possibly from the vent (maybe someone from the other room was smoking, although it is supposed to be non-smoking all around the hotel) […] at night time. The room was disgusting. The toilet seat was dirty and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned, the shower had hair in it, and the bed had hair in it. The staff at check-in was unfriendly and not helpful. I will never go there again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is okay ,isn't the best , but its alrite for what I wanted it for , after 3 to 4 nights , u will have enough not bad at all, good for the price choice , I would go back again in the future.

The hotel is not located on the best street in Baltimore. Take a cab there and back, as there is nothing to see. But is close to downtown, and near to upper Charles Street where there are lots of restaurant and the Walters Museum. The staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was the usual, which was fine. I just need fuel to start the day.

my first day at the hotel was very good. love the location love this service. only thing that I wish that they had was a walk in shower in the king bedroom suite. other than that perfect

Room was nice in a small, european way. But neighborhood is unsavory and hotel entrance is on dark street right next to Burger King and bus stop which means plenty of sketchy folks hanging around. More than once, people told me to be careful and not go out past dark. Not recommended for a single business woman. Would not stay there again.

This hotel would not honor the hotels.com reservation. When we went to check in, the gentleman first told us they had rooms and then later on told us that they did not have our room. Very little communication from the desk clerk. Horrible experiance.

My friend and I stay frequently in the Baltimore area, and found the best western plus and was very happy with our stay. The Best Western cannot do anything about the area it is located in but the building doors lock after 2:00am, close by parking(which you have to pay for, 18 bucks for 24 hours). Our room was smaller than most rooms we book in the […] Baltimore area, but it was clean and comfortable. Would stay again. Mehr

I rolled into the city on a Saturday afternoon and found onstreet parking across the street. There was a city lot a few hundred feet away that I figured I'd leave my car at overnight, but I just paid the meter and left it there for the duration of my stay and it was fine. Check-in was fast and without hassle, the room was clean and small, but not in […] a bad way. It reminds me of a European hotel. If you need to do gymnastics in the room, this hotel might not be for you. The view was just an air shaft, but it's not like I asked for a high floor nor really needed a view. The area was dead at around 6 or so, even the Walgreen's across the street and the Burger King next door closed early. There were people waiting for buses, but that's about it for life in the area. Because of the size of the room, it both cooled and heated very quickly, which, of course is a plus. It's so cheap and centrally located though, that I'll gladly go back. Mehr

Parking isn't free which seems ridiculous for downtown baltimore. I had to pay an extra $50 out of pocket just to stay at the hotel.

From the street this hotel is kinda scetchy, but once you walk through the front doors the atmosphere completely changed. The room was Great and super clean. We loved our stay.

Very reasonable price and convenient to inner harbor. Still new and comfortable with their bed.

My husband and I were looking for a lil vacation away from the house and kids. We are always working & needed a load off in a nice comfy hotel not far from home. When we got there, the Location was cool but there was no parking and the hotel staff had no knowledge of the surrounding garages and on street parking. They couldned tell us anything. The […] room was so small that my my husband who is 6'5' 300 lbs couldnt even turn around. The girl at the desk gave us another room which was the same size but had a lil connecting hallway that made it a lil easier. The comp breakfast looked like someone took it out of a trash can. The lobby was a lil small room with a love seat and 13 inch TV. The hotel and rooms had nice decor but I will never stay here again. It was aterrible choice. Mehr

Convenient location for downtown needs. Good hotel with helpful people.

The hotel stay was excellent considering how much we paid. The room was clean and comfortable; the style was modern and roomy. Highlights: The free breakfast was awesome! Loved it! Lowlights: The elevator, just one elevator for the entire building. We found ourselves walking down the stairs frequently. At least we were just on the 2nd floor. It was […] a little further from downtown than we were hoping for; however, it was a great way to exercise and the police presence around the neighborhood made us feel safe walking around at 11pm. Im sure we would have paid more to stay somewhere closer so if I had the choice I would stay here again. Mehr

This is a well priced hotel with a central location. Nothing fancy - clean and comfortable - good value for money. Friendly, helpful front desk staff.

Are you kidding, I am glad you asked of my stay. I stay on the road in three star hotels a few times a week. Upon arrival at the Best Western I had to wait for 20 minutes while an other guest argued the billing and location of their room. I arrived at the tiny tiny room with a window overlooking pigeon droppings on a rooftop fan. the room was no larger […] than a 12 by 12, no desk or work areas the bed took up most of the room. No soap and no towels. The neighborhood was seedy, I was panhandled at least three times every time I left the property and the sex trade on the corner is very visible. My usual hotel was booked and the Hotel.com rep suggested this was a great value. Value is quality and price no just price. Regards, J Mehr

I stayed two nights and the room was probably the smallest I've ever been in. The accomodations and service were OK and the continental breakfast was very nice. Most dissapointed that most soda machines were sold out and they didn't replenish coffee in-room for second day.
