Hotel Saint George - Iguaçu

Hotel ist ganz OK, entspricht aber keinem 4* Niveau. Außerdem gibt es gerade (Dez.2011) eine Megabaustelle, da das Hotel erweitert wird und wir hatten das Zimmer direkt neben der Baustelle. Der Pool und der gesamte Außenbereich sind OK, allerdings wird das Vergnügen derzeit auch vom Baustellenlärm und -staub beeinträchtigt. Very decent hotel conveniently located right across from bus station and taxis. We arrived early in the morning but the staff were helpful and organised us early checkins. Rooms were comfortable and neat. Only slight issue was they don't offer irons in rooms, but then again if you not a business traveller that shouldn't be an issue. The SG hotel location is great just across from Bus terminal where you can take the local buses to the falls, Ciudad del Este en Paraguay or Foz de Iguazu, Brazil. Great restaurants across the St. Colors, loved it life music and great food. If you d like to enjoy the best stake or parilla in town go to "El Kincho del Tio Querido." Get there before 8pm […] or have to wait in a very long line. Bakery in town, best pastries and amazing coffe "El Arbol Real." located on Avenida Principal diagonal to the town hospital, in case you get sick of the hotel breakfast, my favourites was the local sandwich called "pasqualinas." Dated interior but comfortable room if rather dated interior. Nice pool area and very convenient convenient location is a plus.

I had a great stay at Saint George. They had a pool, decent breakfast, clean comfortable rooms. But I would say the best part would be the helpful staff. My flight out of Iguazu got cancelled and the guy at the front desk called the airline for me to get it sorted out which took probably the better part of an hour. He was so patient and helpful, I probably […] wouldn't have gotten it figured out had he not been. Flying down there was a nightmare for me, specifically since I spoke no spanish, so they were truly lifesavers. I would have been stranded in Iguazu for days!!! I highly recommend staying there. The hotel is just across the road from the main bus station and a couple of very nice restaurants. It also has a good restaurant attached.The pool was welcome after a long day out at the falls. Take the local bus to the Argentina side, but take a taxi the Brazil side.

This hotel has a wonderful location and a great pool. I had read a lot of reviews before making the reservation and they are pretty spot on. There had been complaints about the front desk, which it appears they are trying to correct, since we found them trying hard. The little town has some nice restaurants and since we were there for 3 days, we did […] not want to take cabs in and out of town. I particularly recommend La Rueda restaurant which was incredibly good for such a small town. It was 95 degrees and the air conditioner worked o.k. but not we'll enough. They have a variety of rooms with a variety of prices, so make sure you get what you want. I do not recommend their cheaper rooms. Mehr

The location is perfect being across the road from the bus station from where frequent buses go to the falls (for 10 pesos each way) and tours to the Brazilian side can be arranged. Convenient choice for seeing the Falls. Staff helpful, all spoke English. Don't let the fact that the bus stop is across the street stop you from choosing this hotel. It's a big plus. The station is set back out of sight and it's the least expensive way to get to the falls. Cabs cost $20 each way. Very nice hotel with pool and plenty of other amenities. Across the street from bus station with the buses that take you to Iguazu Falls. Internet was not working during our stay, but likely not the fault of the hotel. Other free WiFi internet could be found. We were upgraded to a master room for no charge. Overall, very satisfied.

We arrived from Buenos Aires by bus and walked across the road to the hotel. Th reception staff were so helpful in all aspects covering trips,. telephones etc We were given an upgrade to a room witjh a small balcony which was superb. We needed to stay an extra night. This was arranged with aminimum of fuss albeit it was an overflow room in which everthing […] worked. For the ones who prefer staying in the Argentinian side of the triple border, this hotel is situated in a very central area of Puerto Iguazu. Right in front of the bus terminal and close to nice restaurants. But wait..... Despite the nice location, Saint George is going through remodeling, so you must be aware that the beautiful nice photos they "sell" […] at their website or hotels.com, are not what you might end up getting. I emailed them in advance confirming everything but, at check-in we had an unpleasant surprise. The room they gave me and my girlfriend, was EXTREMELY poor and badly maintained! Totally different from what they present online. On top of that, two single beds instead of a queen size and the shower was terrible! In excuse, they offered us dinner. That made us change our plans and try their restaurant. Not a pleasant choice considering there are great places to eat, walking distance. BOTTOM LINE: The romantic night I planned for our anniversary was destructed by their lies, taking advantage of false advertisement to promote the hotel. We accepted the – not so good – dinner... so what? No options were given to us whatsoever. They simply downgraded us on the grounds that the hotel is under remodeling process and rooms I was supposed to stay were all occupied. BAD BAD EXPERIENCE!!!! (Thanks God it was for one night only. We had an outstanding stay at the St. George in Puerto Iguazu. The hotel is located conveniently just a block from the bus station. Lujan at the front desk warmly greeted us in English and shared the good news that 1 - we were being upgraded to a larger room and 2 - we were able to check in early and right away. This was very good news after a 22 hour […] bus ride from Cordoba. While this is something you cannot count on, it is one of the great advantages to traveling during the low season. She booked an Adventure Tour for us later in the afternoon and provided detailed instructions on how to get to the park and where to go for our boat tour. The room was very nice and quiet at night, beds were comfortable and Lujan, Joann, and the rest of the staff was friendly and so helpful to us. Nice pool! We would not hesitate staying there again! By Argentinian standards this is a nice hotel. But it needs some work to be what I would consider a resort hotel. The carpets are buckeling both in the halls and in the rooms and were dirty in my room. Defiinitely bring flip flops to shower - it's a wooden slat floor. It has toiletries and a hair dryer. Pool area is nice but the jacuzzi looked murky.Staff […] is very friendly and very helpful(they called a shuttle for me to return to the airport), breakfast buffet was super - eggs, meats, breads, fruit etc. Bring a sleep mask - the a/c had a bright blue light shining when it's on. Great central location - walk to town and 1/2 block from the bus station. Take the municipal bus for $10 to Iguazu Falls - it takes 1/2 hour and runs all the time with lots of tourists. Take a shuttle in from the airport for 1/4 the price of a taxi. Lots of restaurants nearby. I'd stay here again - I just wish it hadn't been so expensive but it's a tourist town. Very convient, across the stree from bus depot which allows easy access to the Argenitian side of the falls. Good breakfasts.

Nous y étions une bonne vingtaine et n'avons pas eu à nous plaindre de quoi que ce soit. On pourrait juste remarquer que le petit-déjeuner, bien que à volonté, n'a pas eu la qualité des précédents de notre séjour, pourtant dans des hôtels de catégorie inférieure. De même signalons une défaillance côté barman, tous leurs barmen ne sont pas des pro... […] et vous pouvez vous retrouver avec un verre avec quasi-rien à boire. Mehr

Hôtel très confortable avec une superbe piscine, nous avons eu la chance d'être surclassé. Proximité du parc national IGAUZU a 30 min en bus (arrêt a 100m de l’hôtel).

Para las excursiones por propia cuenta la ubicación frente al terminal de buses es inmejorable. Existe un pequeño supermercado y varios muy buenos restaurante dentro del radio de solo dos cuadras. イグアス国立公園に行くバスターミナルのすぐ近くにあり、周辺には沢山のレストラン、お土産店があるので不自由なく過ごせます。ホテルスタッフは英語が通じ、とても親切です。朝食の種類が豊富で、とても美味しかったです。

Muy buena experiencia. Tiene una ubicacion privilegiada ya que esta en el centro y proximo a la estacion de colectivos lo que te permite a aquellos que vamos sin vehiculo acceder facilmente a los colectivos que te llevan a las distintas atracciones turisticas como ser las cataratas. Muy buena la atencion y ademas cuenta con un restaurante muy bueno […] con una excelente relacion entre precio y comida.Lo recomiendo 100% Mehr

Dersom du ikke vil bo inne i nasjonalparken ligger hotellet sentralt i byen med hyggelige restauranter og butikker like ved. Busstasjonen ligger rett over veien for hotell med busser til vannfallene både på argentinsk og brasiliansk side. Este hotel no es un 4 estrellas, el servicio no es de calidad, pedimos repararan la ducha pues se filtrabe el ague en el piso y nunca lo hicieron, pedimos facilidades de uso de internet pues yo no tenia wireless y tampoco se nos facilito, el desalluno no tiene ni siquiera quien cocine huevos. Una muy buena ubicacion acompañado desde sus instalaciones hasta su personal

Muy buena experiencia vivimos en el hotel. El hotel cuenta con mucho espacio de esparcimiento y relax. Pequeña biblioteca con libros en muchos idiomas, zonas en donde mirar TV, internet, gimnasio, etc. Es hermosa la zona de la piscina, barra y área del patio rodeado de abundante arboleda.

Nice place, but they did'nt had any couple bed, so we had to accept a twin bed and they join the beds the day after, the bath room was ok but the warm water was dificult to manage correctly, meaning sometimes we burn ourself. the breaksfast was not very good and the breakfast schedule neither, it was more a break fast that a break feast ... the restaurant […] was bad with few options ... compared to the AQUA restaurant EXCELENT and creative in the same street at 50 meters from the hotel....fantastic AQUA restaurant to try absolutely....anyway a very nice place, decoration and room to be refreshed to be very nice, the people was very helpfull, but sometimes not very professional .. it's a nice geographical localization near everything you could need, and near the center of the nice town of puerto iguazu !!! better the hotel in in front of the "Terminal Omnibus" from where you can travel to anywhere in the region at a very good price... it was a standard room, and the other kind of room maybe worth the price (during carnival holidays). Another aspect is to try to go absolutely to the Argentina Iguazu waterfalls, really better (without comparison) to the Brazilian ones... exceptional nature park in the argentina side, with great organization, infrastructure, and really clean place !! and real good promotion (the day after you pay half the price stamping the entry tickets when you left).
