Sehr nettes Hotel, sehr zentral gelegen mit sauberen großen Zimmern en suite. Würde es jederzeit weiter empfehlen und auch selbst dort wieder übernachten. Reichhaltiges Frühstück (warmes und kaltes), full Irish breakfast und kontinental. Freundliche Bewirtung und gratis Wifi wurden gerne genossen.

Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb der City schön am Galway Bay gelegen. Die Hauptstraße vor dem Hotel und der Vergnügungspark für Kinder nebenan störten uns nicht. Das Hotel ist schon ein paar Tage alt, macht aber trotzdem einen gepflegten Eindruck. Die Funktionalität der Badezimmereinrichtung entspricht allerdings deutschem Standard der 70er Jahre. Das Frühstück ist auf angelsächischen Bedarf zugeschnitten, bei viel Besuchern vom Festland könnte es schnell beim continental breakfast zu Engpässen kommen. Wir konnten aber nicht klagen und waren mit dem Angebot zufrieden. Schade fanden wir, dass uns von der Reception ein Touroperator für den Tagsausflug zu den Cliffs of Moher empfohlen wurde, der sein Geld nicht wert war.

mein Bus vom Airport Dublin kam gegen 23 Uhr nach Galway, der naechste Bus ging am Morgen nach Carraroe, also uebernachtete ich im Hostel inm Schlafsaal in Galway. Die Lage ist ideal, es gibt abends Ausgehmoeglichkeiten und am morgen war ich zui DFuss am Bus, sauber, etwas skurril, absolut empfehlenswert.

Eins der besten Hotels. Für preisbewusste Gäste zwar nicht preiswert aber wer Irland-Hotelpreise kennt, bekommt die Qualität zu spühren. Etwa 20 min mit dem PKW bis zur Citty von Galway.
Für zusätzliche Personen können Gebühren anfallen, die abhängig von den Bestimmungen des Hotels variieren können.
Beim Check-in werden ein Lichtbildausweis und eine Kreditkarte oder eine Kaution in bar für unvorhergesehene Aufwendungen verlangt.

"Nettes, solides Mittelklassehotel."
Wir haben hier zweimal im April 2012 übernachtet. Es handelt sich um ein solides, sauberes Mittelklassehotel. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gut ausgestattet, mit Ausnahme des Bads, das relativ alt und abgenutzt war. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, insbesondere im Hotelpub. Hotel was lovey and staff could not have been more accommodating. The only downfall was that we needed to get a taxi to and from the city centre.

The Menlo Hotel was very conveant to NUi where we were attending an launch and this was why we picked it. The Menlo was quited dated but very clean and confortable. the night reception staff very helpful and friendly, however we did not recive the same level of attention by the morning staff (female) they were somewhat disinterested. Breakfast was disappointing. […] the waiter took our order of porrage, 2 slices of Bacon, 2 Tomatoes and mushrooms plus bacon, egg,sausage. and two full irish for two guest. The porrage was very cold and had to be heated up, bacon cold , sausages instade of tomatoes which were exchanged and warm, mushrooms lovely. My friends breakfast was luke warm also. we did not bother to complain at the time. it not not worth upsetting ourselves and let it pass. Overall and despite the breakfast we enjoyed the Menlo and would tell our friends it's a handy place to stay if you accepted minor setbacks. Mehr

All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly & helpful. They helped make our stay a restful & relaxing break. We found the location of the hotel very convenient for Galway city centre & Connemara. We would definitely recommend the Menlo Park to friends & would stay there again ourselves.

Our room was above the hotel bar, which seems to be the local pub for many people who live in the surrounding area which is fine. However, there was a DJ / Band playing till around 3am which meant it was fairly difficult to get some sleep. We would have complained when we were checking out, but the receptionist did not ask how our stay was. Would […] not stay here again. Mehr

Hotel is 5 minutes from the city, the food in the bar was top class, we both had a chicken wrap with chips and honestly couldnt fault it. there was a carvery lunch option but felt like a lighter lunch. we booked a superior room, the standard room was cheaper, there was not much difference in the rooms in all honesty. I brought this to the attention […] of the receptionist, who could not have been nicer, more helpful or friendly. She offfered us an upgrade to the bridal suite which was fabulous. in the room there was a lovely big four post bed, couch and the room was perfect for a lovely night away. in the bathroom was a big jacuzzi bath, a powerful shower and some nice plants. I could not highly enough recommend this hotel or its friendly staff. Also each room has a basket of fesh fruit which makes for a nice surprise. Mehr

"Great hotel if you can get good rate"
Hotel is about 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of city (and driving into centre with one way streets and parking can be a nightmare so do walk) with free parking. The room we had was comfortable, clean and equipped with everything we needed. The wifi is free and very fast provided you aren't too far from a router. The front desk staff were very helpful […] and efficient. The carvery lunch in the bar was tasty but probably overpriced for what you get. They offer a room upgrades (for extra cost) and I suspect that those rooms have been recently renovated. Mehr

We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the Race Course and for it's 4 star rating. It was clearly evident that this hotel was quite tired and really did not merit 4 star rating. The pricing for two nights reflected the fact that it was Galway Race Week and while we accepted this - we did not get value for money. Our Room decor was excellant, […] However there was no mini bar. The standard of cleanliness left a lot to be desired. It was apparent that the room had not had a thorough cleaning for some time as there was dust behind the bed, wardrobes etc. The bathroom area was very dusty around the radiator. There was none of the usual toiletries one would expect in a 4 star hote.On arrival there was no shower gel in the despense affixed to the wall. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel and would consider it to be a poor 3 star. Mehr

Nice Hotel, in walking distance to citiy center. We slept on the street site, where they started really early to change barrels of beer. Overall absolutely good price for value.
"An Average Hotel in the suburbs"
Stayed at the Menlo Park during the Galway Music Festival. The location is not bad if you dont mind the 20 minute walk into town. The location is noisy right next to a busy roundabout. The hotel and restaurant are crowded with noisy eldery bus tour groups. The hotel landscaping crew began using noisy weedwackers outside our room at 6:30AM. The staff […] was friendly. Next time we'll try one of the many bed and breakfasts in the area. The room was no better than a below average hotel chain in the states but cost nearly 3 times as much during festival week. Mehr

I have stayed in the Menlo Park hotel on several occasions at this stage. I have found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the customers comfort and satisfaction. They are always extremely polite and friendly. Very comfortable, staff were very professional and helpful. The twin room was large with a great ensuite and huge beds. The only drawback was the walking distance from the city centre (about 25 mins walk), but with a car it's ideal.

Staff are exceptionally polite helpful and friendly at this hotel. Loved the cinnamon pancakes! Great hotel for business or pleasure, Will return.
Helpful staff. Convenient for out of town excursions but not if you want to stay in the heart of Galway. Beds could be more comfortable but overall a positive experience

We stayed at the Menlo Park for 2 nights and found it to be a lovely hotel, nicely renovated (we stayed in a superior king room) although the hotel itself appeared to be older. The bed was very comfortable and there was an unending supply of pillows! They delivered complimentary fresh fruit and bottled water daily which was a nice touch. It took about […] 20mins to wander into town but we felt it was worth it for the peace and quiet of not being right in the heart of the city. The breakfast was fine, and the service always friendly. "Not at all in the city"
The hotel was fine and the service in the breakfast was fine. However the hotels own homepage says they are a few minutes walk from city center - not so much. So trust the description on hotels.com not on the webpage. The receptionist that cheked us in was clearly on automat.
Thank you for your feedback. We are located opposite the Pillo Hotel on the same roundabout. Beside this is the Dunnes Stores Terryland Shopping Area which is accross another roundabout from the main shopping centre which approaches the city centre. We are located one mile or 1.5 KM from the city centre. There is a regular bus service and taxi freephone. Customers like the fact that we have easy access and free parking - especially since we are so near the centre. I am especially sorry that you found the receptionist to be on "automat"as this is definitely one of the areas we usually score highest on... so a big sorry!!!!

Nous avons choisi l'hôtel pour ne pas risquer le bruit de la ville qui est très vivante. La chambre était très confortable avec une vue affreuse sur le débarras de l'hôtel...Ça n'a eu aucune importance, tant le lit était bien avec ses tonnes d'oreillers (le bonheur). Nous avons mangé au restaurant où j'ai pris la souris d'agneau cuite à basse température […] - un grand moment de cuisine Irlandaise! Mehr

Hôtel très agréable et confortable. La cuisine du restaurant est bonne et le petit déjeuner (self) copieux.Personnel sympathique à condition de parler et surtout comprendre l'anglais (avec un fort accent irlandais). Un regret toutefois : personne ne parle ni ne comprend le français. Autre reproche, mais qui ne tient pas à l'hôtel mais aux clients présents […] pendant notre séjour :Ils ne respectaient absolument pas le confort des autres clients en parlant très forts dans les couloirs et en claquant les portes à de nombreuses reprises tard le soir et très tôt le matin (des gens du 3ème age pourtant). We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is a pity that you did not meet some of our staff who do speak French. The General Manager spent several years in Brussells and I have worked also in Switzerland and France. Your comments would make us think however about having basic language training available for staff.... Sorry to hear that some of our more elderly guests were getting out of line. I am sorry that this was not managed a bit better - it should not have impacted as it did on your stay. We hope to see you again in the future.
