Clanree Hotel - Letterkenny

Staff were friendly however, the room was dated, old box tv and a power switch in shower was of concern. Breakfast was very nice and good choice available.

The Clanree is an excellent hotel though a few politely-worded notices strategically placed around the hotel asking guests to close their doors quietly(especially in the small hours)might go some way to ensuring a more relaxing stay.Other than this,I had a wonderful break.

We arrived early and the staff were very welcoming and moved us to another room as the one we had been booking into wasnt ready. The reception area is very grand and looks really smart. The room was large and very spacious but would benefit from some modernisation. The bed was not the most comfortable being rather soft. The hotel offers a good base […] to support the wonderful countryside of Donegal. They offer a good leisure club, however it is worth noting that a swimming cap is required for the pool. Breakfast the next morning was very good, the staff again being really helpful and pleasant the chef personnally visited our table to ensure that everything was ok. Over all the hotel is a good budget choice to see Donegal, being easily accessible and very welcoming, if a little dated. Mehr

had a good stay, food was OK apart from one meal, don't order the duck.staff were friendly, courteous,knew their job,room was cleaned every day,hotel was handy for the sights we visited,room rates were excellent. would stay again.

my husband myself and 2 children stayed here at the clanree in febuary very quiet which suited us hotle needs modernised its quite dated but comfortable out of the way abit but when you have the pool and restaurant thats all you want with kids enjoyed by all will be back

The hotel is in need of some modernising, bathrooms are a little bit below par. Some of the soft furnishings/curtains hold the carvery food smell all day in the foyer while the smell of cigarettes long past linger in bedrooms. The staff were very helpful and couteous throughout our stay, the food in the hotel was excellent, the rooms were comfortable. We would recommend the Clanree Hotel for a relaxing break.

The photo's advertised on the website do not paint a very clear picture of the hotel, in my opinion it was very dated and in need of a severe revamp. However the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious! however my main complaint of the facilities is in regards to the shower, i could not get the hot water to work and when i rang down to reception […] i was told to use the leisure facilities by the pool. i was very disappointed as this wasted time on my night out. We found this an excellent choice - so long as you have your own transport. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the public spaces large, and the food excellent - except in these days of enlightenment, there is a marked absence of salads on the menu! It's beautifully appointed and well run, but some of the diningroom staff, whilst efficient and helpful, […] lack all important welcoming smiles and good humour. Lobby and restaurants were fine although menu options limited. Our room on the top floor suffered damp issues and smelt of wallpaper paste when it rained and the window sills were rotten. Hotel is on a busy road with traffic and boy racers most of the night. Looks like they have done up the 1st floor so try and get a room there.

Cant fault the hotel. Our room was cheap and did exactly what it said on the tin. Didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. Hotel is a little dated but very clean and tidy.

Lovely lobby, shared areas & restaurant. Massive rooms with great shower. Its too far out from Letterkenny to walk & its on a main road & also there arent any buses. the hotel is big and basic, some of the staff seem very depressed and not very polite, the bald man in the pool area for one and the cleaning staff were all very rude,its a job so do it right or get a personality. reception was friendly and fast which was good. my tv in the room was 20 years old and broke,when i got someone to look at it it worked for […] 5 minutes and then went crazy for the rest of the night but when i contacted for a second time they promised someone would change tv but no one ever came.its a below par hotel but if you just want a bed to crash out on it will do ,bar staff were nice by the way and its a very nice big cosy bar area Mehr
