Brandnew hotel, next to Ueno station, very friendly service. Nice, very clean rooms with comfortable beds (bigger beds and than in usual japanese business hotels). Even if the hotel is situated in a rushy area, the rooms were very quiet. Breakfast available in the italian restaurant on 1st floor of the same buildung, quite expensive, but nice and rich […] buffet. gerade in September 2010 neu eröffnet. Günstigere Zimmerpreise als in den anderen mitsui Garden Hotels der Innenstadt insbesondere Ginza. Dafür ist Ueno sicherlich nicht so glanzvoll wie die Ginza oder Roppongi dafür sehr Japanisch ! Das Hotel ist komfortabel und direkt gegenüber dem Bahnhof gelegen.

Everything was excellent. Would definitely choose them again. Every staff member made our stay enjoyable. We knew very little Japanese, but their English was very good.

Great Hotel and service except they only gave me one key card. We have a double room and only one key card! I cannot get back up to the room without the key card for the elevator! Or my wife have to leave in the dark without power if I pull the card. Strange policy! so don't leave anyone in the room!!

Great Hotel close to everything! Only 5 mins walk to JR line and Narita line. 1 min to Metro entrance. Ueno is a more tradition location, Sakura viewing and Art and museum just few mins walk. Friendly staffs with free internet (wired and wifi) complementary bottle water is a plus. Lobby is kind of small, well its Tokyo.

As always in Japanese "business hotels," the room was small. There is no place to set a regular suitcase or hang up clothes if staying longer than 1 or 2 nights. However, the location -- 2 minutes walk from Ueno Station -- is very convenient for business in Tokyo. The hotel is nicely decorated and offers nice amenities.

I was solo traveler and this hotel is perfect for brief stay in Tokyo, just beside the Ueno Train station so direct connection to Narita from this train station by Kensei Ltd. Express train--only 1000 yen. And very convenient to Asakusa taking the Ginza Line train--third stop. Stayed at three different hotels on my trip to Tokyo and this was the best. I arrived early and stored my bag for for a few hours. When I checked in they had already put my bag in the room. Three minute walk from Ueno JR station and easy to find. Room just big enough for two, and larger than many in central Tokyo in this price band. Comfortable, clean, modern, free wifi. I can safely recommend this hotel to anyone. It is clean, comfortable and easily accessible to the excellent train/subway system. The staff was pleasant and spoke enough english to make my stay comfortable. The hotel is across the street from the Ueno station with lots of neat shopping in the immediate area. Next to the Ueno train station is the Keisei […] Ueno station where you can catch the Skyliner Express to Narita. The Ueno Park, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, Zoo and Toshogu Shrine are all within easy walking distance form the hotel. Stayed three weeks at the Mitsue Garden Ueno and loved it. The location is superb. I took the Keisei Skyliner train from Narita and the Ueno Station for the line is very close to the hotel. I was able to take an escalator to the overpass and down so I did not need to lug my heavy luggage upstairs and down. The hotel is located within easy walking distance […] to Ueno Park, Asakusa and Akihabara. I also walked to the Ginza but that was a bit far and took the subway back. Additional sights such as the Tsukiiji Fish Markey and the Tokyo Municipal Buildings were within a short subway or JR line away. The room was comfortable. I was afraid that the room would be miserable but I had smaller in Hong Kong. I was able to work out a bit by laying out a yoga mat. The room was stocked with two water bottles daily and had coffee and tea. Room also had a small refrigerator. Room was also cleaned daily and in great condition. I was on the 14th (top) floor. I did not eat the breakfast at the hotel. There are many convenience stores very close by and just stocked up on fruit and yogurt. The staff was friendly and there was a newspaper available every day. The room was quiet and the shade for the window provided a complete blackout of the light from outside. I enoyed my stay there and highly recommend the hotel. Mehr

Excellent location for short stays near JR & metro stations. The hotel condition is very good - nice, fresh (although smallish) rooms with good ambiance, free wifi. food tip: a very reasonable restaurants district starts right across the road to the north-west, many restaurants overlooking the area.

Great location and super easy access from and to Narita Airport, we stayed here for one night just before flying out of Tokyo and it was so easy and quick to get to the Airport. Seems to be a relatively new hotel, all very modern. Had a superior room with large double bed (about queen size) for a much lower price than hotels in central Tokyo. Only downside was that one side of the bed was up against the wall, but bed could be moved to make it easier to get in and out. Room somewhat cramped by North American standards but well […] designed and well equipped. Had a small refrigerator, so could store milk and granola for breakfast. Like many Japanese hotels, no WiFi in room. Ethernet cable provided. We brought a router to connect an IPOD Touch and it worked out OK. Walking distance to Ueno Park, large urban park with many museums and zoo. We booked here specifically for the Tokyo National Museum, most interesting, information panels translated into good English. Entrance to subway a few steps from the hotel. Coffee shop right next door. Some small, inexpensive restaurants in the neighborhood and a grocery store in the JR Ueno station. Enjoyed our stay. Mehr

This is a new hotel, with small rooms and careful attention to detail. Within walking distance are the zoo, the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, and others. The hotel is 50 feet from the Ueno station exit number 1, convenient in the rain. The window opens to let air in, and deadens the sound with an outer double pane window […] and an inner single pane window. There are effective room-darkening blinds, light-tight around the edges. I was told the air conditioner will cool the room, but I can't figure out how to get it to do that; perhaps it will. Two people each bringing a suitcase might have trouble getting organized in such a small room, and there is only one chair. Under the window is a convenient desk that offers a workspace with a good view of the outside world. Bring a 3-prong adapter for your computer power plug if coming from the US. Internet download speed is 230 kByte/sec. Checking out is done efficiently at an electronic kiosk in the small lobby. The breakfast buffet in the Italian restaurant is good, with both American and Japanese fare. Mehr

Staff very helpful. Location only 5 mins from Airport Train station, and with a Tokyo subway entrance 2 doors down. Room clean and comfortable, very chic. Only down side is that restaurant and those in the area close by 10.30 - 11.00pm, so if you arrive late, get into the restaurant quickly..

Very convenient,very close to Museums, Skyliner, Ueno Station Jr and Ginza and Hibiya Lines etc. Medium sized rooms for Japan, well thought out layout of room, wifi and computers for rent, Bath and shower. All new tasteful and well kept. Very High on list of choices for hotels in price range.

The Mitsui Garden hotel in Ueno is a new and therefore spotless hotel conveniently situated right near Ueno station. The only problem I encountered was when i tried to use the laundry facility and found absolutely no english instruction on how to use anything. A person from the front desk attempted to help but judging from the results I would guess […] he had never had anything at all to do with a washing machine even though he could read Japanese! What a convenient hotel! The location is the best - right at Ueno station. The rooms had a refrigerator, hot pot with green tea, in-room safe, nice bathroom, pants press machine, and good views overlooking the Ueno area. The size of the room is adequate, but not large. Pros: -Spacious room and even more spacious bathroom, by japanese standards. - coin laundry on the second floor. Put 500 yen in the machine on the left and it will wash and dry your small load of laundry in two hours. -Great location. We visited during a typhoon and we hardly got wet between the station and the subway entrance. Ueno is a good location […] for a home base in Tokyo. - vending machines and ice on every guest room floor, and water heater inside the room (and green tea packets) -very friendly and helpful staff. -Eco-friendly hotel. Recycling in rooms, low flow sink, efficient lighting, nature-inspired decor. Cons: -Hotel guest room's power is turned off after you remove the key card from the key holder inside the room. (husband was stuck in the room sick while I went around Tokyo -- didn't realize I had left him in the dark!) -The bidet's power and aim were not great.
