Dusche war Defekt und das Bad stand nach jeder Dusche unter Wasser hatten das Zimmer 101 mit hinterhofblick aber es war sehr mindestens ruhig zum Glück war im Erdgeschoss ein spar Geschäft da hab ich mir dann Sachen fürs frühstück gekauft brot Schinken usw den das frühstück war zwar im Preis inklusive aber leider ungenießbar die Wurst ...... Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe der Stadt, ca. 7-8 Minuten zu Fuß. Stationen für den Bus, Tram und S-Bahn sind gleich am Hotel. Die Zimmer sind groß, es fehlen leider Schränke bzw. Ablageflächen. Frühstück ist okay für englische Verhältnisse. Für einen kruzen Trip nach Manchester ist das Hotel völlig ausreichend.

Hotel gute Lage: Nahe Trainstation Oxford Street; Innenstadt schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen; Zimmer sauber, aber Betten (Twin-Room) sehr weich und instabil (wackelig); dafür sehr schönes Bad mit großer Dusche Frühstück in Ordnung (English)

Wir bekamen vor 14 Uhr kein Zimmer nachdem man gelesen hatte das wir über Hotels.com gebucht haben. Andere bekamen eins. Am 2. Tag fehlten die Handtücher, wir reklamierten, hatten aber 3 Stunden später noch keins. Dasselbe dann noch mal am 3. Tag. Das Zimmer war ein Eckzimmer, 1 Fenster zur Straße und eins zum gut besuchten Pup neben an, die beide nich […] zu öffnen waren, und die Tür war neben dem Treppenhaus. Eigentlich wundert es mich, dass dieses Hotel nur zwei Sterne hat. Es ist insgesamt sehr modern und die Zimmer sind vollkommen neu eingerichtet, haben sogar einen Plasmafernseher. Obwohl sich um das Hotel herum sehr viele Bars und Kneipen befinden, war es in der Nacht sehr ruhig. Beim Frühstück gab es zwar keine übertrieben große Auswahl, doch genügend, […] um satt zu werden. An der Sauberkeit in den Zimmern gab es nichts auszusetzen. Auf jeden Fall vermittelte das Hotel Sicherheit, da es nicht möglich ist, nachts ohne eine Schlüsselkarte das Hotel zu betreten. Auch die Benutzung des Fahrstuhls erforderte die Karte, sodass nicht jeder beliebige Zugang zu den Hotelkorridoren hat. Das Hotel liegt recht zentral, sodass die Innenstadt mit Sehenwürdigkeiten und Ausgehmöglichkeiten nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt ist. Das Hotel liegt direkt neben der Manchester Oxford Road Station, die eine Direktverbindung mit dem Manchester Airport (ca. 25 min) hat. Mehr

Zimmer hatte keinen Kasten, und zu wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten für Gewand, war wohl ein Businesszimmer für nur eine Nacht. Waschtisch im Badezimmer war zu klein und zu tief angebracht (Behinderteneinrichtung?)

All in all a very nice hotel , although my checkout experience let my expectations down. The receptionist wasnt very friendly on checkout , however my check in experience was excellent so can't complain there.

The room was very nicely presented and clean. However, I have never experienced such bad allergy's.. something in my room was causing my eyes to water, my nose to run (I do suffer from hayfever but am taking anti-histamines). After my first sleepless night, I reported this to the reception and asked if there was some sort of air freshener appliance […] in my room (as I heard a loud puffing noise every half an hour - which also woke me up). Two receptionists told me it was probably the air con, and to my knowledge did not investigate further. I turned the aircon off for the second night of my stay and still the puffing noise every half an hour woke me up and I found it difficult to breathe because of the allergic reaction. The window would not open for me to let fresh air in. Although the hotel was asthetically pleasing I will remember to ask in future when I stay in a hotel whether the windows can be opened for ventillation! Mehr

Good location, minutes to all Uni, and quite close to Chinatown and city centre. Nice fares on Mon and Tue including breakfast which was ok. Strongly recommend.

A very satisfying stay at the hotel, very impressed with the breakfast that was put on. My only gripe is that the showers could be hotter! I like a really hot shower. However I would stay again and recommend it!

Service was bad, no iron, had to call reception and they told me all of our irons are busy and cant bring me one! Was very suprised as i told them im not getting a holiday inn service, he replied by saying we are not holiday inn, we are holidy inn express!!!!, Sheets was not changed! Tissue was not relaced! Very bad Waste of money

really friendly staff, clean and tidy and in a great location too

Hotel feels brand new and offers superbfriendly service. Extra towels requested were sent to room in minutes and staff at breakfast were extreemly friendly

Got stuck in lift for 1 hour rescued by fire service

Hotel was generally ideal location for our purpose. Room was nice and clean(room no 903 ). The only down side was that the bathroom was a disabled type which was no problem until my wife and myself took a shower in the morning and nearly flooded the room out as the floor tiles had not been laid correctly with the fall not directed to the waste pipe […] and the water went everywhere in the room and we had to lay all the towels out to soak up the water Mehr

The hotel location was very conveniet for me, close to the train station and to the venue where I ahd to go. The staff were polite and friendly and the room and the bathroom were clean. The drawbacks: - the hairdrier fixed to the room wall was not working (though I did get a replacement at the reception). - The bed was not as comfortable as the ones […] you get in the Premier Inn chain. We spent 2 nights during half term for a family city break. The room was very clean and the sofa bed for the children (7 and 9) was already made up when we arrived. The shower was new, large and top quality. Location was very central and although not the best area, everything in the city was accessible.

Couldn't really ask for a better place to stay at in Manchester on a Budget. The Breakfast was good and the room was clean and cozy. Extremely convenient to Manchester City Centre (walking distance) and convenient to shops and transport.

good central hotel,only downfall is that you cant open windows,so the air gets very stuffy if you are in room for any length of time.

In the middle of the city, close to the university. Nice rooms, good breakfast, nice service. Good value for money. We only stayed one night but will come back another time.

Clean and good location! Tried lots of hotels in Manchester for work but this is the best for cleanliness and location.

my wife and two kids and i recently stayed in this hotel as we were going to a manchester united game . we found the hotel to be spotless clean and the the location to be literally a 5 minute walk to piccadily gardens so the location was excellent with a bus stop right across the street . on our first night stay we were given a room in the front of […] the hotel on the first floor which was extremely noisy with people and traffic from the street . but on the second night i asked to be moved by a member of reception by whom i was dealt with extremely well . on the other hand when the manager on duty was called to authorise our room change iwe found him to be extremely obnoxious , unhelpfull and down right rude . but the other staff were more than nice and pleasant. pity about that fellow though . To be honest we were not expecting much from the Hol Inn Express on Manchester's Oxford Road as it is so very reasonable.Stayed for one night shopping trip and restaurant visit so just a crash pad required. Very new hotel and kept clean and tidy.A concierge on the front door and the need for key to operate the lift does make one feel more secure.The […] room was big enough for the bed and a sofa bed although when the sofa was made up for sleep it filled the room!Large ,clean and bright shower room with huge shower and option for subdued blue lighting! Tea/coffee facilities but only for two people, strange as there were three of us on the booking.There was a choice of pillow firmness too but again only pillows for two people.Choice was supposed to be soft or firm but we both found the soft ones to be far too soft and the firm also too soft.We did ask for some pillows for the sofabed but were told that there are no spare pillows in the hotel! So presumably the pillow choice is just for show!Beds were pretty comfortable though. I can't believe we got breakfast thrown in too! It was a buffet affair in the basement bar/food area.Coffee was from a basic machine and not great but there was toast , sausage and some scrambled eggs and beans or croissants , cereals and juices. Overall very good value for Manchester city centre and within 10 minutes walk of the main shopping areas.This would be ideal for the MEN arena (5 mins walk) or a quick break night or two.BARGAIN!! Amazing hotel, i'm sorry we had to be there for only one night. the breakfast was delicious, the treatment - everything was perfect!

Really enjoyed our stay,staff were helpful and friendly, hotel location was convenient,room was clean and comfortable.Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one pleasant .

Great location for shopping, resturants and a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. A basic breakfast was included in price which made this the first choice for my stay.

This hotel looked brand new, however I think they forgot to take into consideration that it gets cold in the UK. My room was freezing -I had to ask for an extra duvet. The bathroom was tiled, which looked nice but felt ice cold, the air conditioner unit/ heater just wasnt effective. I wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel is very clean, twin room wasn't huge but fine for an overnight stay, and bathroom and shower were spacious. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold options, nothing gourmet but perfectly adequate. It's a 10 minute walk to the city centre, or 5 minutes in a cab.

Nice hotel, far better than others I have stayed at in the city centre. Rooms clean and well furnished, staff friendly, service good. Breakfast could be improved but overall I would stay in this hotel again in the future.

Very comfortable and convenient hotel.Visible from Manchester Oxford road train station and a 2 minute walk.We stayed here to attend an event at the Royal Northern College of Music, a 10 minute walk away. Staff all very courteous and friendly.Rooms were spotless and well maintained with a spacious well functioning shower.Elevators were security protected […] by room keycards.Only slight let down was the restricted complimentary breakfast range in comparison with other budget hotels.The only cooked foods were sausage ,scrambled egg and baked beans ( no bacon tomato etc) Also very restricted fruit range - only fresh apples or oranges ( no bananas) and 1 tinned fruit ( mandarins one day, grapefruit on the other). My daughter was also disappointed that there was no nutella for her toast. Mehr

Good value and very conveniently located for theatres and Arndale Shopping Centre. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff.

just 50 yards from oxford road railway station,hotel was clean,friendly staff,clean rooms with great showers .only downside was breakfast which was a bit ropey with not much choice. but would definitely stay here again

HI Express is a stone's throw away from Oxford Road Station and about 10-15 mins to the main shopping area and Deansgate. Staff were generally friendly, rooms looked as if they'd just been re-furbed and were spotless. A great place to stay if you're going for a night out in Manchester or seeing bands at the University.
