Walton Hotel - Warwickshire (Grafschaft)

We were attending a wedding but decided to make it into a short break. Very pleased with all elements of stay.

Overall my stay was fine apart from finding the pool area appalling, it was very rowdy, children being very noisy and thrashing about in the pool whilst the parents let them do what they wanted, I felt like I was in a public swimming bathes, if I had gone there for a spa break..would not have been happy! People in there with shoes on too and the sauna […] was a joke! Mehr

Really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back shame about the weather as what a great place to have a walk. The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Location grab place to get away. the hotel has the balance with modern and old.

A lovely hotel just 7 miles out of Stratford upon Avon. Set in its own grounds the hotel is surrounded by quiet countryside, yet within 10 minutes you can be in the centre of Startford. We enjoyed our stay greatly.

Excellent. Ignore other comments about small rooms; unfriendly staff etc. Really good value. Room was good and breakfast choices should suit all needs. Grounds of hotel were very scenic. Did not eat there but pub in Wellesbourne was good value for food and beer. 15 mins drive into Stratford.

Great Hotel, wonderful location, Staff are very polite although not very knowledgeable on the happenings in the area. But I love this hotel, this is my third visit.

Beautiful surroundings - very relaxing, fabulous breakfast, a little disappointed with evening meal, husband had to send his main course back, but it was replaced quickly, service excellent

Nice hotel in lovely grounds, highly recommended!

not bad looking when booked but on arrival was given mixed informatoin about restaurant and breakfast times. Staff sometimes abrupt and disinterested. Over priced meals - went down the road to the pub. The centre of stratford is only about 10-15 mins away so good for location. beautiful surroundings with lovely walks. I enjoy staying at this hotel and regularly use it. its nice and clean. the gym is good if not a little small. the only down side is the food is expensive for the quality. Will stay here again.

Ideally located for both Stratford and Warwick A first class hotel in its own beautiful grounds A wee bit isolated though, you will need a good satnav Very quiet and restful with an excel lent spa

Amazing hotel gorgeous room and pool!!! However, £32.50 per person in restaurant without drinks!!!!!!! Snobby staff! After walkin out of restaurant into bar as cheaper food, a burger was £20!!!!! Lady behind bar then laughed at us!!! Would not return!!!! The pub down the road where we finally ate were amazing!!!!

booked in to hotel, ok,given our room clean and tidy but with a few marks here and there,balcony door broken at the bottom. First night the heating didn't work next morning had to move to another room. We were told to pack our cases and they would be moved to our new room by housekeeping.Went out for the day came back and our cases were not in the room […] had to wait 30-45 mins until someone brought our case.After that everthing was plain sailing.Grounds of the Hotel very good Mehr

Lovely hotel in great setting with staff that are excellant, not quite the mark for business users. No reception on phone and couldn't connect to publicwifi and £15 per day for chargable little too pricey, and bar meals far from value for money

avoid room with ajoining door(not sound proof)had to be moved but no problem otherwise,am led to believe it can get a bit noisey of a weekend with weddings,but we would return again anytime

Stayed here as local to wedding we were attending. slight problem finding it sat nav didn't register location. worth finding though very picturesque and quiet, adjacent to Walton Hall which is beautiful. Breakfast was lovely (liked the 11am finish) and staff very efficient.

Just returned from a 3 night break at this hotel. The hotel was set in beautiful surroundings within a short drive of both Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick. We found the rooms to be extremely comfortable,modern and of a good size. The hotel grounds were extensive and very impressive. The much older Walton Hall Hotel is located in the same grounds as […] the Walton Hotel. We found the hotel staff to be efficient, helpful and welcoming. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and found the food to be plentiful and varied and of a good standard. We also made use of the pool, sauna and steam room which was very relaxing. If we returned to this area, we would not hesitate to book this hotel again. Mehr

When we arrived we were amazer by the surrounding countryside it was beautiful.Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the Spanish receptionist and Tim behind the bar.Leisure facilities in another building encouraged walking which was delightful in the grounds.Will definitely stay here again and recommend this fab hotel to anyone.

Hotel is fine, but it's a conference centre posing as a stately residence. There is an old building on site, but the greater part of the hotel by far is a sprawling, dorm-like facility, more like a Premier Inn than a luxury hotel. One thing that drives me crazy is not having a decent place to hang clothes when I'm travelling and trying to look good […] for a meeting. The hanger rail was over the tea tray area and not sufficient to hang anything longer than a jacket. The pool is way to small to swim laps, despite the Health Club billing, with the shallow end SO shallow you can hit your knees while swimming. All that said, the grounds are really lovely, there's an old church on site which is quite charming, breakfast was good and the staff are nice. Mehr

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on 18 April 2011. The setting of the hotel is magnificient and the grounds and hall are very impressive. We used the swimming pool and leisure club which was fairly small but clean and adequate. The hotel bedroom was fine but the aircon in the room made a noise (even when turned off) which spoilt a good night's sleep. The […] hotel was excellent but was let down by the food. The Table D'Hote menu in the dining room was £32.50 per person which we thought was a bit expensive so we opted to eat in the bar area which was slightly cheaper. We both ordered rump steaks and were very disappointed with the quality of the meat. We got two thin pieces of meat which had been cremated and was as tough as old boot leather. We could hardly cut it with the knife provided so we asked for two steak knives only to be told "we don't have any"! (How can you serve steak on a menu and not have steak knives?!). We also asked for french mustard and was told "we only have english mustard". The service was also poor, By contrast, the breakfast next morning was excellent. There was a wide variety of hot and cold food and the quality and service was very good. The experience of the evening meal spoilt what was otherwise an enjoyable stay in a good hotel. I would stay again but would chose something different to eat! Mehr

Hotel was very nice. THe staff were friendly. The only issue were the small pillows on the bed and it was also very hard.

The hotel has the potential to be excellent but was let down by daft little things that should be par for the course of a 4 star hotel. Heating hadn't been turned on in the rooms prior to our arrival. Our bar mea was served quite slowly and no cutlery was provided. The showe didn't work in one of our rooms. Not that the age of the staff was a problem […] but they all seemed very young and without drive and direction. It was almost like someone had given their children a Fisher Price hotel to play with and we were the guests. The best member of staff (who seemed to have some life and character was Olga, who served us breakfast. Mehr

Generally very good, but one problem and that was breakfast! Frozen sliced bread provided for toasting in a very poor machine resulting in soggy toast-yummy! A few other items on the buffet table were rather tired looking. The busier the hotel the better, fresher, the breakfast.

We chose to stay here because it was situated in lovely grounds with good facilities. Our room was in the perfect position on the ground floor level with reception close to the car park and the breakfast area. Our room was clean and spacious with views from the french doors looking at fields with sheep and wildlife. We did not eat in as we prefered […] to go to Stratford. The breakfast was good but would have liked to have a vegetarian option ie sausages and also noticed that the fried eggs were a bit overdone. Would go back again. Mehr

Great hotel. Only critisim was that room was too hot. 26 degrees on arrival and with air conditioning on fully for 24 hours, did not get below 23 degrees. Made sleeping difficult. Second sitting for dinner had items missing from menu. Otherwise a very happy stay.
