The regular & complimentary shuttle compensates for the fact that subway is not available in the area (yet). Good clean room, affordable room booked for four persons. Room has two twin beds, but got only 2 sets of towels. Poor Wifi with slow internet. No computer in room, which every cheap hotel in China has! Expensive extras, like PC tower in Hotel lobby for 40 HKD/15minutes. Expensive restaurant services. Though Starbucks and 7-Eleven are only just a five […] minutes walk away, downhill behind the gas station, in the "One Island South" tower, which is just starting up. Next ATM is 3 minutes walking uphill. Air outlets from venting the hotels car entrance area are directly in the pool area, so you have diesel smells while lying at the pool. Hotel shuttle bus rides to Hong Kong central once an hour only. Bus 75 can take you to central every 15 minutes, too. The hotel is located in an unfriendly industrial neighbourhood. Subway station nearby is in construction, looks like it takes two years or so. OK - you get what you pay for - this is the cheapest way to have a room for a family with two parents and two children in Hong Kong. Mehr

Es ist ein Sehr gutes und schönes Hotel. Hat 5 Sterne Charakter.. ist leider etwas vom Zentrum Entfernt. haben aber regelmäßig kostenlosen Shuttle Service. Zu Messe mit Taxi kostet es ca. 60HKD. Unterm Strich sehr Empfehlenswert.

Das Hotel und das Zimmer ist sehr schön ausgestattet, sehr sauber, Service ist fast perfekt, Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (mehrere Buslinien) ist sehr gut. Frühstück, Restaurant, Bad, Sauna haben wir nicht ausprobiert. Allerdings ist das Hotel sehr "hellhörig"; Geräusche aus dem nebenliegenden Bad und vom Gang sind sehr gut zu hören.

Das Hotel war von Komfort, Service und Sauberkeit das beste Hotel unserer 3-wöchigen Reise in China. Es ist unmittelbar in Nähe des Ocean Parks (10 min zu Fuß!), allerdings ist dies leider sehr abseits von Hong Kongs Zentrum und sogar vom U-Bahn-Netz. Eine Taxifahrt nach Central kostete ca. 60 HKD, doch das Hotel bietet auch einen kostenlosen Shuttleservice […] primär nach Causeway Bay, von wo aus man billiger ins Zentrum kommt. Wer gern den Ocean Park, Aberdeen oder Stanley besuchen oder etwa am Strand Urlaub machen möchte, dem ist dieses Hotel zu empfehlen. Für Hong Kong selbst sollte man sich jedoch ein teureres und weniger luxuriöses im Norden der Insel oder gleich auf dem Festland suchen. Mehr

Sehr nettes Personal, das Hotelzimmer war geräumig, sauber und besaß eine gute Ausstattung. Hatte das Zimmer ohne Frühstück. Das Frühstück (bei mir nicht im Preis inbegriffen) bestand aus einem Buffet -sehr gut! Würde auf jeden Fall wieder buchen - nur inkl. Frühstück!

Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis in diesem Hotel ist sehr gut. Küche ist Spitze! Zimmer gross und freundlich, ohne Kitsch. Personal sehr zuvorkommend und der Shuttel-Bus in's Zentrum sehr gut. Wir können dieses Hotel jederzeit mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen und würden es auch selbst gerne wieder buchen. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Really beautiful hotel located on the South Island of Hong Kong. Unfortunately, there are no stores or restaurant close by the hotel, but a taxi can get you to Aberdeen Center for about 5 US$ where you can find tons of groceries stores. There’s a bus stop just outside of the hotel where you can hop on the buses to the city (Mong Kok, Kowloon etc). […] Hotel staff is very helpful with regards to which buses you should take. Listen to their advice; it’s really tough to find your way without any guidance. We really liked our room which was not only spacious but featured a modern interior design as well as a nice bathroom. Good nice big room for HK. Close to Ocean Park 15 min walk. Bus stop in front to go to Causeway Bay. Hotel shuttle hourly but only a 28 seater bus and get filled up quickly. Free upgrade and free apple is very nice touch. Not many eateries around hotel. So eat before going back or have food inside hotel restuarant.

Location sucks being south in Aberdeen. Only thing going is an easy walk to Ocean Park. Great shuttle service to HK station though. Breakfast buffet was a little lean in selection. This is a quality hotel at an inexpensive price! Would stay again.

We travelled to Hong Kong with our four children and had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Whilst it was a little out of the way, it was within walking distance of Ocean Park, which delighted our four children! And the bus service provided by the hotel was excellent - just make sure that […] you are down early for the bus, as it does fill up quickly! Only downside that we noticed when we were leaving was that there was nowhere to sit and wait for our taxi. We had checked out earlier in the day, came back to collect our luggage and there literally was nowhere to wait - unless we wanted to go to the restaurant and eat. Seems that once you've checked out, you've checked out. That said, I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay when visiting Hong Kong. Mehr

I was on a trip which required me to be at the jockey club early in the morning. This hotel was perfect for that purpose - only takes a leisurely 5-10 minutes walk to reach the jockey club. However, apart from this, there's probably no other reason to choose a hotel in this location. There's absolutely nothing decent nearby to eat / shop / see, unless […] you fancy being near Ocean Park (hotel provides complimentary shuttle bus). There's an esso and 7-eleven across Wong Chuk Hand road.. but that's probably as much civilisation as you're gonna get without vehicular transport. To its credit, the hotel itself is well maintained and the rooms are relatively spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. Definitely clean. Sound insulation not the best.. so you can hear noisy chatter from the corridor once in a while, and you know when your neighbour is running the tap. Hotel gym is decent sized with fair range of machines. You can forget about the pool or poolside lounging.. it's there just so that they can claim to have a "swimming pool".. I estimate the length to be 10 metres only. Pricing is competitive to make up for their lousy location (do take into account taxi fares to get yourself to civilisation though). Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to/fro airport express terminal at Hong Kong station, so you can purchase a 2-way train ticket when you arrive at HKIA. Hotel staff are extremely polite and i was very happy with the service provided. Mehr

good for budget travellers wanting to experience a semi luxurious hotel in Hong Kong. Loud AC in the rooms, quite a lot of mainland chinese guests, otherwise great for the price. When the MTR is up and running to Aberdeen it will surely be easier to get to the other parts of town quickly.

Hotel very nice and beautiful.Comfy beds. As everyone said it is out of central area but not very far. Many warehouses around. There is nothing close by. Shuttle service is very helpful to get central station and always on time. If you don't mind the location it is good hotel to stay.

Hotel room looks new and modern and also very clean. It has a good gym. Service at reception, bell-hop, guest services and gym was excellent. The guest services manager is exceptionally pleasant and service-oriented. There is a convenient regular shuttle to Hong Kong MTR station. Overall, pleasant stay for the family.

Excellent value for money in Hong Kong where hotels are usually much more expensive. The shuttle bus to Central runs frequently and is very convenient. Stay for 5 nights. As the duration includes New Years Day, the room tariff is reasonably affordable as compare to most hotels during that period, which had me choose this hotel. No regrets. Location is not of the best but they do have shuttle service taking you to & fro of MTR Hong Kong station. Hi, if you have a cold season then WHY not to make HEATING MODE available in the aircond in the room? It has COOLING, VENTILATION but no HEATING. This is -35C in a place I live now but I managed to get cold just a week ago having +15C outside and +18C in room in your hotel in HK just a week ago! Your location is sweet relatively to awesome shuttle […] bus service and very clean environment but this is industrial area still, so why not to host a couple of ATM's and convenient store like 7-eleven in your building? MTN is going to open their stations around in two years only, so you have to fill up your rooms somehow, yeah? And yeah I know that life and everything is expensive in HK, so hotels are... and I also know this is normal to vary the price for rooms relatively to the market demand, i.e. it might be higher for the high season. Kind of norm but, I am disagreed this is ok to have same room for the 2.5 price difference within one week time frame and for the single customer just because it is covering the New Year date. I don't really care how common is that but this is an example of very bad marketing. Not essential but sort of normal to expect some freebies while living in hotel during the holidays. Not a word from the hotel staff, no TV in the world-most common languages. If someone would ask me to rate staff separately, there should be cleaners nominated for bonus, all receptionists putted to training but tall guy from P4 should be hotel manager, that is for sure. This is a wonderful hotel nestled deep in the heart of nothing. Literally, there is nothing to do and nowhere to eat in the immediate vicinity. The hotel runs a shuttle that we tried to get on three different occasions but with no luck due to crowd size. This means you are a cab ride in and a cab ride back from any real food or entertainment. Not the […] end of the world, but it does require careful planning and extra flexibility. Great overall! The hotel shuttle is very conveinant with stops and pickups at airport express train service and attractions. The buffet is very good. We are from Kansas and if my wife liked the food and cleanliness its all good. Public transportation is very easy to use from the hotel. We caught the # 75 bus and sat back and enjoyed the ride to central […] bus station where you can walk to the Star Ferry to go over to the Kowloon side. I travelled to Hong Kong for a week with my wife and 2 kids. We took a chance with L'hotel island south which looked like great value for the quality of the hotel. While it is located on the south side of the island, it is actually very convenient as the hotel runs a regular shuttle to the centre. It was absolutely fantastic. So if you are worried about […] location you don't need to. Yes you won't be in the centre but actually after spending a whole day in the middle of crowds and lights and cars, coming back to the quiet side of the island was quite good. We also took the shuttle back from pre-specific pick up points at the central stations which was quite easy. The hotel itself is quite new (2 years old only) and hence has all the things you would get in a new hotel. The rooms are big, quite beautifully appointed and generally comfortable. The room was taken care of everyday. Ask for a high floor if you can - the views must be a lot better. There was no breakfast included and we just used to get something outside. The restaurant on site was not just ok and by hong kong standards felt a bit expensive. We ate outside the hotel every day. The hotel is also great to get to Ocean Park (you can walk or take the hotel's shuttle) and for places like Stanley. The pool was ok - water was somewhat cold. All in all, I would say that if you not too stuck up about your location, and are looking for good value for money for only a slight compromise on location, this is a brilliant hotel. Mehr

I had a very enjoyable stay. The location is not near the hustle and bustle of the town center areas. But the shuttle bus service is great! It runs quite frequently and made it very convenient while helping me save money on bus fares. Whenever I phoned the service line it was answered promptly. The hotel was well maintained and my room was clean. Pity I didn't get a chance to use all the facilities the hotel offered! The hotel represented very good value for the tariff I paid. All members of staff were impeccably turned out and showed a consistantly good attitude. Some people might be concerned about the hotel's somewhat unusual location, but the current (reliable) free shuttle service to Central and the ease of using public transport or taxis renders this a virtual […] non-issue. Decor is of the boutique variety and is quite well conceived. The dinner buffet is priced correctly and of a good standard in terms of quality and selection. I had to wait briefly before taking the shuttle upon my departure and was made to feel very welcome in the lobby/bar area with continued access to WiFi. The Front Desk Supervisor even brought me a complimentary bottle of Evian water, a highly civilized gesture that fully won me over. L'Hotel Island South is a great hotel, with excellent staff, and in very good condition. The only downside is that it is out of the way. Way out of the way to the central/HongKong area. No MTR trains (yet), so it's bus or taxi. Taxi costs around HK$80. They do run a periodic shuttle bus from the airport express train area as well, which can be convenient […] if times fit. It's a 5 star hotel at 3.5 star price. Location was a concern but there are many buses going into the Wan Chai that you don't need to be worry. Rooms are quiet and large and staff is friendly. Great in room wifi. Will stay again if they don't increase the price.
