We traveled the entire coast Boston to Bar Harbor ME and our stay at Holiday Guest House was better than most of our pricier places we stayed. Property was quaintly decorated, conveniently located, what it lacked in roadside charm being directly on Rt 1 the service of the Inn Keepers more than made up for it! A small jewel amidst a sea of beach motels. Michael and Bill keep a lovely B&B in a true colonial house where Eleanor Roosevelt once stayed. Her room has been tenderly "remembered". Our fabulous hosts, Michael and Bill did everything to make our stay memorable. From the chocolate chip cookies when we arrived, wonderful breakfasts, lovely gardens and suggestions for restaurants and places to see. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home by our hosts, Michael and Bill. The Guest House, built in 1814, is tastefully decorated with artwork and curios appropriate for an elegant 19th century home. Located within easy reach of the beaches of Wells, Ogunquit, and York, it sits back from the busy Post Road, and thus is quiet […] and relaxing. I had been looking at spots for our honeymoon & spotted the ratings for Holiday Guest House, so I read thru the reviews and it sounded like just the place I was looking for and booked it- we absolutely were not disappointed in any way!- Michael & Bill were the most wonderful hosts and the fresh breakfasts they prepared every morning were wonderful!!... […] the accommodations were very comfortable and inviting, the Inn was central to everything we wanted to do, the trolley was right outside so you didn't have to fight with the traffic or find a parking spot in Ogunquit- such a good time and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone, and we'll stay there again ourselves!!! Owners Michael and Bill made us feel very welcome and at home from the moment of our arrival. We loved the colonial atmosphere and the period furnishings were great. Our bed was extremely comfortable with two pillow options provided and everything seemed immaculately clean. Breakfast on the sun porch of blueberry pancakes, sausages, and fresh fruit […] was beautifully presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the water fountain while we ate and watching the birds come to the feeders right outside where they were placed amidst a lovely flower garden. Access to Ogunquit, restaurants, shopping and the beach were excellent and Michael and Bill were generous in their recommendations. Normally when my wife and I go to Maine we stay in a hotel on the beach. We chose a bed & breakfast for the first time and we were totally delighted. Bill and Mike are excellent hosts. They make a yummy breakfast. The room was comfortable although the pillows were very firm. I would prefer a crisp covered duvet to the ornate bedspread provided. The bath was very spacious and immaculate.

We had a wonderful time at the Holiday guest house. The room is beautiful, the breakfast scrumptious and the host Bill and Michael were extremely gracious and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone going to the ME for a day, a week, or a month. Truly in all my travels this is one place that I can't find a single negative about it.

The owners were welcoming from the moment we arrived. They were great in helping with directions and sights/shopping in the area. The room was clean and had lovely decor. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was fantasic with lots of great choices. Must try the cinnamon cake. And afternoon cookies were a bonus. Wonderful stay.

We had the most wonderful weekend in Ogunquit, and part of our delight had to do with the gracious innkeepers of this great bed and breakfast. With only four rooms, guests get personal attention. Rooms are very comfortable, and owners very knowledgeable of area and friendly. Quiet pool area, beautifully maintained gardens. Wonderfully relaxing, while local beaches and restaurants easily accessible by trolley system during season. Great place to stay, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The place was very well maintained and clean. The inclusive breakfast was delectable and they even served wine, cheese and crakers in the evening. Nice private pool. The place is located just outside of Ogunquit which is nice if you prefer less hustle and bustle. There was a trolly […] that stopped near the place often, so we were able to catch the few minute ride to town. There also was plenty of stores or restaurants nearby too. One disappointing thing was that it is an older house so they use window airconditioners, which is fine, but they weren't in the windows yet! It was early in the season and they just hadn't put them in yet. My main criterion when looking for a place to stay was A/C. The website listed A/C. We didn't ask to have them put in and one night was kinda sticky. I would absolutely stay there again, I would just call ahead to make sure the airconditioners are in. Mehr
