Springhill Suites by Marriott Alexandria - Alexandria

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and had recently been rehabed. My kids also enjoyed the swimming pool very much, and we liked that it was open until 10:00pm during the week. The only downside is the hotel is about 45 minutes outside of the city due to traffic.

We previously stayed at Springhill Suite Eisenhower Ave but it was booked. They both have the new sleek modern style but this one we had a room with a tub instead of a walk-in shower. Since we are seniors, the tub had the grab bar on the wrong side of the tub (nearest the toilet) and it was difficult getting in/out. We loved the toilet seat that automatically […] closed! The new design is planned out very well but if you like showers, ask for a room with a walk-in shower. The hotel was booked and the one person working the breakfast area had a difficult time keeping everything refilled for so many people. Otherwise, it is convenient, clean and modern! Mehr

Very economical, very clean with good parking. 15 min to Mt. Vernon, 10 to Ft Belvoir and 25 min to the National Mall. Good amenities. Will stay there the next time in DC area.

Booked this hotel for our vacation in DC because they had free parking, shuttle to the metro (which is 5 minutes away), and breakfast every day. Hotel shuttle to metro and price makes this hotel a good choice. Front desk staff were curteous and helpful. However, even on the top (4th) floor, it is very loud, poorly insulated wals. Can hear your neighbors water running as soon as they turn it on, and could hear the "new neighblors" loud and clear through the wall. Pool only open 5-10pm, and loaded […] with kids. This is a very good clean hotel in the D.C. area. The provided shuttle enabled us to get to the Huntington Metro Station. The price was excellent and included breakfast.

We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and it worked really well for us (family of 4). The room was divided in to a living room, work desk area with a slidable divider and the two queen beds. The room was clean and everything appeared fairly new. There were several small tables around the room rather than one large coffee table which meant we could […] customize the layout for our needs and for once everyone had a table for there glasses and book at night. The radio had an iPhone/iPod dock which was a nice surprise. Both wired and wireless internet were available as well. The breakfast at the hotel was only good, not great. Boiled eggs and better pastry would have been a nice upgrade. Given that most hotels in the area charge for breakfast and parking, I do not feel like I should complain much. Although this was mostly a leisure trip, I did have to do some work and found it easy to get stuff done in the room. This will definitely be one of the first places we check out when returning to the area. I would suggest asking for a room in the back of the hotel since the building is close to the road. Spring hIll Marriot on Richmond Highway is right next to Old Town Alexandria and the Beltway. Rooms were comfortable, parking free, complimentary breakfast very satisfying. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Excellent location close to Metro Station and shops. Noisy next-door guests, but other than that a pretty good hotel for the buck.

The hotel was not expensive so to that end it lived up to our expectations. The place in really clean . It has a nice indoor pool and very clean and well appointed gym. The breakfast was good. The eggs were a no go but most of the food was standard. Our problem was the noise . The ground floor is not the place to be in this property. Came to DC for the March for Life and couldn't have asked for a better Hotel. We had a large group in 4 separate rooms and the Hotel was great! Free breakfast, large spacious rooms, the works!

Springhill suites Marriott is the perfect hotel for a family getaway to D.C. on a budget. The hotel room had a good amount of space for a large family and was very clean. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. Indoor pool/jacuzzi was wonderful after a long day of walking. The hotel is close to a metro stop however it is not within walking distance. […] The hotel does offer a shuttle service to the metro stop which is fast and convenient. The hotel was great. Everything was clean. The breakfast was fairly good compared to most similar hotels. The pool and exercise room was great. We would definitely visit this hotel again. Close but outside DC - just perfect.

In a better part of town, so we felt safe. Very close to Metro station and they had a shuttle to station but we just parked there for $4.50 per day so we were not on a timetable. Not sure what the rate of the Holiday Inn was but it's the exact same building. Beds were a little hard for my tastes but everything else was great!

This past month I stayed here at the Springhill suites and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and the stay due to the great deal I got on the room. I was expecting a medocre place, but the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, waffles were available! It is very close to the metro and they provide free shuttle service […] which saves so much money. If you have a chance stay here! The rooms are beautiful, minus a few missed spots in bathroom. It's a new Marriott product --- conveniently located for car --- or close to Huntington Station Metro and the hotel with give you shuttle service. Not too many decent restaurants around, but if you come by car - you can get there easily enough. If by Metro - east before you board the train for home. The only "negative" was that I had to pre-pay non-refundable […] --- but since my agenda was pretty well fixed, this wasn't a major issue. The major "bad news" was that at the rate I got - under the hotels.com program - it did not qualify for Marriott Reward points and I was there 12 nights! BUMMER - but there was a major savings. The hotel was very clean, very quiet and close to everything (DC, Springfield, VA, shopping, etc.). Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again, and would recommend to anyone.

What a pleasant surprise. Located well and priced hundreds below comparable hotels in the same area! We were very pleased.

The hotel is in a not so nice looking area. After checking in, I was given a room by Kyle on the first floor. As soon as I got to my room I could see people walking by my window. The sidewalk is right by the window and I could actually hear the people outside talking. I asked for a quieter room where people weren't walking by the window and was given […] a room on the first floor again right by the front desk. Not only could I hear everyone in the lobby, but I could hear the front desk phone when it rang. Kyle was very rude and unpleasant, so I waited for the next employee to ask for another room. The next employee gave me a room on the third floor which was very quiet and very nice. Kyle was rude to me during my entire stay so I checked out early and left. Mehr

This hotel is great. The free breakfast is great. It can be tough to get a seat to eat in the morning. The room was great and the laundry was great because it was FREE!! The pool is only open from 5-10pm on weekdays and 10-10 on weekends. There is a lifegaurd on duty...though, he was pretty useless in my opinion. (IE...playing on his phone and reading […] books.) The security is great. At night you must scan your room key to open the main doors to the hotel. The shuttle to the metro was fantastic. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a pick up from the metro station. Never more than 5 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up at the hotel. Our stay At Springhill in Alexandria Va was exceptional. The room size was good, microwave & fridge nice and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean and the service was wonderful. Carlos at the desk was very helpful and any questions were addressed and answered promptly. We used the shuttle. They were very prompt. The reviews we read for Springhill Suites Alexandria were right on. The hotel was clean and the king suite room was very comfortable. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was quite good. They offer a free shuttle to the nearest Metro station which is less than a mile away. We made reservations with Springhill Suites because it had excellent reviews, promised larger rooms than usual and was available for a very reasonable price. We were in the area for over a week before Christmas visiting our daughter and her family. My mother-in-law was also visiting and we got her an adjoining room. With the sofa, desk and small kitchen […] area, plus bed and bath area, the rooms were large enough to not feel cramped being there for so long. We enjoyed the breakfast, fitness room and friendliness of the staff. We thought it would take 15-20 minutes between our daughter's house and the motel, but traveling mid-morning and later evening, we avoided major traffic and made it in 10 minutes. Very nice. CONS: When we first arrived there was a bit of construction going on - first room that we were assigned had a tube going through the window, but we were immediately assigned a different room. They were updating the business center and when it was finally ready for use one computer was slow and neither could would print. PROS: Location is great - just […] down the road from a Walmart, Target, Lowe's and a bunch of restaurants. The room was really comfortable and spacious. They also had a pool/jacuzzi, pretty well equipped fitness room and a laundry room with free wash and dry. The complimentary breakfast was also nice with yogurt, cereal, hot foods, waffles, fruit and juice. Very pleased with this hotel. Staff was helpful with tourist information. Hotel provided shuttle to Metro which was a big help to us to get into DC.

Positively everything about the hotel was lovely, but for one thing - even though the hotel wasn't remotely close to being full, we were booked into an underground-level room that was located next to the elevator, which I heard all night. I have to wonder whether the hotel intentionally used an inferior room as one designated for internet rate. That […] issue aside, what struck me the most was the PRISTINE condition of the bathtub and the linens. Even the carpet was cleaned WITHOUT the use of chemical cleaners that have, in the past, made my feet itch. The partition attached to the desk area between the bedroom and the living area was a fabulous and ingenious touch, and the large, flat screen TV rotated in each direction, although it was not viewable from a person on the couch and a person in the bed at the same time. In the morning, the breakfast was SECOND TO NONE. Pre-made omelets and sausage, fresh-cooked waffles, and a wide assortment of juices, cereals, baked goods was very nice. Even the coffee, available in the lobby 24/7, was delicious. But for my question as to whether the hotel substituted a lower-quality room for the internet price, I would give my entire experience 5 stars. I will definitely consider the hotel in the future. The neighborhood was highly commercial and on a very busy road, but the next stop on our trip was the Pentagon Memorial and it was less than a 10 minute drive. It was about the same to Mount Vernon.
