Rhodes Hotel - London

Das Frühstück war an sich ganz gut (Schulnote 3+), aber an einem der fünf Tage (Samstag) stand ich morgens vor dem Frühstücksraum in einer Schlange, weil der Raum voll war. Dafür habe ich am ersten morgen Rühreier bekommen, was soweit ich weiß nicht zum Standard dazu komment

Pros: Location is awesome. Room was great. Free breakfast was an awesome extra. London is so expensive that free breakfast is a big deal. I thought the price was reasonable for the room and location. We had the quad room. It had one double and two twin beds. The bathroom had double sinks and a jaccuzi tub. Very nice. Room was clean. Location was great, […] right on the red line. Yet hotel was very quiet. Cons: Internet connection was weak and connections were a little difficult. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. If we were going back next week, I'd stay here. Stayed at the Rhodes in Sussex Gardens. It was convenient to my meetings at Imperial College and many of the major tourist sites, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, Oxford and Picadilly Circus, etc. Friendly and helpful staff, affordable comfortable and as I expected small, but comfortable, and convenient to Paddington station for […] in town and out of town trains. For: 1) Location good 2) Well equipped for this buget 3) Clean Against: 1) No Wifi signal upstairs 2) Service poor. very rude waitress in the small basement breakfast area. Overall : good for one night busness stay around Hyde park/paddington area. But for me definitely not a good choice for leisure.

I stayed at this hotel after a very last minute booking. Judging by the charges that I was looking to pay I was expecting to be disappointed in terms of quality. When I checked in, I was taken to a second building of the hotel and was feeling rather suspicious. But upon entering my room, I was pleasantly surprised by its condition and provisions. The […] room was very clean, modern and had the most comfortable beds. The shower was newly renovated and refreshing. I would definitely definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, short-term accommodation at a reasonable price. Good stay at a good price :-) TG Mehr

This hotel is one of the best i was stayin in. Me and my girlfriend loved the stay over the Christmass in it. There are few restaurants nearby and it is about 5 min walk to Paddington subway station. The breakfast was lovely, staff very nice and helpfull. When you arrive by car, ask for a "visitor permit" for your car at the reception. I cant say anythin […] bad about this hotel, seriously. Be prepared that the rooms are a little bit small, but that doesnt really matter as the comfort and cleanliness will do a lot...I will definitelly sta again in this hotel, without no doubt about it...My big thanks for the staff at the hotel. Upon arival i was upgraded to a family room.The decor of the reception, hallway and stairs was rather tacky and no lift, in need of updating.My room was very clean. New carpets and curtains.There was a double bed and two singles. Although it said family room, there was not enough space for hanging clothes etc. The bathroom was very contemporary and […] again spotlessly clean.There was no shaver socket though. A kettle was provided, but the cable was too short to reach the plug. The breakfast room was in the basement downstairs and far too small, you felt very crammed in. Again the decor was very tacky.Breakfast was basic and i was put off from having any rolls etc as there appeared to be no tongs and people were picking them up to see what best to take. I also saw guests passing the one jar of chocolate spread around and using the same spoon and knife they had previously eaten with. I just kept to the packed yogourt. My room was on the third floor at the back, and was very quiet. I hope this hotel gets it's act together as it could achieve a return visit,but not at the condition it is now. Mehr

Friendly staff and great location, very clean and tidy but the rooms are very small, Our room was not in the main hotel but a short walk away, as the weather was good it was not a problem but if it had been raining things would have been different. Our room was very hot and the A/C seemed to have no effect, the shower ran cold and the dining room( situated […] in the main hotel) is tiny and crowded and some guest had to wait a while before being seated. As we were staying only one night we could manage but for a longer stay i would not return. Mehr

The room was a complete surprise, as I was taken to a sister hotel round the corner and a long way up narrow stairs. The room and en suite bathroom were tiny - but brand new and really well fitted out. the bed was super comfortable, shower worked really well and i felt really comfortable in my tiny room. For central London it was very good value.

When first arriving at the reception area, I really thought I had booked the wrong hotel. Reception area was not so nice, but luckily the reception was not representative for the rest of the hotel - the room was very modern and nice! Quite small, but big enough, with good beds, lights, and a quite big flat screen. It even had a European electricity […] socket, such that we did not need any adapter :-) Bathroom was small, but very nice, with a fantastic shower! Staff was very friendly and helpful, carrying all our 4 heavy suitcases to the third floor (no elevater, steep narrow staircase). Nice complimentary breakfast in a small room. Very intimate :-) Location was good, with very short walk to Paddington station and underground, and lots of places to get something to eat in the neighbourhood. Reason why rating of hotel service is 4 and not 5, is because they told us it would take about 75 min to Gatwick with taxi. Not!! We nearly lost our flight - next time we will use Gatwick express. All in all, we were pleased, and might very well chose this hotel next time we are in London. Good value for money! Mehr

This hotel was a little more expensive than the other 2 star hotels we looked at in various areas, but was the only one with good reviews. And it was amazing for two stars... completely new bathroom that was small but had great waterpressure, lots of storage room and very modern aesthetic. The room was a tiny bit more dated and smallish, but had a flatscreen […] TV with digital, but not cable channels, an entry hallway with a wardrobe, and everything you needed. It was super quiet even though we were right next to reception, the new air conditioning worked really well and hardly made a sound, the ceilings were high, and it was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were pretty helpful, they will hold on to luggage for you for as long as you need, and they called a number of taxi companies to get one at the right time and the right price. Breakfast wasn't incredible, but had as much freshly cooked toast as you wanted, cereals and muesli, croissants and fruit and filter coffee and tea etc. Mehr

This is an okay place to stay, but it is fairly basic. The hotel decor is a bit old and had me worried, but the room itself was more recently refurbished and had a newish although rather generic look. lt was clean and quiet, but very small (most of the space taken up by the bed) and with a tiny bathroom. On the plus side, TV was fairly large and wi-fi […] was free. Breakfast was basic and unspectacular but included in the price. In short - if you are looking for a place to sleep and keep your luggage, a clean bed and a good shower in a central location - Rhodes is a safe option (and by the standards of London hotels, a reasonably-priced one). You need to be young and fit if staying in this hotel - there is no lift. My room was located on the top (4th) floor) up steep and narrow staircases and it was by far the smallest hotel room I stayed in out of 16 during my month in the UK. However, it's location was convenient, close to Hyde Park and the buses along Bayswater Road, and Paddington rail […] station in the other direction. There were plenty of places to find something to eat within a short walk from the hotel. Breakfasts were good and we were even presented with an Easter egg on Easter Sunday. Mehr

Had a single room in the annex building, 3rd floor. the stairs were narrow and steep between 2nd and 3rd floor, but staff carried my suitcase AND on check-out brought it back down to reception. the room was rather small, but very quiet and clean, and it had a new bathroom. staff is very friendly and helpful with anything needed. i'd come back anyti […] me. Enkelt och bra hotell med de bkvämligheter som behövs vid en kortare vistelse i London. Nära tunnelbana mm. Rekommenderas.

Har bott på Rhodes hotel två gånger under kort tid. Perfekt hotell för den som är i London för att shoppa och turista. Nära till Lancaster Gate som ligger på Central Line, och lika nära till Paddington Railway Station. Helt okej frukost med yoghurt, toast, frukt, pålägg och lite annat. Små men rena rum och fräscha badrum!

Ett gästvänligt trevligt hotell. Smal trapp ner till vårt rum som var litet men helt ok. Nyrenoverat badrum. (tror inte det fanns hiss). Bra med vattenkokare och muggar/glas på rummet. Gratis nescafe, the och mjölk. Kylskåp fanns också. God frukost som var lite mer än continental. Musli, coco pops, flingor, youghurt, crossanger, rostat bröd, the, kaffe, […] mjölk, juice och frukt Kommer gärna åter. Mehr

Fint alternativ for den som ønsker å bo rimelig i London. Den "nye" fløyen hvor vi bodde var nyoppusset og veldig bra. Frokostrommet var litt trang, men det gikk greit det også.

Vi hamnade på sidohotellet på London Street i ett litet men ok rum. Nära tunnelbana och bussar och många restauranger. Frukosten helt ok!

Fin beliggenhet og nærme undergrunnen. Man får mye for pengene på dette hotellet. Bygningen er noe slitt, men rommene er fine. Hyggelig personale, de var veldig hjelpsomme med transport til og fra flyplassen.

Rommet vårt var kjempefint med moderne interiør og et nytt bad. Hotellets beliggenhet var helt perfekt, kort vei til butikker, t-bane og togstasjon. I tillegg til at det lå nærmest rett ved Hyde Park. Rent og ryddig og kjempehyggelige og hjelpsomme hotellansatte!! :-D

Jätte bra hotell och mycket prisvärt! Läget är perfekt då det är gångavstånd till de flesta typiska sevärdigheterna, tex Madame tassudes, Oxford street, Harrods m.m Rekomenderar detta hotell varmt!

Buen hotel, con el encanto de las típicas casas de Londres. La situación es excelente tanto para hacer turismo como para viajes de trabajo, con una excelente comunicación en metro en la zona 1. Buena elección para viajes con la familia. La atención es excelente, facilitan la estancia y dan solución a cualquier necesidad que se tenga. Desde luego […] es recomendable. Mehr

Ligger perfekt i Paddington nära tågstationen. Små enkelrum med ännu mindre toalett. Försökte äta frukost i matsalen men blev först åthutad av en brysk servitris för att jag satt mig på fel plats, därefter glömdes jag totalt bort. Gav upp och gick när ingen serverat mig efter tio minuters väntan. Åt frukost på stan i stället.

Un tarif raisonnable, une chambre correcte, une localisation permettant d'accéder facilement au quartier des grands magasins londoniens (Oxford Street). Il ne faut cependant pas s'attendre au service ou à la qualité d'un 3* (qui serait bien plus cher)

Hotellet är mycket bra beläget nära till allt, trevliga kvarterspubbar och nära till Paddingtonstation. Se upp med bokningen bara svårt att förstå vi trodde vi bokat ett dubbel och ett trippel rum men fick ett singel och ett fyrbäddsrum.

Rhodes Hotel is in a nice area - my room was quite small - but nice - clean and creatively constructed to have all necessary facilities to be fresh & ready for next days work.
