We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. There was plently for the kids to do, and the convenience of this hotel makes it the perfect place to stay. The staff was beyond helpful and courteous and made our short stay in Portsmouth a very pleasant one. I will always choose to stay at the Residence Inn when I come to this beautiful town!!

We had a great time and enjoyed the hotel amenities very much! You can't beat the level of service we received from check in to check out. The location is difficult because of construction and lack of parking.

My teenage daughter and I, along with her best friend, wanted a little get away and the Marriott was absolutely perfect in every way! The girls and I loved the cookies which greeted us at reception, the pool and workout room was exactly what we were looking for and the evening hors d'oeuvres were fantastic! The location of the hotel was really ideal […] for us since we could easily walk to all the shops and restaurants. The room was superb as we had a one bedroom with a little kitchen. This really came in handy for storing leftovers, cooking popcorn and warming up hot chocolate. Everything was very clean, there was ample space and every employee we encountered seemed so genuinely happy and helpful. We really had a lovely time and would very highly recommend this hotel! Mehr

Stayed two nights in a suite and it was very nice. Good size room with a kitchen. Valet is very reasonable. My only complaint is that the bed was hard and i didnt sleep that good. Full free breakfast in the morning as well

We stayed for one night at this hotel to break up a longer road trip - after we walked into the room we wished we could have stayed for the whole weekend. The room was so spacious and comfortable - great walking distance to downtown restaurants and bars. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was so clean it was like it had never been stayed […] in before. The bartender at the lobby bar was very nice and helpful when we asked him about local places to get a bite to eat late. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and in fact, look forward to it! Room heating was noisy. We reserved a one bedroom suite which turned out to be the handicapped room. Free breakfast buffet-very average but no other restaurant options in hotel. Pool but no hot tub.

Terrific staff who are pleasant, attractive and helpful. Very nice, fully equipped rooms with kitchenette. Free Wi-Fi, breakfast and reasonable valet costs. Qaulity of hotel is much better than the Sheraton which is a block away.

We had a wonderful 3 night getaway. Did more shopping than we should have. Had some wonderful meals at Portsmouth restaurants.....Cafe Mediterraneo was a favorite. Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly. We will stay there again!

The hotel is quite nice - great location, good condition and decor, very friendly staff. Everything was great except that the bed was so hard that both my boyfriend and I had trouble sleeping. The pillows were also quite soft and not good for us side sleepers. The receptionists are very friendly and take initiative to ask how they can help to make your stay more enjoyable or convenient. The rooms are clean and have lots of amenities. The breakfast is good. A great value if visiting the area and need a nice place to stay

Although a little pricey, the room was exceptional. Plenty of space, lots of storage, very clean and nicely decorated. Parking is not included, but should be for this price. Breakfast is included and was very good. The staff was excellent and the cookies at the front desk were a nice surprise. The shower was very modern and open. I'm 5'6" and it was […] a stretch for me to reach the nozzle, which needed to be turned so water did not spill out the opening. I can't imagine how a shorter person would be able to adjust it. Mehr

Our stay at the Portsmouth Marriott was outstanding in every way. The front lobby staff was superior and they (Megan and Troy) were so helpful with our questions and suggestions as well as directions for places to visit. Bed is a bit uncomfortable and the position of the bed with the bathroom makes for bright light in your partners face while entering the bathroom in the night.

Great location, service and breakfast. The only minor complaint we had with the hotel proper was that the stairwells needed to be vacuumed. The parking lot is either in a city lot or on the street. We went to Portsmouth to celebrate our friends 50th Birthday. The hotel was full but you never would have known it. There were several bachelorette parties going on in the hotel but once they closed their doors you couldn't hear them. Very close to all the shops, restaurants and night life. Will definately return.

We weren't sure what to expect from a Residence Inn but were pleasantly surprised. Found last minute deal on Hotels.com and very happy we did. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was nice. They offered free laundry detergent and dryer sheets which was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious and clean. And they set up a playpen for […] our baby. By far the most friendly hotel staff I've ever dealt with. From The front desk to the restaurant, and maid staff. Thanks for a great stay. (I hope your boss reads this# I'd only take away one point out of 100 for a somewhat uncomfortable pull out sofa. #Whoever builds those things should spend a night on one!)
