The Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel - Fairfax

Ausser einem chronischen Problem -- schon bei mehreren Aufenthalten zu registrieren -- mit der Temperatur des Essens am Frühstücksbuffet kann man nur gutes über das Hotel berichten, das ich seit seiner Eröffnung vor ca. 2 Jahren mehrfach besuchte .. wenn auch nie so preiswert wie bei einer Buchung über expedia von Deutschland aus.

I expected more as an Alum. No refrigerator and no microwave in the room make life more difficult with a child. The pool was closed for a swim meet. They had to change out the heating unit in my room during our stay. It was one thing after another and we only stayed for 2 nights. Comfortable, roomy, clean. Parking is easy too. Some noise from kids in hallway but less than 10mins for sure. Would stay again.

Great place to stay on business. On GMUs campus but very clean. I haven't ventured out anywhere surrounding the hotel to eat but the hotel bar serves great food and drinks for a decent price.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff is phenomenal, the service was outstanding and my room was clean and comfy. My only complaint is that the fitness center needs updating. This knocked my rating down a notch because this is an amenity that I look for when I book hotels. A student told me later that I could have used the nearby campus fitness center […] for $5. Very large and comfortable rooms. Staff were very helpful throughout. Hotel is located at edge of University campus, so you need to drive everywhere, but that's true of most places outside the main cities. As a base for exploring it was ideal, and could be used for Washington too if you're happy with a park & ride (which we are). But it is a little […] remote, and we subsequently stayed at a Residence Inn in Fairfax which felt more like you were in the middle of things. First impressions always count and in this case we were not disappointed. The Inn cares about pleasing their guests. Excellent communications with the staff; updated room decore, cleanliness, comfort and service. The bathroom was immaculate and sparkling clean with a very pleasant decore. Free shuttle service to the Vienna station 30 minutes. Free parking. My stay at Mason Inn was great, the distance from DC was great and the surrounding area was very nice. The front desk staff recommended some great places to eat. My only issue was an issue with the hotel shuttle to the Vienna train stop. Due to this, the Hotel comped a breakfast buffet at the hotel but it was for 1/21 and not 1/22. This hotel was wonderful. It is around the block from my son and daughter-in-laws house. We were able to see our granddaughter without a lot of traveling. Then our grandson was born and the hospital was only 15 mins away. We enjoyed the restaurants. The food was delicious and unique. Wish we could have stayed for the Valentines Dinner.

This hotel is refreshingly modern, clean and well designed offering an aesthetic experience that sparkles. I loved being adjacent to the GMU campus and as a hotel guest used the University gym--two minutes away on foot. The hotel is within a short easily navigable distance of an unbelievable selection of ethnic restaurants.

While the hotel location was perfect, just on the outs of Washington, DC, my room was much to be desired because of the smell. The decor was very nice but I just couldn't get past the odor! They sent housekeeping to my room to spray some fabric freshener but the smell quickly came back. The smell was like a damp washcloth that's been used excessive […] and no matter how much you wash it the smell remains. Yuck! Given how lovely the room was my bet is on the rotten carpet. Hotel is on the George Mason university campus so you will need a car if you are traveling to DC. Very Limited resturant selection in the vicinity otherwise the hotel itself was great!

Very nice place to stay on the cheap for the area. Beds are very comfortable. Very clean. Very nice bar downstairs that serves a good variety of stuff. I wish this place was here when i went to school here several years back.

We came for a concert at the Patriot Center. Perfect place to stay. Walked over and never had to move the car! We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good food... service was good. Had breakfast the next day.. good food - so so service. Never came back to ask if we needed anything - like more coffee. Friendly servers tho and over all not a bad place […] to eat. Great new hotel. Everything was perfect. My only complaint was that I booked a king room and all they had was two full beds, but for a lone business traveller that doesn't make a huge difference for me. Overall great hotel.

Everything was great...until I wanted to put my drinks away. I prepaid for 3 days stay and I was told (after my first night) that if I wanted a fridge, I would have needed to request it in advance. :-/

The only reason to stay here is the convenience to George Mason University. Otherwise it is a little pricey, there was no fridge or microwave in the room, and no guide on the television although there was a good choice of channels--you just couldn't ever figure out what you were watching until it was on. Every morning without fail someone would open […] our door between 7 and 8 AM because the knock was barely audible and there was no wait time before turning the key. The restaurant food was ok, nothing great. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower clean and hot, towels and all that were plentiful. The room quiet.
