DEWITT PLACE - Chicago

The Dewitt is just a block from Lakeside Drive and is within walking distance to lots of Chicago attractons. The Bus and Trolley tour is just two blocks away as is Sears Tower and the Observatory. The Navy Pier is a nice stroll along the Lake. Tons of restaurants and casual eateries make for a culinary adventure. The apartment was clean and well kept […] and the staff were courteous and helpful. My one complaint is that we were in Chicago during a heat wave and the room, although equipped with a window AC, came up short on ventilation. Otherwise, everything here was superior or better. Mehr

What a lovely place to stay...eventhough we had very little interaction with the satff, the interaction we did have was great. The room was really wonderful and really well located.

The Dewitt Place is really a long term stay facility rather than a hotel. But they also allow weekend stays. We loved the Dewitt Place because of the location as well as the over and above efforts of the staff to meet our needs. The room was spotless, although not fancy, which was fine with us. We will definitely stay again if we can be so fortunate […] to get such a lovely and convenient place to stay. Mehr

Guests cannot check in if they arrive after 5 pm as the hotel does not have any staff on site after five. However, this important information was not mentioned to us either by hotels.com or on the Dewitt Place's website. Fortunately we arrived just before five and were able to check in. If we were late, we could have been looking for another accomodation […] despite having paid for a confirmed reservation at Dewitt place. I called the hotel few days before I checked in, but they failed to provide this important information to me even on the phone. Heating was poorly functional. Its centrall controlled and staff provided us with portable fans for the entire duration of our stay to keep the room warm. Hotel provides a wireless internet facility, but you need to set up the wireless connection before you can use the internet. If you are not very familiar with this, you might have trouble setting up the internet and will have to wait till the next day when staff can help you with this issue. Bathroom was extremely small and tatty. Hotel website, mentions fully functional kitchen - but several items were missing. Cleaning of the room comes at an extra charge and needs to be requested. The only good thing about the hotel is its location. Its two block away from the Michigan avenue. Mehr

Na verdade, não é um hotel. Trata-se de um prédio de kitinetes mobiliadas com estrutura e serviços de apoio. As instalações são simples, mas tudo bem limpo. É lugar para quem não faz questão das mordomias de um hotel, pois não há serviço de quarto diariamente. Mas oferece a conveniência de uma cozinha equipada para se fazer a própria comida no quarto. […] O pessoal é muito gentil e prestativo. A localização é boa. Fica a dois quarteirões do John Hancock Center, e da Magnificent Mile, onde se encontram praças de alimentação e lojas de conveniência, além das lojas de grifes famosas. Indo para o lado oposto, o Lago Michigan fica a um quarteirão. Mehr
