Bed was a little old and flimsy. Pillows were too soft and need replacing.

8 girls traveling from France. Great, friendly service. Easy to find. Great location and very clean! We would definitely recommend to others!

Desk staff unavailable after 5. Had to go to bar if we had questions. Very loud. This was a very basic needs motel. Not suitable for kids.

I can't say much for our stay at the Drake. It was clean, conveniently located and for the price it was good.

its a old hotel dont expect a 5 star a little over priced

Had a great stay at the Drake. Room very comfortable,clean and fresh. Enjoyed a good free breakfast. Reception . Lady at reception very friendly, helpful and fast check in and out. Will definitly use again and recommend to friends.

I arrived at 7pm to find my key in the mail box and the office closed. I had called days before to ask for two rooms side by side. They said no problem, but our rooms were 6 rooms apart. The next morning, I woke up to go skiing. At 7:50 the office where the breakfast was to be served was still locked. I called the after hours number and the guy (whoI […] clearly woke up) told me that it doesn't start until 8am. By 8:10 it was still locked so we went to mcdonalds. I heard that he didn't open the office or serve breakfast until after 9. I will not stay there again. Mehr

hotel location is good but there's a pub by the hotel and you can hear people yelling and running making too much noise

Drapes were ready to fall off plus see through and barely covered the window. TV went from red to green, floor had not been vacuumed. Very cramped in the room. Water took forever to warm up. But the bed was comfortable and had no complaints with the office staff.

We had a very pleasant two days there , a little misunderstanding with room housekeeping but they supplied fresh towels. I found the staff very pleasant and will go back there.

Our room was right next to the bar padio which was not good considering there is no air conditioning in the rooms so you have to leave your window open and the blinds are see through so everyone can see in. Very nice view with a bench to enjoy it and a creek just behind the hotel. We stayed 2 nights and the only thing they did was made the bed. They […] never gave us another package of coffee or nothing. In a bind I would stay there but would not be my first choice again. However the resturant has very good food. Mehr

We had a nice stay. Nice simple rooms that are maintained nicely and kept clean. Staff very helpful however the office closes fairly early so make certain you have everything you need. Perfect location. Close to everything just loved being by the water and close to the shopping. Very happy with choice.

just okay. on arrival,we found pennies, hair bobby pins and general debris on the floor (not vacuumed).we asked the check-in staff to clean it up, she was apologetic and had it cleaned. the next day we had to ask twice for our room to be made up because every time we would come back, it still was'nt done. there was dirt and dried pop on the nightstand, […] and very dirty marks on the bathroom door , both inside and ouside. one night there was a live band , but they wanted a $20 cover charge (per person) I wasn't sure where we would eat, as a cover charge was unacceptable for a general pub/dining room Mehr

The place is best classified as a one star dump: no elevator to upper levels, not enough parking spaces, poor quality TV reception, worn out towels, areas in need of painting, etc, etc, the list goes on. We would have cancelled our reservation except there was no way to get our money back. What appeared on the web site was not at all what we got. The room was old - smelling like cigarette. no fridge or flat screen tv like indicated on the web site and was above the bar patio below. NO AC so we had to open the widow to get some air, this had us up till 3 am cause of the bar being open, people partied till then. The cost was WAY over […] priced. Mehr

This hotel needs to be gutted and re built as it is out dated and showing wear. doors are peeling paint, linoleum is cracked and worn, no A/C, hair dryer didn't work. It does have a very lively pub attached to it that serves great food at a reasonable price. Will never stay here again.

I have stayed here before booking this room. I chose to stay here because I knew that my friends and I would be having drinks at the Drake bar and only have to stumble up a flight of stairs and through the door to the bed to get home. No cab needed, because the cab companies can be somewhat difficult to deal with, espcially "Two Brothers Taxi". Facts […] are the room is only a place to sleep, not a place to sit and relax. The rooms are old and need to be renovated. I could hear the person upstairs stomping around. Its cheap for a reason and if you want a place to kick it this isn't it. However location and proximity to the night life makes it worth while! Rose and Crown across the street, Drake bar right down stairs, Grizzly Paw down the street. So, if your trip to Canmore is based on going out and whooping it up with your buddies - stay here! But please be respectful of the hotel, its policies and the other people staying there! Mehr

Our room was with dirty widows, dirty walls, smelly, worn off furniture... the rate was the same as for Banff... (we were staying there for the long week end). Continental breakfast was served at 3 tables in the small, smelly office, very simple and sugary. I will never come back to this ruined old inn, should be thorouglly renovated..

the receptionist was pleasant and tried to be helpful, but not what I was looking for...told I had a fridge...fridge was missing...no other rooms available with fridge...eventually stored my stuff in office fridge...room was rough around the edges and was in need of maintenance...could hear people in adjoining room too easily...mattress should be replaced...bed […] cover quilt was dirty and should have been cleaned...pretty sure I won't be back. This hotel was comfortable to stay in giving that it was only for one night. The only drawback was that there is a pub on the main floor and when it is last call you can hear people walking outside the hotel.

Nice clean and tidy would stay there again

humble and quite rooms, just what we were looking for. rude and unaccommodating staff, we could have done without. other than the brass and unfriendly front desk clerks, the restaurant staff and food were great! rooms were clean

this place sucked. Doesnt look like it has had any improvements since 1970. A very poor choice for the same price as much better hotels.

Used the hotel for a 1 night stay on route. Hotel is fine and would used again. The only down siade for us was the restaurant had a private function on and couldn't use it.

you get what you pay for - decent enough motel for the skier who wants to dump the car and head out for a few beers within a few minutes walk

The Drake is conveniently located in Canmore for theatre, shopping, skiing, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, fantastic views even from the cheap rooms, free wi-fi, TV (we never watch so don't know what they have), not luxurious, but very comfortable and well priced. Continental breakfast was the usual cereal and/or toast, but the coffee was […] great. Not enough parking for the busy nights, so park early or be prepared to walk a block or across the street. Much better than the nameless economy lodges. We will be back - and regularly! Mehr

We stayed at the drake because we had a group get together at the Drake pub. So as we needed a place to crash, it was a good location. We were not too picky about where we stayed as we usually would be. We just wanted it to be a clean place to stay and it was. The room is old looking but slept fine and it was really clean room.

Our room was close to the restaurant and bar, which was a little noisy during our stay (a Friday and Saturday). The location was convenient. We were there during the peak travel season, but I'm not sure the motel was worth the charged price. There are many other motel or hotel options in Canmore if you are seeking the best deal. The drake is in a great location in Canmore. It's right off of Main street where all the shops and restaurants are. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and always smiling.

Very disappointed in this Inn. Room was very dated (1970's) and had no a/c. The TV was a 19 inc - very sad - an old Motor Inn with no updates. Staff was very nice but they could not compensate for the hotel. Not enough parking for vehicles. Some had to park across the street in the lot of the local super market. The room rate is cheaper compared with those of hotels inside the Banff park. The hotel is located about 40 minutes drive from the gate of the Banff national park, so it is a convenient location to stay overnight before starting to enjoy the Banff park at the early morning.
