Very satisfied. Was an enjoyable stay in a top location. Elevated view over gardens much appreciated.

this hostel have a nice location before eartquake, but when I came many store is still closed. YMCA is a good place but I think its expensive

I stayed at the Y twice during my visit to Christchurch. The rate is very low, but the accommodation is not worth it! The doors and windows are thin and you can hear everything all the way down the hallway and the TV in the lounge. The bathrooms are all along the hallways so you hear people slamming doors all night long. You can ask people to be quieter, […] but how can you ask everyone? It is on a busy corner where city buses turn and stop (loud at night). The beds were boards with worn-out thin mattresses. The food in the cafeteria isn't that great but a good price compared to NZ prices. There is a tiny kitchen on the 1st floor but most things were broken, including the microwave oven. There are 3 very slow internet computers in the lobby at a rate of $1 per 10 minutes. The location is pretty good as it is close to the Red Zone, the container stores (expensive, but go see them), the Canterbury Museum, and the Botanical Gardens (highly recommended!) and not too far from the art gallery. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Pegasus (tavern/pub) is pretty good. Mehr

Very busy hostel operating 24 hours a day because of the pressure of hotel space in Christchurch.

Excellent location, close to Botanic Gardens and Museum. Staff were both courteous and helpful. I'll go there again next time I'm in Christchurch.

This youth hostel is excellently situated just seconds away from the beautiful botanical gardens and museum. It is also minutes away from the city center, which is mostly closed due to the numerous Earthquakes that have struck this region. Overall this was a good place to stay, the beds had electric blankets, the rooms clean and warm, there is a small […] kitchen (though eating out for lunch/dinner can be cheaper than buying food in CC) - I would have no qualms with recommending this place, it's not a plush hotel, but as a base for a few nights it's ideal and well priced. For those considering a journey around the South Island, I would visit the botanical gardens in CC and, they are extensive and beautiful. CC is a beautiful city in all it's glory, but it was a bit of a ghost town when we were there.. Mehr

Room is clean and the rate is affordable. Friendly staff. Free parking available. However, the kitchen is extremely small (relative to numbers of rooms and guest available), the facilities in the kitchen are incomplete. Shared bathroom/toilet for males and females. It would be good to have separate shared bathroom for males and females respectively

Am satisfied with the stay at YMCA, Christchurch. Godd value for money. Very convenient & practical and food chocice available is very practical for passing through traveller.

Very nice back packer style accommodation in central location. Highly recommend

Great location in the central business district - unfortunately due to the earthquake, nothing in the area is open and finding simple conveniences is difficult.

Nice clean and comfortable rooms, it feels almost more like a nice hotel than a hostel.

heater was not working when i was in the room. but the staffs were very nice, and the rate of room quite cheap.

very good location. and the room look good. staff very friendly and help fully .

The rooms are not that tidy and the beds are very small in size. During my stay, it was St. Patrick's Day of Irish and that night was very noisy as music could be heard at 2 a.m. Could not sleep well though. The hotel is over-priced as there are not many hotels in town open now. Some staff is not that familiar of the restaurants that was open in […] the area and I was disappointed that they recommended me to go to a restaurant that was occupied by hundreds of Irish that night. I just need a quiet place to have my dinner, but not going for a drink with the Irish. Eventually I found one restaurant open, but it is not easy to dine out in Christchurch now. ＊ダニにさされた ＊スタッフの対応がひどく冷たかった トランジットの都合で行きと帰りの一泊づつ利用しました。行きのときはスタッフの対応もよく、帰りも使用することにしたのですが、帰りのときのフロントスタッフの対応が悪すぎる。何かを訪ねても言葉も発さずに首を横に振るだけ。 日本から持参した電気器具を使いたかったため、アダプターを借りようとしたところ、貸してはもらえたけれど、そもそもかしてくれたアダプターがニュージーランドのソケットに対応していないものでした。これも説明して他のものを貸してくれと頼んでも、持っているのが見えるのにこれは貸せない、どうしても必要なら電気屋で買えと言われました。あげくにベッドでノミだかダニだかにさされるしまつ。 はっきりいってコストパフォーマンスもよくない。同じ金額で […] もっといい施設はいくらでもあります。次からは使用しません。 Mehr

Hyggeligt hostel

Hela centrum har rasat eller ska rivas och återuppbyggas. Det är som att bo i en krigszon. Nästan inga restauranger finns kvar. Fruktansvärt sorgligt. Hoppas att de kommer igång med återuppbyggnaden snart eller att de flyttar stadens centrum till ett säkrare ställe.

共有スペースが広くないので、たまり場的泊り客がうるさくなく、その分個室がひろくとっているかもしれません。ツインが用意されていてよかった。Ｗベッドになることが多いので。 廊下のコーナーで２３ｈ熱いお湯がつかえるのがたすかりました。

Accueil chaleureux, bon rapport qualité prix. Mais quelle tristesse que la ville de Christchurch un an après le tremblement de terre. La ville est dévastée et mettra bien 10 à 15 à s'en remettre. Il faut y aller, ça donne du baume au coeur aux habitants qui ont bien dérouillé. La région le vaut vraiment le coup.

Et av få hotel i bykjernen som fortsatt er aktivt etter det fatale jordskjelvet i byen i 2011. Helt ok rom, man ksal jo ikke være så mye inne så det fungerer greit som overnatting. Rimelig og nært bussen om man reiser kollektivt gjennom landet. Fin park ligger like ved, og museet er rett over gaten.

J'avais bien entendu parler du tremblement de terre qui a touché Christchurch, mais ce n'est que sur place que j'ai réalisé l'étendue du désastre : dans le centre-ville, tout est soit détruit, soit fermé. Donc, même s'il n'y a rien à reprocher à cet hôtel, il n'y a aucun intérêt à choisir ce coin pour y dormir ; choisissez donc plutôt un endroit en […] banlieue, où les dégâts sont moins importants, ou plus proche des transports. Christchurch city area is still blocked and closed....and many places have been destroyed, and seems many people have left the city....it's too long to stay for more days but only for a flight transfer pt.
