great clean family atmosphere. one thing was mis understood , the room size . it's a difference in suite and just 2 double queen beds .it was really small space ,no privacy with my 13yrs son . enjoy everything else. super clean

Service was great. Staff was very helpful and courteous....from front desk to housekeeping to shuttle driver. Shuttle service to Metro Station is very convenient. Hotel is clean.

The personnel at the hotel were fantastic. They were more accomodating than anywhere I have ever stayed. One staff volunteered to assist with our luggage which was not his responsiblity and refused to accept a tip. He simply said I saw that you needed help and this was something I wanted to do. Its nice to know there are some people who still are willing […] to do things without wanting something in return. the maid service sucked but the Customer service was great. I was close to the highway so i got to my events with ease. Breakfast was great! the room was comfortable and spacious! walls a little thin, but once I was sleep it didnt matter. :)

The room reserved was not the room received even though room was paid in full in advance. This is the second time at the same facility a king room was reserved and a double room received. I will no longer stay at this hotel if they can not deliver what is reserved.

We thought the hotel was very new and modern and the room was really nice and roomy. The breakfast was good. The staff were all very nice and I enjoyed the gym and hot tub.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel greatly. It was as far as cleanliness and service, top rated in my book. The ONLY downfall is the 25 dollar credit card "hold" on your account. When checking in, the lady said that it would come off when I check out. Then I read the note that said two business days... I checked out Monday, it is almost the end of Thursday's […] business day and I still have the hold which is pretty disheartening considering how happy I was with the hotel. Mehr

The staff was very friendly and helpful with information about the area.

the hotel is close to both huntington subway station and mt vernon. but u will need cars to get to both places. metro station is about 1-2 mins drive away and they do have shuttle (only between 7am-9pm though). and its about 15mins drive to vernon. given its price its not a bad choice...

The hotel is convenient for our needs, the breakfast is not only good, but fast and convenient. Rooms are clean and the employees at the desk are very friendly and helpful. We stay there quite often when I return for work in Virgnia and to visit friends and have never had a bad experience.

hotel is clean. hot sauna is small but cozy. the hotel makes you pay $25 dollars with credit card and they credit you back. it's mandatory so if you bought via hotels.com and paid for it, no turning back. i saw this one guy leave after long argument with rude clerk.

My criteria was a reasonable price and a good neighborhood for my stay with my daughter. When we arrived we found the hotel was overbooked but they upgraded us to a suite. The free shuttle to the metro ran until 9:30 PM which was very convenient. Free breakfast was decent, the help worked hard to keep up with the demand as the lounge was full. No waffle […] machine, but they did have a pancake machine :) Hot eggs with sausage or bacon (not both same day). The staff was very helpful and nice and the place was clean and in great condition. My only complaint was that the indoor pool was really an indoor hot tub that was so chlorinated it made our eyes burn. But we did not come here to swim, nor was that a requirement for our stay. Mehr

Complimentary shuttle to Metro was a great convenience. Nice complimentary breakfast. Problem getting on the internet for the first couple nights, but finally got on the third night. I liked the treadmill with the built-in TV.

The service and the condition of the hotel is very good, but the breafast is just soso.

My stay was perfect. The hotel was conveintly located near several resturants and stores. Would recommend to everyone.

The hotel had everything we required, we had no complaints with the facility whatsoever. Our only complaint is you had to have a credit card to stay... We booked and paid in advance and was not told we had to leave a credit card hold of twenty five dollars. Not a real problem, because we had a credit card...but didn't like the option of not having […] a cash option. This mainly because this was the first leg of a three city , 10 day vacation -and I didn't want any fees being held in excess of 24hrs- with banks being closed on and off during this holiday season.. Oh well- would I stay again....most certainly- since now I know the policy... Mehr

Hotel was worth every dime. In addition to good service, hotel's breakfast was excellent for the price. Only drawback were the sirens from police cars and fire trucks. They were often.

I really enjoyed my stay and the comfort of the hotel/room.

It was a very nice hotel with an awesome continental breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was close to Mt. Vernon and Ol' Town Alexandria!!!

This hotel is great on Richmond Hwy. Free parking and it is not far from the yellow line metro if you are going to go sight-seeing downtown Wash DC or Old Town Alexandria. Five Guys, Chili's, Famous Dave's and a Walmart are close by. At the time of our stay this hotel is still almost new. So it is fresh and nice.

I was very happy with my stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Richmond Hwy. The rooms were comfortable, cozy and everything was quiet. It's very close to the Metro to get anywhere in the city you need to go. The staff was extremely helpful and very accomodating. The only thing I wish was if you had some smoking rooms for your smoking guests instead of […] having to go outside to smoke. Other than that, I was quite delighted with my stay there. I've stayed there numerous times and keep going back because it's so nice!!! Mehr

We stayed here for three nights, Friday thru Monday AM. We were very pleased with the hotel. It is new and was very clean and inviting. Our room was very quiet; we, hardly heard any outside noise. There was a wide variety of food for breakfast (cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, rolls, muffins, biscuits, and pancakes). The area was kept clean […] and replenished. The lounge was comfortable - we stayed there to play board games with friends and to watch Sunday Night Football. An office area was available to print boarding passes. great hotel, have free shuttle to the metro station. about 40 mins from monuments in Washington DC

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was very clean and spacious. I would stay here again. The location was great.

This Hoilday Inn Express is a wounderful place to stay. The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are great. This will be the hotel of my choice for any futrue stay in northen Vergina.

The quality of the service was outstanding. Anytime we had a question about driving directions the staff was courteous and patient. The breakfast was good on one of the two days that we stayed at this hotel, but the first day left a little to be desired. The room was spotless and very comfortable considering that the days we stayed were 100 degrees.The […] lobby and other areas of the hotel appeared to be in good condition. There is a business center for those who do not bring a computer with them. The surrounding neighborhood had many restaurants and shops. The reason we rated the hotel a 3 for convenience of location because you need a GPS to navigate the various neighborhoods of the DC area; you need luck and a prayer otherwise. We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was fantastic - everyone went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. We really appreciated having the shuttle to the Huntington Metro station; it was a great way to avoid driving our car while in the area. Breakfast was very good, especially the cinnamon rolls. I miss them already! Our room was large […] and comfortable. The exercise room was well maintained with excellent equipment (and TVs on the treadmills and ellipticals). The business center had 2 working computer and printers, which came in handy during our stay. The only issue we had with our room was that the deadbolt lock on our room's door did not work. The staff offered to put us in a different room (so they could work on the door lock) but we decided to stay in the room because we didn't think the lock was going to be an issue - and it wasn't. The hotel was decent. Breakfast was ok- eggs sucked and they were out of juice, but they did have cinnamon rolls which were fantastic! The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable- but the wall unit ac was very loud in both of the rooms we had. The hotel is not really within walking distance to the metro as advertised, but the free trans […] to/from it was easy. The metro took about 35 minutes to get into central DC from the Huntington Stop. Overall- I would stay again, although there are cheaper places around the area to consider as well. Mehr

we loved everything about this place. after a long day of driving, their jacuzzi was a welcome and comforting experience as it soothed our day away. the room was very nice and we loved their breakfast. i would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Hotel was great. If you are vacationing in DC, I recommend staying here. It is 5 min. drive from Huntington Subway stop; I prefer to take public transit since traffic is iffy and it's hard to find parking in DC. From there, you can take subway system into DC area. A tip is to take the subway after 9AM because it is a reduced rate and you avoid the morning […] congestion of people going to work and return after 7PM for same reason. Staying outside DC is a lot cheaper than in the city. Alexandria, VA is a good safe area although there is a cheap motel that is not so nice looking right next to it. The complimentary breakfast was good: eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins, toast, cinnamon buns, cereal, juice, coffee hit the spot in the morning. The gym was good and the hot tub hit the spot after a long day of walking around the mall area where all the monuments and museums are. Room was clean, it had a good sized refrigerator, and comfortable. Only bad part about the hotel is the cheap motel right next to it. Mehr

Location convenient for Reagan airport but not for Washinton city, as quite outside. Very comfortable rooms and good customer service. Breakfast was 7 out of 10. Recommended..
