Da eine Hotelbewertung wie der Name schon sagt die Qualität des Hotels bewerten soll und nicht zB die Lage, kann und werde ich mich auch nur dazu äußern. Zunächst zum Service: Dieser war nicht vorhanden. Empfangen wurde man zwar, allerdings scheiterte der mutmaßliche Angestellte dann schon an der Auffindung unserer Reservierung im PC und erklärte uns […] dann, wir müssten unser fest gebuchtes Zimmer nach zwei Tagen wechseln (was wir dann auf eigenes Betreiben doch nicht mussten, bzw. einfach nicht taten). Zu den Zimmern selbst: In meinem ganzen "Hotelleben" habe ich noch kein schlechteres Zimmer bewohnt. Angefangen von der miserablen Einrichtung (zum Teil nicht mehr gebrauchsfähig) bis hin zu ekligen - nicht identifizierbaren Flecken auf Boden, Wand, Bett u.a. konnte der Raum mit allen Aspekten der Abartigkeit und Unapetitlichkeit aufwarten. Den Boden des Zimmers konnte man guten Gewissens barfuß nicht betreten, sodass wir dazu die in der Rezeption ausliegenden Broschüren als "Schuhe" verwendeten. Auch das Badezimmer trieb mir die Tränen des Ekels in die Augen. Auch hier toppte eine Abartigkeit die nächste. Eine nicht abschließbare Tür machte den Anfang, die nur sporadisch funktionierende Klospülung tat ihr übriges, Handtücher minderster Qualität machten Duschen zur Qual. Doch die Spitze der pervertierten Hygiene waren die Sanitäranlagen an sich. Ein noch nie geputztes Waschbecken, die angeschimmelte Dusche, sowie der ekelhafteste Badezimmerschrank, den ich je gesehen habe, stellten den eigenen Drang sich zu Säubern auf eine harte Probe, zumal das Bad bei jedem Duschgang mit drei bis vier Handtüchern ausgelegt werden musste um nicht das ganze Zimmer zu überschwemmen (undichte Dusche). Zu den Betten: Diese waren neben ihrer Ekelhaftigkeit bedingt durch Flecken auf der Matratze und an Stellen die man nicht sehen konnte und wollte sowieso schon per se schlecht. Das Personal wirkte genervt, Zimmer schmutzig , keine Möbel, Badezimmer mit Toilette sehr verdreckt und schimmlig. Frühstück war okay. Die Lage ist super, Madame Tussauds ist nur 5 Minuten entfernt, guter Zugang zu 2 Underground Stations ! ( Marylebone und Baker Street ) Leider konnten die Fenster nicht geöffnet werden, sonst hätte man den Geruch von […] Abwasserkanal und Schimmel aus dem Badezimmer bekommen ! Mit dem Hotel kann man aufgrund seiner zentralen Lage sehr zufrieden sein. Der Comfort und die Zimmer lassen etwas zu wünschen übrig. Jedoch ist dies eine sehr günstige Alternative zu anderen Hotels in London.

Dann das Zimmer: ein baufälliger Balkon, spartanische Ausstattung geringster Güte, das Doppelbett etwa 10 cm grösser als ein handelsübliches Einzelbett. Keine Toilettenartikel für den Hotelgast ausser einer bereits ausgepackten und bereits benutzten Seife. Sowie bei zwei Übernachtungen keine Zimmerreinigung (Bett machen, Bad putzen, Klopapier nachfüllen, […] etc.) Dieses Hotel ist nicht einmal bei Großstadtstandards wie New York oder London zu empfehlen. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Auch wenn man die unterschiedlichen Hotelstandards weltweit berücksichtigt, ist der Zustand dieses Hotels mehr als unterdurchschnittlich. Obwohl wir nur eine Nacht in diesem Hotel gebucht haben,sollten die Mindestanforderungen erfüllt werden. Das Zimmer war nicht gereinigt.In diversen Schubladen befanden sich leere […] Bierflaschen und Snackverpackungen des vorherigen Gastes.Das Bad war ebenfalls nicht gereinigt.Sanitäre Anlagen schienen jahrzehntelang vernachlässigt und fast unbrauchbar.Wenn mann Glück hatte,ließ sich die Toilettenspülung nach unzähligen Versuchen betätigen. Room wasn't even finished. Side of bath was missing, hole in roof, ladders lent against wall outside door. Wasn't expecting much for last minute price, but didn't expect parts of room to be missing!

Great Location. Everything else was a dissappointment, except the bed which was clean.The hotel is tatty throughout and needs a total refurbThe overall cleanliness is much to be desired and a good spring clean would be welcome. Everthing is tatty or dirty. We were on the top floor with an electric loo in the bathroom. The smell which comes up through […] the wash basin and bath was overpowering. Although the hotel is advertised with tea nd coffee making facilities, they fail to say that these are in the basement (not in the room) and for us it was 4 floors down.Would we stay again? 100% NO. The hotel in general is in poor condition with threadbare carpets on stairs, paintwork in bad condition throughout. Hotel services are NIL. The room was in similar condition althoughbthe bed linen was spotless. The bathroom had an overbearing awful smell due to the electric toilet. No plug in the bath, hot water took 5 mins to arrive. Bed was comfortable enough considering that I was attending a wedding and all I needed was a place to crash at the end of the night. Easy enough to get back onto the M1 at the end of the stay which was a bonus! Baker street tube station around the corner and only 30 minutes walk from Hyde Park for the wedding I needed to attend. A member of staff even […] moved their car so that I could have the free parking at the front of the hotel on the weekend rather than being parked around the corner. Good value for money for sobering up. Could not be bothered with getting the continental breakfast so cannot comment on the food. Bathroom was small and the water cold ... maybe I should have run the water longer than 2 minutes! However staff were very, very helpful but don't expect them to be wearing a shirt and tie! The room we had was on main floor, and was very noisy. The bathroom had a door leading to the outside, which had a huge gap under the door and cold air was flooding through and made the bathroom VERY drafty. Additionally, we could not turn the heat on or off, even though there were heaters in the room. They were controlled externally and kept the room […] hot during the day and cold at night. It's a dungeon.they gave me a room on third floor and there are no lifts but steep stairs.Dont plan this place with heavy luggage or you will end up with sprained back.Location is the advantage.

See all the previous reviews .... accurate. Booked very last minute under pressure and once booked looked up reviews, therefore got what we expected. More of a backpackers place but not backpacking price.

Very good location with lots of attractions and shops nearby. The room, 312, is the Harry Potter room in between two floors in the middle of a staircase. If taller than 170cm ask for another or bed will be too short. Same advice if you are more than 80kg. However it was clean! And quiet which is scarce in London:)

A lot of reviews of this hotel make valid points about it's standard of décor. But really, what do you expect for such a low price. One of the cheapest hotels in central London, and seemingly the cheapest that includes a modest breakfast the hotel perfectly fulfilled my needs. Whilst it wasn't finished to a particularly high standard everything worked […] and that's not always the case with much swankier hotels. If you're looking for a place to spend a romantic weekend this might not be it but if, like me, you're looking for somewhere quiet and super convenient to lay your head, that isn't going to drain all your funds then you could do a lot worse than here. Location is fantastic- easyjet bus from Luton and Stansted pulls up right outside and it's 2 mins from tube station. I regards to all of the comments I read about the quality of the rooms etc before booking, most of them are true, although I did find the staff to be particularly helpful. No, they don't man the desk all the time but they do always answer […] the phone from reception and assist you immediately, Let's face it- accommodation in London is expensive and I don't think you'll ever get value for money. I personally liked this hotel. I found this hotel comfortable, nothing special, but nothing special was required. It was perfect for the location I desired, and a comfortable sleep. I found my bedroom endearing and it was perfect for my one night stay in London. In a word Awful. The room was a dump and was dirty to boot. There were no plugs in the cupboard that was supposed to be a bathroom and there was also no shower curtain and it certainly couldn't be classed as a wet room. The toilet seat was broken through on one side and the pan itself was filthy. I was so gobsmacked that they have the front to charge […] for this room I took photo's. This hotel has been the biggest mistake traveling, they were asking the same rate per night that I will pay for night in a 4 start hotel in a big city in USA. The hotel is far away of everything, the only good point is that it is close to one of the metro stations. But, entering to the hotel nobody was on the reception, if you want to have assistance […] you need to make a phone call and the staff was not friendly at all. Finally once somebody came, they took my luggage to the fourth floor, no elevators of course!!!, but nobody helped me when I was leaving, I needed to take my luggage by myself four floors down stairs!!!! The carpet was old and broken, the room was worse than a student dorm. First of all, the room was so dirty, the carpet was not clean, the bed linen was with some stains and the bed by itself was not comfortable!!! The WC did not work, they have only cold water so you need to take a cold shower and the heater was not working in the room, even it was cold outside!!! At night you can hear everything in other rooms. The room DID NOT have TV, toiletries, anything, it was just a bed!!! They offered "free breakfast buffet" and it consisted of the cheapest cereal and a cup of coffee. If you have problems in the room, NOBODY helps you and for the check-out you need to call somebody in the reception that in a bad way will tell you just leave the key and go. I was not able to change to another hotel or even complain since I was traveling alone. Check out time is 10 am!! Mehr

I would have changed hotels immediately, expect for the fact that the lobby was filled with people who had tried unsuccessfuklly to get rooms elsewhere. There was no heat most of the time, and I had to stuff my laundry into the gaping hole between the window and the window-sill to keep the cold wind out. Helt ok, trots obekväma sängar, trasig dusch, ingen sängbelysning usel frukost och lyhört. Vi betalade nästan ingenting för rummet så då må det vara förlåtet.

c'est bien domage d'avoir un tel emplacement et d'en faire un hotel aussi ...nul . une seule personne qui fait tout ... une chambre avec des plafond a 4 metres et dans un coin un rectangle avec une "salle de bain" avec un plafond de 2.2 m avec sanibroyeur et sans ventilation ... la chambre donne sur la rue ...on a l'impression que le bus passe a coté […] du lit !!! le seul point positif c'est la propreté , ah j'oublie le petit déjeuné ...et le café lyophilisé et la motte de beurre sur la table ou tout le monde se sert ...hi hi hi ...et juste des toast...rien d'autre .... jamais vu depuis les années 90 . Rum med lutande golv både hit och dit, städningen bestod av att halvt lägga ihop täckena i sängen. Ingen annan städning under fyra nätters vistelse. Imgen som syntes iallafall.Inget varmvatten, fick lösas genom att spola i tre kranar och då kom varmvattnet. Frukosten var väldigt spartansk.

J'avais lu beaucoup d'avis négatifs sur cet hôtel. Mais sincèrement à 92 euros la nuit, judicieusement placé pour se déplacer (3 min du métro Baker Street, face à l'arrêt de bus pour aller à l'aéroport de Standstead) c'est une super affaire. Je recommande comme bon plan hébergement pour un week-end visite à Londres (pas grand chose autour de l'hôtel […] mais avec la "One Day Travel Card" se déplacer dans Londres n'est pas ruineux). Depuis Baker Street vous accédez très rapidement à ts les points à voir à Londres. Ce que vous économisez sur l'hôtel vous pouvez le dépenser ailleurs. Mehr

Betjeningen var hyggelige, imøtekommende og unge, kanskje studenter med en bijobb. Resepsjonen var aldri betjent og man måtte benytte ringeklokken på disken. Det kunne gå opptil 5 minutter før resepsjonisten dukket opp. Hotellet bærer preg av minimalt vedlikehold. Innvisteringene er prioritert brannsikrings tiltak og ikke generelt vedlikehold. Rommene […] var rene, men bar preg av slittasje. Rommet mitt som lå i fjerde etasje, manglet låsbeslag i dørrammen og kunne lett brytes opp med et lite spark. Gulvet i korridoren skrånet kraftig, så på den ene siden svevet døren ca 5 cm over terskelen. Det ble litt trekkfult ila natten, men et håndkle i sprekken hjalp godt. Badet manglet speil, men det ble montert etter to dager. Dosetet var helt løst, så jeg måtte balansere på ramma i den ellers trange plassen på badet. Det var kaldt mens vi var i London og sentralfyren virket som den levde sitt eget liv. Den var stort sett skrudd av om dagen, men kom tilfeldig på om kvelden eller natten. Heldigvis var den stort sett på om morgenen, ellers hadde det vært en kald fornøyelse å dusje om morgenen. Rommet i fjerde etasje er sikkert fint om sommeren, men ikke å anbefale om vinteren, da det ble fort nedkjølt. Men Somerset Hotel har en fantastisk beliggenhet, og kanskje man ikke kan forvente bedre mht pris? Mehr
