The Park Grand London Paddington - London

Rezeption bei Ankunft ratlos, mussten erstmal 10 Minuten warten, bevor wir Zimmer zugewiesen bekamen. Zimmer war sauber. Aber Fernbedienung zum TV fehlte und Minibar war leer. Für den Preis suboptimal.. ...aber wie gesagt sauber.

For the price, this is a great hotel in a great location. Rooms are not huge, but they use the space really well (much better than most hotels in this area and price range). They are clean and decorated well: modern and minamalist. The only BUT is that several rooms, including mine - Rm232- open onto a massive generator that turns on for about 5 minutes […] every hour starting at 5am until I left for the day. You can imagine my surprise when I was woken up by what sounded like jetplane landing in my room. The hotel simply should not rent these rooms out or at least warn the occupants. There is no way anyone can sleep through that. So in a nutshell, great hotel, but make sure you're nowhere near the generator! Mehr

Stayed one night here (a Saturday) and were very pleased with the room, location and service. Hotel has excellent decor and rooms are smart, modern and clean. Our room was on the basement level, which was a little daunting when we checked in, but it was fine, with natural light but no view. Intermittent air conditioning/extraction noise was apparent […] but not intrusive. Breakfast is really expensive, but there are plenty of cafes around the area offering something for a quarter of the price. Definitely recommend this. Mehr

I travel into paddington every other week - and have stayed in some very poor hotels. This time I ventured a little further from the station - maybe 6 minutes walk - the advantage being that it was an awful lot quieter. The Park Grand is a lot more comfortable and I was a little concerned that some of the reviews on the site were a little negative. […] (I had paid quite a lot for the room) As often it is the room size. No problems here - nice shower etc - not just something converted from a wardrobe. Breakfast was good and not in a sweaty basement either. So I might start using here more often - I just have to overcome the fact that I have to pay more for the better quality. Mehr

We checked in early which the hotel did not have a problem with. The rooms were very comfy and the bathroom/showroom was very modern and amazing! Our stay here was incredible and we would definitely stay here again!

The first night that I arrived, they told me they were having issues with my room and put me at a hotel down the street. This wouldn't have been an issue, but they put me in a tindy dingy room in the basement, where the heat and shower didn't properly work. They tried to get me to stay there for my entire stay, but I protested and they finally gave […] me the room that I had originally purchased. I tried to contact the manager on 3 times about my room on the first night and s/he will not get back to me to resolve the matter. I think that if you ordered a pizza that you should get what you ordered, not half of one so I don't know why it would be any different with a hotel room. I tried to contact the manager and they will not get back to me. Now the room that I finally got (which I had purchased) was nice. The shower was luke warm though. Service was so-so. I had to really complain to get the room I had ordered. Mehr

Hotel-is very clean and functional. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable- this is a plus. The downside is there is a shower only and bathrooms very small-although have underfloor heating-so at least warm. overall I will stay again.

I booked the hotel for its proximity to Paddington and a level of comfort I would be satisfied with for a very short stay. I checked reviews from recent guest prior to booking the room and so was expecting it to be relatively small and of reasonable comfort for 4*. The hotel is approximately 5 minutes walk from Paddington Mainline Station and as it's […] not on a main road, it's not hindered by noise from traffic and passers by. The check in was quick and the receptionist polite, immediately offering me an upgrade on arrival to a Junior Suite. The room was reasonably sized, recently refurbished to a good standard and I was particularly impressed with the bathroom facilities (design / quality / temperature of water and water pressure). My only negative comment is that the room was cold and took hours to heat up. Overall I was very impressed with the hotel and would happily stay there again. Mehr

A great location, but the rooms are very small, I mean very small. The bathroom was just not usable, I had to go downstairs to really use the bathroom, the shower was 2 feet by 2 feet, don't drop the soap. The desk folded out of the wall, there was no room for a chair so you had to stand, zero working area, not good for business. The internet was free, […] but hardley a signal. You can do much better than this location. The staff was not helpful and down right rude. We needed an extra hour on the checkout and they charged us 10 pounds per room for each hour we requested. Small rooms, much like most London hotels, but they have done some renovating, which makes it much nicer than most hotels in this area and in this price range. I stay in London a lot for work and for our budget, i am normally very disappointed with the hotels i stay in. I will definitely stay here again.

We spent a week, and found the room WAY too small for our two suitcase luggage. The closet is a joke if you can even call it a closet. The high speed internet works perfectly and the appearance of the remodelled rooms with wood paneling and indirect lighting was attractive. The hotel should use double pane windows for soundproofing because street noise […] on the second floor facing the street is very distracting. The bathroom is so very small that it is uninviting. Showers are only half inclosed with a sort of glass wall and so after a shower the whole bathroom floor is wet. The maid service is good and they clean it every day. The air conditioning is also quite effective, which was needed in early November. Mehr

The room I got was below street level, and fealt a bit like a dungeon. OK for a 2 star hotel, not OK for a 4 star. It was noisy - during the day workers using powertools (sounded like cutting metal), during the night rattling from the A/C vent. The staff was always very polite, but not very effective in making my stay enjoyable. What really ticked me […] off was that after my second night there, they decided to move me to a better room. They forgot to tell me, so when I came back to the hotel (third evening there) I was surprised to find all my stuff, including the contents of the in-room safe, spread out on the bed of the new room. What's the point of having a safe? I would not go back to this hotel. Mehr

Our stay at the Park Grand was wonderful. The hotel was clean and well decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location - great places to eat nearby, easy access to transportation, and an easy to walk to everything we wanted to do in London - I would go back in a second.

Ett riktigt bra hotel, bra service med bra frukost och jättefina rum, även om de är små. Sköna sängar, men hårda kuddar, som på alla ställen. Kan rekomenderas varmt!

This hotel was nicely renovated, and has a great location. Service is a little stiff, though, and there was a lot of shrugging when it came to compensation or even errors. Two things prevented our stay from being flawless: 1) The room we were given had a loud buzzing sound from an electrical box in the ceiling by the door. We changed rooms to a smaller […] one, which was fine but we could get no money back. "We can't do anything about that. Sorry." 2) Even though we pre-booked breakfast, which was a few pounds cheaper than the drop-in price, this did not transfer to the final bill when we checked out. When we protested and said that we indeed had pre-booked we got the same response "I can't do anything about that, sorry." I realize they didn't have proof, but in these cases the customer is always right. Yes it was a small sum to complain about, but that's beside the point. A good service hotel would have said "no problem, we probably made a mistake, I'll cancel this invoice and write up a new one." This gives a hotel happy and returning customers, rather than annoyed and perhaps not returning customers. Other than that, it was a perfectly fine hotel experience. Nothing wrong with the hotel at all, but the staff needs training. Mehr

Bra hotell med små men effektiva rum. Rent, nyrenoverat och läget är bra (nära Paddington)

Bra och stort rum för tre personer, nära till komunikationer och lugna kvarter.

Hotellet var otroligt fräscht med fina rum, rent och fint med modernare inredning. Tyst och lugnt område. Nära till Paddingtons tunnelbana och bra med småbutiker i närheten för köp av t ex vatten. Vänlig och professionell personal. Kan varmt rekommenderas!

Bra hotell. Fanns en liten club lounge som man kunde låna för privata möten. Rummet var litet men modernt inrett med alla bekvämligheter, dock ingen minibar på rummet. Frukost helt ok.
