The City Hotel Derry - Londonderry

The rooms are large but boring. The hotel restaurant food is very forgettable. The staff seems annoyed at your presence.

Overall very enjoyable - will be back

GREAT LOCATION AND PRICE GREAT CITY TO VISIT

My husband's family lives in Derry, and we stay in the City Hotel when we visit. I can't think of anything negative to say. It is definitely worthwhile to pay for breakfast with your room because their breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff is friendly, and the location of the hotel is great for walking around Derry. If you like a morning walk as […] we do, there is a footpath around the river right outside the hotel. Our room had an incredible view of the River Foyle and the new Peace Bridge. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Although the hotel hosts parties on the weekends, the rooms are still quiet. What more could you ask for? I would also like to add that Derry is an amazing city to visit. It is inexpensive compared to most of Ireland (taxis are very cheap), and the city is beautiful and friendly.The murals are amazing and a must-see. Don't forget your high-wind resistant umbrella! Once again we had a wonderful weekdebd away at the City Hotel. This visit we had a more basic room and it didnt make the stay less enjoyable. We didnt get the car parked in the hotel car park this visit, which was the only down side to the stay, as we were worried about it sitting out all night in an open car park. We stayed at City Hotel Derry for only 1 night on a 10 day drive around Ireland. Great location next to the river, with free undercover parking and friendly staff. Beautiful location by the river and close to all the major downtown sights. Easy access by car and free parking. The restaurant is great and the deal for two people is unequaled anywhere!

The location of this hotel is perfect .The room is large and it is quiet.One problem- this hotel does not seem to have an HVAC system of any kind and the windows open only a crack .The result was in October the room was sweltering.The hotel seems to know it has a problem because it provides a large free standing fan - thank God ! Although the hotel is easy to find, the car parking facilities are abysmal. One of the bath handrails came off when pulled , a potentially dangerous situation.

This hotel was good in some respects but bad in others. Near city walls and beside River Foyle. Good leisure facilities. However, room I was in was very hot and air-conditioning didnt go cooler than 19 degrees. Also shower head was broken and it was very noisy with a wedding going on downstairs. the hotel is in a great location close to everything but there is a limited number of parking spots and you have to pay. if no spot is available. the lot ajdacent to the hotel closes at a certain time and you cannot retrieve your car and will be charged an overnight rate.....this was a problem........

I have stayed in this hotel a good number of times at various times of the year and thankfully every stay has been pleasent and enjoyable. Staff are friendly and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location.

Really lovely hotel right on the edge of the Foyle and only a few steps to the city centre. Very enjoyable experience. Best to park in the pay and display zone along the quayside as car parks in the vicinity of the hotel are very expensive. Very modern hotel, professional staff, great spot for a couple of days in L'derry.

Derry is a city where alcohol is worshipped. Arrive at your hotel to find the entire ground floor heaving with people drinking and a band that is playing ten times louder than anyone can scientifically hear - all conversation at the Reception desk is SHOUTED and is still inaudible... However, hotels need to make money and providing a band and drink […] and an occasion is the way it is in Derry. Like it or lump it. At other times, the hotel is very nice, beautifully situated although parking is a problem. Mehr

The hotel was in a great location only a few minutes walk to the city centre. Food was good and the gym and pool were a great bonus, both well ran with lots of equipment.

The hotel is located in an excellent location with parking near by , as the hotel carpark always semms to be full. The receptionist was friendly and wecloming , offering directions to a local restuarant .the rooms were clean and modern.

Goed, groot en modern hotel, efficient. Winkelcentra en busstation om de hoek. Ruime, moderne kamers en prima Iers/Engels ontbijtbuffet.
