Hotel Ste-Catherine - Montreal

All things considered, the hotel was located perfectly for our needs. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was a very small accomodation but we weren't there to spend our time in the hotel room. It is what it is; it was very reasonable, clean and served our needs.

Not a bad hotel for the price. No complaints about the room or management. It is in the heart of the gay district but close to Ol Montreal which is where the sites and culture of the city are.

All in all, the service was good and the room clean and well laid out. The staff was very helpful with directions to different places and suggestions on transportation. The location of the hotel itself while central to the downtown area, was a litte uncomfortable for me (personal reasons). The room was very clean. The staff was really nice. The location was good if you want to stay in the heart of the gay district.

I couldn't write my exact experience because of censorship on this site. Be careful if you stay in this area, the hotel is good but there are a lot of suspicious characters walking around who will try to sneak into the hotel if your not aware. Always keep an eye on what's going on around you.

It was a very low end hotel. Met the budget needs for this trip. But would probably look for another place the next time.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, but not ready when we got there. The hotel is very hard to find, it was a door among other doors. You need to go behind the motel for parking which is out of the way and only holds a few cars. The hotel looks a little run down. It did not have an elevator and the stairs which were on the outside were a bit trecherous for taking a suitcase up them. But all in all it had what we were looking for- breakfast in the morning (coffee, orange juice and bagels), a clean room and a central location.

I have rented cheaper hotels in montreal before and this was the worse one i have ever stayed in And when they say they have airconditioning its an outright joke. The ac vents into the room and actually makes it hotter.

The room was not big enough for two people and two suit cases. A stand alone air conditioner was on the dresser. It was vented into the bathroom. The room was 88 degrees and the bathroom was over 100 degrees. It was unbearable. No windows, no ventilation. My boyfriend and I and a friend of ours stayed in a room with 2 double beds and it was perfect for us. It was clean and they did room service every day with plenty of clean towels. It is right on St. Catherine in the lower part of the gay village of Montreal. Strip clubs, bars, sauna's, and great eateries all within steps of the hotel. They were very […] smart to put double windows in so you don't hear the street noise as it's a very active part of town at all hours. They didn't mention that they offered parking, but they gave me a secure place for $8/night (which is good seeing how I'm from the NYC area were parking is a premium) Call ahead, because it's a small lot with limited space in an alley behind the hotel.... but with cameras and a gate. MY ONLY CRITICISM: If you come back to the hotel late at night and ring the bell to be buzzed up.... don't expect them to come quickly. I think the night clerk sleeps in an adjacent room to the office and cannot always hear the door bell if you ring. You may need to call the phone number on your cell to wake him up. That said,... I'm glad you need to be buzzed in.. that way you know only authorized people are in the building.... we hope. All that said... I would certainly stay there again. Unless I hit the lottery! Mehr

The Ste Catherine is a bare bones establishment. You will not find an elevator, pool or massage table. What you will find is a clean hotel run by knowledgeable and friendly staff. The hotel was reasonably priced. The hotel is in a great area for shopping, restaurants and music venues.

Situé à côté du "village", cet hôtel satisfera selon moi des jeunes voyageurs qui cherchent des hôtels bon marché. Le personnel est très sympathique. Je conseille d'avoir des bases en anglais. Les chambres sont petites et c'est pas forcément la grande classe, mais si l'on cherche seulement un endroit où dormir, c'est parfait. Le petit-déjeuner est offert […] en plus. Ma copine et moi y avons séjourné trois jours, nous ne sommes pas déçus. Petit bémol si on s'amène à l'hôtel avec des grosses valises : pour accéder à l'accueil et aux chambres, il faut passer par un escalier étroit, et c'est lourd ! Mais bon... :) Mehr

Bon accueil bilingue 24/24. Hotel simple mais propre et calme. Tres bien situe proche metros et bus. Dans principale rue commercante pietonne en cette periode.
