Das Hotel Stay Centre Ville ist in unmittelbarer Nähe der Station "Berri-Uquam" gelegen, unweit des Fernbus-Bahnhofs. Es liegt inmitten des Ausgeh-Viertels Quartier Latin, mit zahlreichen günstigen und guten Restaurants. Das Hotel bietet ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Vor allem das saubere, bequeme Zimmer mit eigenem Duschbad ist in der Preislage […] und Stadtlage m.E. kaum zu toppen. Ich habe einige Zeit gesucht! Der Standard ist einfach, aber gepflegt. Es gibt ein Frühstück, das jedoch SEHR einfach ist. Es wird in einem sehr kleinen, fensterlosen Raum als Buffet angeboten. Kleine Zimmer, für kurzen Aufenthalt sehr geeignet

Das Hotel ist ein kleines Unternehmen. Die Zimmer befinden sich im guten Zustand. Das Personal ist nett und hilfsbereit. Das beste ist die Lage: das Hotel befindet sich in einem Viertel, in dem viele Homosexuelle wohnen, was interessant ist, aber nicht stört. Das Hotel ist also 2 Schritte von der Straße, auf der sich sehr viele Gaststätten, Bars und […] Discos befinden. Nach Downtown braucht man ca. 15min zu Fuß, nach Chinatown ca. 10min und in die Altstadt ca. 20min. Die U-Bahnanbindung ist auch sehr nah. Das schlechte am Hotel: die Zimmer sind sehr klein, gerade mit mehr Gepäck kann es schon etwas eng sein. Außerdem gibt es keinen Fahrstuhl und die Treppen sind sehr steil. (wobei die Mitarbeiter das Gepäck auf Nachfrage auch sicher nach oben befördern) Das Frühstück kann man (nach deutschem Geschmack) vergessen, da es quasi Süßigkeiten und Minihörnchen gibt. Allerdings ist der Kaffeeautomat hier positiv zu erwähnen. Was manchen noch negativ auffallen könnte ist die Gegend, da hier doch einige Obdachlose, Bettler und sonstige Gestalten herumlaufen. Allerdings hat uns dies nicht gestört (bzw. sie uns nicht). Die Polizeipräsenz ist auch sehr hoch, so dass wir uns immer sicher fühlten. (Der Eingang des Hotels hat außerdem ein Nummernschloss) Das Hotel hat keinen eigenen Hotelparkplatz, parken im Parkhaus kostet $20 für 24 Stunden. (Das zahlt man aber tw auch bei hoteleigenen Parken in der Innenstadt) Insgesamt überwiegen die Lage und der Preis klar die (für uns) geringen Nachteile. Mehr

Das Hotel lockt mit studentenfreundlichen Preisen. Die Gegend, in der das Hotel liegt, ist zwar optisch nicht die beste, wir haben uns allerdings zu keiner Zeit unsicher gefühlt. Zu Fuß kann man mit einem kleinen Marsch sowohl gut den Hafen als auch die Innenstadt erreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr klein (immerhin mit Kühlschrank) aber für den Preis insgesamt angemessen. Lediglich die Dusche war bei unserer Ankunft nicht ausreichend gesäubert worden. Das kleine Frühstücksbuffet wird im ersten Stock in einem winzig kleinen Raum angeboten (Croissants, Muffins, Kuchen, Obst, Joghurt, Kaffeeautomat), in dem maximal drei Personen gleichzeitig Platz haben. Dafür ist es gratis. Für uns war es allerdings vollkommen ausreichend. Zur Not sollte man das Frühstück auf dem Zimmer einnehmen. Die Wände zwischen den Zimmern sind nicht besonders dick, was dazu führte, dass wir am zweiten Tag von einem herrenlosen Wecker im Nachbarzimmer geweckt wurden. Insgesamt kann man sagen, dass Preis / Leistung in einem guten Verhältnis stehen. Wer es allerdings etwas bequemer haben möchte, sollte hier nicht unterkommen Mehr

Friendly people, nice room, good area for exploring MTL. On hot summer days you'll miss A/C. Perfect for a 2*stay and the fairest price you can pay. But you should think about a larger room for breakfast with more than one table, guys ;-)

My husband and I stayed here for about a week and I am so glad we did. The price was right. The owners were friendly and helpful - couldn't have asked for better hosts. Just a few feet from the metro, which will get you about anywhere. The hotel felt safe and clean, I liked that it had only 12 (or 13?) rooms and that the front door stays locked at all […] times. A few "head's up"s: 1. Be sure to bring your own shampoo/etc. There was a re-fillable container in our shower, but it stayed empty. The only "toiletry" provided is handsoap. 2. If you like having a bit more space, spend the extra couple dollars for a large room - they have plenty of room - including a chair, table, closet, dresser. 3. The road that the hotel is on isn't a quiet road. I found it a little hard to relax with the window open because of the street noise. But, with the window closed, it got a bit stuffy... This is just a personal preference, I love to be in quiet, peaceful locations... it doesn't really have anything to do with the quality of the hotel, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Montreal, but it is good to know before you go. Clean and convenient; single negative is no elevator (DO NOT stay in rooms 7 and above. way too many stairs & no phone in the room. Great price. Breakfast is served too late - starts at 8:00, should start at 7:00.

This is exactly what you pay for. Cheap, quiet, comfortable. Nothing elaborate. No elevator. Lots of stairs. 50 steps to the Metro. The front door opens with a code. Check your code before you go out. I didn't and I almost didn't get in late at night. As a guy travelling alone. This is the place.

Great Place to stay! The owners are very friendly and help this out-of-towner find her way around. They made sure all of my questions were answered and anything I needed was taken care of. I can't say enough about my stay at Hotel Stay.

It was just as described and conveniently located. The staff was so great and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We did have to open window and balcony door because it was warm at night and there was no air in the room. Also, you will need to bring your own washcloths as they only have bath towels and hand towels upon request. Excellent hotel. Clean, very close to Bus Station, Metro, Restaurants, Shops, Grocery Store & walking distance to clubs!!! We loved absolutely everything about this hotel with the exception of the bed (which was not the firmest & slanted towards the centre) and the pillows (which were too soft). This Hotel was an excellent value. The Staff is wonderful.Rooms are updated and clean. The location is very convenient for any downtown tourist or traveler.

The good: - Very convenient location, especially when you arrive by bus (like I did). It's about a five minute walk from and to the nearest subway station. The location is pretty good, close to everything in downtown, the hotel is in good conditions, very clean, freindly staff, there is couple downs in this hotel which is the parking is pretty expensive, it costs $25 per day, and the other issue you can hear a very loud noise of the water running in the pipes when somebody takes a shower in any of the […] rooms next to you, or above you, overall it was worth the value and the fact that I stayed two nights only. I stayed here for four nights. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a good location to see the sights as well. I would definitely stay there again. The quality for the price was very good.

Do not trust your things with these people and take nothing of value as there is no safe in the rooms. I accidentally left a bag with glasses, an electric shaver and a few other non-expensive items. They said they had it, would send it to me and email me afterwards. Never happened. Its been 4 weeks now and every time I call it either goes to voicemail, […] they say to call back tomorrow or they simply leave me on hold until the call drops, only to not answer when I call back immediately after. I was in Montreal on a business trip and stayed there for two nights. The hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area, walking distance from the metro and central bus station. The rooms were clean and stylishly decorated. The hotel had more of an European than an American feel, which added to the charm. Bed was a bit firm, but a great place to stay

This hotel was perfect for us! We are a young couple with a kid on a bit of a budget. This place made Montreal an affordable option for vacation and it was worth it. It's right next to public transportation. Montreal is a pretty small city and we are big walkers and could walk to downtown, the old city, and surrounding neighborhoods quite easily. Hotel Stay Centre Ville is a very nice, comfortabe, and clean place. My wife and I stayed here 2 nights. The rooms are clean, small and simple. We had a small fridge, a bathroom, and a television, which were all nice perks, especially the private bathroom. The bad: the breakfast isn't great, very bread-y, the mattress was on the hard side and the fitted sheet didn't want to stay on. The location is close to greyhound bus and main metro station however, the neighborhood is not safe.The hotel has its door locked at all times and you are given a code to get in. A local told me I was crazy for staying in that neighborhood. the room was clean but the shower drain had trouble draining. I didnt feel secure in the area. I wont stay in […] this area again. Mehr

its my second time in Montreal and my first stay in a 5 star hotel was great but this hotel is as great for the reason of affordable rate, convenience of location, access to the metro, restaurants and a whole lot more... its at the gay village where i spend most of my time partying. the next time i'll book my hotel, it'll be the same one.

Nice room, very well appointed for the price. Service could be better. When I asked the maid to have a bathroom lamp replaced, it was never done.

Convenient location for our Montreal experience. Room was very clean and people at the desk were very helpful when they were there. Parking was secure and was located a couple blocks away (at $20 per 24 hours). We found no need to touch the car until we left the city. Our only problem was a smoke detector that beeped much of the night and from our first […] attempt at 8:30p to get help silencing it, to our fourth attempt about midnight, we could get no answer to our ringing of the bell at the desk (we could find no way to reach the high ceiling for a personal attempt to dismantle it.) The tiny breakfast room had two bistro tables with a total of four chairs; if they were filled you could take your breakfast back to your room, and sit on the bed for your meal. Unless you are totally self-sufficient this is not the hotel for you. The exterior of the hotel looks suspect but the rooms inside are pretty good. The main drawback is that there is hardly ever anyone at the desk for service.

It was close to downtown, average hotel. Bring your own soap/shampoo stuff. No tel. in room, parking is free overnite on street, but got to move by 0700. There are many side street parking also. Staff should know english, it helps for non-french. Restaurants are around, so I would stay there again if I had to be near downtown. Simple but the price is […] right as compared to the big names. Staff not very friendly or helpful - Continental breakfast was fine, however 3 baskets of different sweets is a bit much...how about 1 basket of sweets and having a small toaster and a loaf of bread?

This hotel might not be right for everyone (just stairs, no elevator; the rooms are small but nice), but if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay that's well-kept and in a great location, Hotel Stay Centre Ville is great. And the owners are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Right by the university and the Quartier Latin, this is a very nice place to stay. The room was very clean and modernly decorated. The bathroom was picture perfect and the staff were nice and friendly. The free breakfast included cereal, croissants coffee, yogurt, juice and fruit. Staying at Hotel Stay Centre Ville was just perfect. It was like staying at your Uncle's house...there's a beautiful clean room with clean nice linens, he leaves you with a key to the house, access to the internet, and use of the phone, and leaves a delicious breakfast out for you, then gets out of the way. While some people may not like having to carry […] their luggage up a steep flight of stairs, or wish the hotel had more services (like a pool or gym) I thought it was perfect! The rooms were very beautiful, especially the bathrooms, and David and Giovanny were very nice and helpful. The location can't be beat...1/2 a block from the metro station, right next to a grocery store and more, and very close to the airport shuttle bus. And to top it off, it was 2-3 times less than what my other friends were paying to attend the same conference. I will definitely recommend this place to whoever is going to Montreal in the future! The hotel is virutally just round the corner of the metro station, Barri Quam, which is just 2 stops from downtown and within walking distance to the old Montreal. The room is very small but cosy. Breakfast is simple but should be appreciated when we think of the cheap room rate charged.

There was no elevator, so it was hard to lug my luggage up the stairs. I found the host to be very kind and helpful, though, and the room was tidy and comfortable. It was very good for being a lower price than most other places.

I was worried that for the very cheap price, we'd have a terrible stay, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean and everything looked new. Quaint little hotel in the heart of Motreal. The rooms are small, but very clean. The decor is darling! We were within walking distance of so many things! Perfect for travelers who want to be out and about. Your hotel room is just for sleeping, who needs all those extra things anyway:o) Would stay there again in a heart beat!!
