Hector is the "manager", speaks English and went out of his way to accommodate me. Andres and his wife, Andrea, are the "staff". Extremely nice people, ready to cook, clean, whatever it took to make me comfortable. I had a really nice, relaxing time at this little complex. It's only 5 years old and immaculate.

The hotel was great, even better then I expected. Our room was directly in front of the beach and we could hear the waves crashing all night long. Staff was great and very accomodating. I highly recommend this hotel especially if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the big resorts.

As the name of the hotel suggest...it's a barefoot beach pad. Don't look for fancy check-in area, any toiletries other than soap, any HD TV's, and extravagant drinks. I travel alot around the world and have stayed in many hotels, I just wanted a hotel that was not expensive and just for a short break, I liked this hotel it was quite, simple and clean, the staff where very helpful....they have good security at night, breakfast was simple but it was on the house.. Barefoot Beach Pad was everything we wanted in a beach vacation. It was a great room overlooking a beautiful beach, with A/C, a fan, cable tv, a kitchen, a pool and a bar right outside. We were not looking for an all-inclusive resort, but rather a more intimate and comfortable setup that would allow us to stay in and enjoy dinner on the balcony, or […] venture out to the town for food and dancing. Hector was awesome and told us all the best things to do in the area, and Andres and his wife made sure we stayed comfortable the whole time with clean sheets, good food and cold beers. The Barefoot Beach Pad was a wonderful experience. The grounds were small but extremely well-kept. The family that took care of the cooking and cleaning and the grounds maintenance were very helpful but do not speak English. The manager, Hector, is only around in the mornings, but he is very friendly and speaks fluent English. The only thing about Barefoot […] Beach Pad is that I would not call it a "hotel". It's much more of a Bed and Breakfast. It's very intimate and it seems that there are only a couple people servicing its guests, as well as a shotgun-wielding security guard who patrols at night. Be aware that there will be NO WI-FI. However, there is a TV with multiple English channels to enjoy. The coffee is free everyday, there is a cute little bar by the pool that you can sit, eat and drink at whenever you please, with a gate only steps away that opens up to a beautiful and exclusive beach. It will seem like it is all yours! There is very little foot traffic there, especially during the week. If you plan to stay here, I would highly recommend renting a car as it is not within convenient walking distance from the main stretch of Caberete. Other than that, Barefoot Beach Pad was an extremely pleasant stay and I would definitely come back, but with friends next time. Mehr

Worst hotel ever. The bed was supposed to be a king size, but was actually really small for two people. Bedclothes smelled really bad, i think its because they didn't air the room for a few days. No gel or shampoo in the bathroom. We asked for some and the guy offered us a bar of soap. Minibar?? well, they put in our fridge a gallon of water. It was […] refilled because the bottle was originally containing juice, so not very trustable. The A\C was really noisy and old, and its impossible to sleep without it, the room becomes an oven in 30 minutes, so there's no good solution for that. For all these reasons, we left the hotel at 9 and didn't stay for breakfast, just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Very expensive for the service and facilities they offer. We wrier very disappointed because following the critics in hotels.com the place looked to be very nice but don't get fooled, its the worst hotel we've never been before. Mehr

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at Barefoot and absolutely loved it. It's a little off the beaten bath of the chaos of downtown Cabarete, but only a short taxi ride into town ($2-$6). Hector the owner really transforms the hotel into more of a bed and breakfast type feeling by personally greeting you at the gate. He knew my name before I could even […] introduce myself! He showed us around the hotel and then took the time to explain our local surroundings and what to expect. He let us know what we could expect to pay for taxi services so we weren't taken advantage of as tourists, and also made several recommendations for restaurants and night life in town. The beach outside the restaurant was completely empty of other tourists and so beautiful and peaceful. Aside from the amazing customer service the hotel was immaculately clean and very comfortable. It was true simple living which matches the Dominican lifestyle. Even being a little bit outside of town we felt safe at all times with a groundskeeper on site at all times and added security at night. We plan on returning to Cabarete early next year and definitely plan on returning to see Hector and stay at the Barefoot again! Mehr

The views from ocean front suite balcony are great, but other then that this hotel doesnt have much. Its at least 20 - 30 minutes to the nearest airport, the hotel doesnt really have a restaurant, the beds feel like rocks, the staff consists of 1 guy and his wife. My sister is a flight attendant so we went for a quick 3 night stay. We just emailed Hector and he set up a $25 shuttle for us. We went horseback riding... sat by the pool and swam in the ocean. We ate our meals at the hotel as we were too lazy to venture out (next time!). We will be going back!

The view was amazing just feet away from the beach entrance that was great.The Genaral staff where great a wonderful couple. But the manager is the rudest man I have ever met and beacause of his rudest we checked out earlier than planned. Our next trip to DR we will be using another surrounding hotel.

It was better than I expected. I was greeted by Hector after I was able to find the bell to have someone open the gate. (I took a taxi to get there, but Hector would have picked me up at the airport for less money had I known about that service.) He was very friendly and was quite helpful in attending to our comfort. The room was lovely and very comfortable. […] The pool area was beautiful and there was a covered bar and food area adjacent. There was easy access to the beach as it was just steps from the pool area. Everyone who worked there was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was located just outside of town. It was more relaxing for me being away from the noise and people of the town. However it was possible to walk to town or Hector was willing to drive us to town. Taxis or motorbikes were easily available to return us to the hotel at a very reasonable cost. It was fun to go to town, but I spent most of my time enjoying the peace and beautiful scenery of the hotel. Even though we had to vacate our room at noon, we were allowed to use the pool area and food service until our time to leave at 4:00. When it was time to leave, Hector took us to the Marina about 50 minutes away at a very reasonable cost. His willingness to help us out was exceptional. I was just there for one night before I joined a group for a week on the Silver Bank. It was a terrific experience and I will return to this hotel when I visit the Puerto Plata area again. Mehr

The location and hotel were great, but the people made it even better! The personalized service was outstanding. It's a short ride to the restaurants, bars and nightclubs. It's safe, nothing to worry about. We're definitely going back with the family! Really recommend this small beach pad. Overall my husband and I were satisfied!

This place is a gem. If you're looking for a quiet, laid back, beachfront hotel/B&B, then Barefoot Beach Pad is for you. This smaill hotel is only a few years old, the rooms are clean, simple and comfortable, and the grounds immaculately maintained. Homemade breakfast at the poolside bar every morning, beer and soda in the afternoon. Far enough away […] from town to to feel private, yet a quick scooter cab ride (or walk on the beach) to beachfront bars and resturaunts. The manager Hector (born in the Dominican, grew up and lived in the US, retired back to the Dominican...his family owns the place) was great...almost like a personal concierge. This is a simple, very clean and quiet spot. The hotel is small with just ten rooms and a pool. That means personalized and attentive service, but no luxury, no frills. One small thing: our room was very spacious, but there was no chair, dresser, or table to put stuff down. It did have a large closet and bedside tables, but could have used more 'surfaces. […] We were there at the end of August, so there was virtually no one there. I liked that we were given beach towels. The hotel is right on the beach, the surf is a little rough, but manageable if you like waves. I played for a long time in the sea, which was delicious. Only sand, no stones. Since there was no shade, we couldn't stay very long on the beach and would go back to the hotel to rinse, swim in the pool, lie down or sleep. When we were up for it, we'd take a taxi into town (Cabarete) for dinner and walked back on the beach at night. It felt very safe. We were there only for a few days, and we loved it. Mehr

Hector som äger hotellet är hjälpsam och skjutsade oss in till cabarete och visade oss alla ställen vi […] kunde ha nytta av. Hotellet är kanske inte vid första anblick så lyxigt med enkla rum, polyesterlakan och inga toalettartiklar, frukosten som ingår är rostat bröd och kaffe, MEN utsikten och omgivningen är fantastisk och man känner sig hemma på hotellet då det bara har 10 rum och det faktum att Andres fixar allt på beställning, DET ÄR LYX enligt mig! Vi är jättenöjda med hotellet på alla sätt. Detta var vår bästa semester någonsin. Fin personal, vi kände oss välmottagna och omhändertagna. Hade en "hotellig" hemkänsla. Hotellet ligger vid stranden, bara med en snygg staket mellan. Poolen är också fin och ren. Baren&restaurangen i det fria är riktigt trevlig, oceanen brusar behagligt i bakgrunden. […] Underbar strandpromenad från hotellet till Cabarete fog ca. 30 minuten. Härligt! カバレテに到着して、タクシー運転手や観光警察にホテルの場所を聞いたが、誰も知らない。警官にホテルに電話してもらい迎えに来てもらった。 道路沿いに簡単な標識があるが、奥まっており、入り口が不明。初めて来る外国人には判別できない。 ホテルは部屋数１０で、民宿レベル。従業員も２～３名。 部屋には冷蔵庫がなく、水も貰いに行く必要がある。 レストランはなく、簡単な軽食を作ってくれた。近くのレストランまで５分程歩く必要がある。 料金の割には、Hotels.com　の紹介と程遠い悪いイメージを受けた。

Magnifique hotel donnant directement sur la plage. Nous avons eu droit à un excellent accueil de la part d'Andres, le gérant, nous ne parlons pas l'espagnol et pourtant nous avons quand même pu discuter un peu avec lui car il est très gentil et serviable. Hector, le patron de l'hotel est extrêmement sympatique et ayant vécu à New-York parle anglais […] couramment! Les chambres sont incroyablement grandes, confortables, d'une grande propreté. La piscine bien entretenue, le petit-déjeuner ((Toasts et café) est offert mais vous pouvez commander ce qu'il vous plaira car la carte est assez variée et abordable. Enfin, si vous aspirez au calme et à la tranquilité, n'allez pas plus loin! L'hotel se situe à la sortie de Cabarete à l'écart des grands complexes hôteliers et il comporte 10 chambres seulement, vous croiserez donc, peu de monde. Mehr
