Security at this Hotel is very high. I enjoyed the room and the breakfast, but the neighborhood around the area is terrifying. However the hotel is very secure and the garage is located inside the hotel and its locked with steel gates so I knew my car would be safe. The location is pretty close to downtown Miami and South Beach.

I've stayed at a Spring Hill Suites once before (about a month prior to this stay), and I have to say they will likely be my go-to hotel going forward. The room is spacious, the entire hotel is clean, the service at both locations was amazing, and their included breakfast is pretty decent. (Eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles in addition to standard continental […] fare.) We had actually booked another hotel in Miami, but when we checked in there it was run-down, dirty, and totally sketchy. The Spring Hill Suites had a last minute vacancy at a great price, and was convenient to the Port of Miami. (They provide shuttle for $5/person.) It was a great choice! The only downfall was the area. We left around 9:15 to get a late dinner at a sports bar around the corner. We were stopped by a cop who immediately knew were weren't from the area and told us to go straight to dinner and back, and not to make a right onto the main street. (We were making a left to get to the sports bar.) Apparently, it's a really bad crime area. Mehr

The hotel provides a shuttle service from the airport, but the driver was so busy talking that he did not even bother to look up. The room was large and clean. The internet was free but slow. The restaurant food was fine but the service was a bit slow. Breakfast buffet was free and good. Only two blocks from the metro rail made connection to downtown easy. Good shuttle service.

Great location, 10 mins from airport and cruise terminal and 15mins to south beach, right beside all the university and other medical centres, room and hotel clean but couch on two seperate stays seemed like it had a hard life. It was in the middle of the ghetto. It was not convenient to check in since there is little parking on the street and the hotel bus was blocking the one lane drive up.

The hotel room was phenomenal and the staff was super helpful and very nice. Unfortunately the area was less then desirable. Though only 1.5 from Biscayne and the American Airlines arena the neighborhood was just bad. Which was a disapointment since I booked it hoping to be able to walk to places. This was not possible.

This is a quaint, clean hotel close to the Miami airport and the Port of Miami. We stayed here the night before our cruise. The hotel is situated in an 'iffy' neighborhood, so you probably don't want to venture out walking after dark. The toilet area was separate from the shower, which is a nice feature for families. My stay of 4 nights was very comfortable. The hotel staff was very accommodating in helping me get to and from doctor's appointments and Jackson Memorial Hospital. The restaurant is excellent although the menu is small. The self-serve breakfast was plentiful with numerous choices. I would definitely stay again.

This is a "no smoking allowed" hotel. On two separate days I reported an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, as in someone smoking at that moment. The second time the staff told me their policy was there was nothing they could do unless there smoke seen coming under a door and into the hall. Here is my issue: While there was no indication someone […] was smoking from the hallway, when I walked into my bathroom after having the door closed, I physically recoiled from the smoke it was so strong. The room was very comfortable, clean and had a nice desk area away from the sleeping area, Room also had a microwave and a fridge which was very useful. This hotel is located around the corner of two very large trauma hospitals and a Correction Facility. it is not a safe neighborhood after dark. We were on the 7th floor but close to the road. It was a bit noisy but very comfortable. I liked the free airport shuttle. The shuttle to the cruise terminal was only $10, much cheaper than a cab.

The food was terrible. The service lacking. We found hair in the tub when we checked in. The parking area was a disaster. They did not supply enough towels and the linens were cheap. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel as part of my 'yearly Mom's time-out getaway'. It was an awesome experience. The hotel is simple, but very clean and has everything in it that is needed. This hotel was very comfortable & homey: excellent service & amenities, but not too large or crowded of a facility. The room layout was not only comfortable, but efficient & tastefully decorated ( separated sitting/office area, separate toilet area, mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave) . The entire staff was always helpful & courteous. Additional amenities, […] such as the mid-priced restaurant with delicious menu, cozy gym facility, & even lemon-lime water in the lobby hallway made the stay an all-around wonderful experience. The location (comfortable walking distance & excellent shuttle service provided by the hotel ) was incredibly convenient for traveling to & from the hospital. The only negative is that, besides the places located within the nearby medical complex, there are no shops in walking distance except for Winn Dixie (quick, easy walk). However, being there for medical treatment, it was the perfect location to be ( or for someone on an overnight stay before going to the Port of Miami for a cruise, etc.) The only recommendation I had for the hotel was an upgrade of their towels: the room was spa-like, and the hotel so clean & well-run, that I expected big fluffy, soft towels and was surprised to find that they were thin, small, & not very soft. Other than that (oh, and for the free breakfast, the muffins weren't worth the calories..they were disappointing) I cannot say anything negative about this Spring Hill Marriot ... great place & staff! Only downside was that the jet engines roaring over the hotel made it hard to sleep at night. The area around the hotel isn't too nice. It's not that it's really bad or anything, it just could be nicer.

The one night I spent at the Spring Hill Suites East was probably the BEST hotel experience I've ever had (and trust me I've had plenty!). The hotel room was perfect! I was able to get work done in the office area and relax in the super comfortable king size bed. The hotel provides an airport shuttle (as well as a shuttle going to surrounding areas). […] The hotel is also close to the metro rail if you like to venture out like I did. The Staff was phenomenal, providing plenty of information, smiles, laughs, and take-out menus. You can't beat the complimentary breakfast. This was a business trip and it's difficult to lug a suitcase around everywhere; they not only held my suitcase after I checked out but I was able to access my suitcase, use the hotel facilities and have them watch my bag again many hours after I checked out. I hardly ever leave reviews for hotels, but I couldn't wait to leave a review and tell everyone how pleasant the staff was! This was the first time I stayed at a Marriott hotel, I have always kwon Marriott to be one of the high end hotel in the industry both in class and cost. But the class was there but the cost was not what I expected, I thought it would have been more expensive than it actually was, the breakfast was very good, the shuttle service drivers was very pleasant […] and friendly. Stayed here before our cruise. Website stated shuttle bus would take you within a 3 mile radius. Made dinner plans with family and learned upon arrival this is not true. Waited over an hour at the airport ( with 2 elderly and 1child) after being told the shuttle would be there in 20 minutes. Hotel staff was very rude after making a mistake with our […] transfer. My new fiance and I visited Miami, FLA from Maryland. We planned this trip months in advance because he is shipping for The US Navy soon. We originally checked in at a different hotel (A company that I use frequently) and did not stay there for out entire vacation. We were charged $100 per day for incidentals and $36 per for valet parking because there […] was no self parking... And I was not notified until I got there. Unlike the first hotel that we stayed in, we were served a HOT breakfast with MANY options, cheaper self parking, and I was notified of EVERY hold on my account at SpringHill Suites. The staff was so friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the area. They even recommended a few restaurants to get great food. I did not know that Springhill Suites provided such excellent service. The bed and room was very comfy and clean. The only down side is that the hotel is pretty close to a "rough" part of Florida. Mehr
