Plantation Motel - Island Park

It's exactly what it is, a no frills motel. Convenient location, clean....good for a night or two. Don't go there expecting the Ritz Carlton. The hotel clerk at the front desk was extremely polite and courteous. I would go there again for an overnight stay.

From the cigarette burns in the linens to the burnt out lights (including a ceiling light stuffed with paper), this was in no way a 2 star property. More like a place you warn your kids to avoid ... We walked in, found handprint streaks in the grime on the mirror over the bed and hair in the bathroom towels. Turning down the bed, we saw multiple cigarette […] burns and only one lamp worked. The cracks around the door gave a nice view to the parking lot, and parking lot noise was clear. Equally clear? dirty room filled with cigarette smoke while i mentioned not smoking room... towel stained... too far away from JFK... even though i insisted not more than ten minutes from jfk international airport new york...it was about +25 minutes drive from the JFK airport which coasted me more than $62. to go the MOTEL and another 62 dollards in the morning to […] make it at the jfk international airport for a total of $122 in cab fees alone....No food or restaurant nears by...the few were closed when i got there...i had to the night without food... the only good thing was the called the cab for me on time at 6am to make it to the JFK airport at 6:47am.... thank you very much........this is how satisfied i am ... Well, it was a very interesting place. It's just outside a nice neighborhood and that seemed comforting but don't let that fool you. First off....they have rooms by the hour which I thought was kind of funny. I even got to check in after a couple had just gotten the room for 2 hours and I don't think they were going to catch a cat-nap! No biggie, I'll […] only be here to sleep I thought. BUT, the real fun started when the 2 men and a "lady" in the room above mine began an epic screaming match and I was just imagining a bullet would be through the ceiling any second. I called the front desk and they moved me right away. I was pretty nervous there for a minute and looked for another hotel nearby and there weren't any. I was moved to a quieter part of the joint (and it is a joint!) and all was well. Bring your own soap and shampoo and I'd suggest full pajamas too. Mehr

We stayed here on a weekend trip to Long Beach. We went in with low expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. The motel is just that – a motel. While it was very clean and comfy, the carpets, furniture and decor were old. The floorboard heaters were exposed in the bathroom, giving it a bit of a dumpy feel. The rent the rooms by the hour also. Need I say more! We needed to be in Long Beach. The only other hotel we could find there was booked. It would have been better to have stayed farther away and rented a car to get us where we needed to be.

No-tell motel complete with hourly rates, ceiling mirror and 24x7 hardcore porn in the room. Unless you are looking for a grubby room where low-lifes go to cheat on their spouses, avoid this dump like the plague.

I had a nice stay. The shower head leaked but I didn't complain. I thought I lost my wallet in the motel but they helped me by suggesting it was in my car rental and I found it under the seat! Called to cancel prior to registration time, but they said they had no one there could authorize the cancelled and was told to call back Monday. Called on Monday and was told no one was there again and to call back Tuesday. Called back Tuesday and was told that they held the room and would not cancel or refund any of the money. So they wouldn't let […] me cancel it prior, and then they wouldn't refund later since they held the room. Scumbags. Mehr
