Great place to stay when visiting son who is a student at RPI. Great location only a few blocks from campus. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable.

Dial-a-bed feature was nice added touch. Food at on-site pub was very good, with many screens to watch sports.

Very covenient to RPI. Parking can be problematic as hotel popular for catered events. Very nice, casual restaurant attached.

We found this hotel to be clean and convenient. We did not need many services, but our needs were met. The beds were really comfortable. I would stay here again when the rates are good. I tried to book another weekend and found the rate to be twice what I paid. I will stay elsewhere that weekend. It is really close to RPI. This hotel is fairly new and close to RPI. The room was nice and the beds comfortable. I recommend booking rooms on the parking lot side of the building. Our room overlooked the street and traffic noises woke us up multiple times each night.

Hilton Quality-Everything you expect. 2 complaints,surrounding area is like Baghdad and the pool is heated, but that does not mean warm!

Troy itself seems to be marginal--some depressed areas but plenty of charm. This hotel is located near the charming part of downtown, and is a good value for folks in town to visit Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The staff of the hotel was outstanding specifically the Manager and the breakfast staff. Nice new clean hotel.

We were well pleased with all aspects of our stay. The staff was welcoming and our room was ready, clean, and comfortable. Though breakfast in the a.m. was not included in the room rate, it was plentiful, lots of choices, reasonably priced and staff was helpful and smiled. We'll be back for another stay when in the area.

This hotel staff are just excellent! They make you feel right at home. They will go out of their way to help you out any way they can. The hotel is in a very small town with nothing around it (not even a McDonalds! Just a Popeyes infront of it), so you'd have to use the hotel restaurant for food which gets boring after a couple of days due to limited […] variety. But, all in all, the stay was very nice. The staff was friendly and everything we needed was there in the hotel! Wireless internet (with printing capabilities) a restaurant/sports bar for dinner, a dining room for breakfast, and a heated indoor pool. We liked the fact that while we were there we didn't need to go out to search for a place to eat. The restaurant/sports bar had a good variety […] to offer for dinner, and was open until midnight. The breakfast in the dining room was excellent, offering a large variety of items including breads, fruits and cooked breakfast foods. The hotel was great, very nice, clean, convenient to where we needed to go. The ONE complaint I have is the housekeeping staff. At 9:00 am on sunday morning i could hear them BANGING on doors and YELLING to one another on their walkie-talkies. They were complaining about a man they work with and how they are "tired of having to do his work." I could […] hear every word of thier conversation. It was so unprofessional and so opposite of what I expected from something with Hilton in the title. If it wasn't for that i would say the whole place was perfect. Mehr

As an RPI alum, having a convenient, affordable and decent quality hotel nearby to campus is a huge plus. The Hilton Garden is definitely all of those things, and overall, our stay was pleasant. We also enjoyed the Sports Pub in the Hotel. We did have a couple of issues. The parking lot appeared to receive NO attention, making it treacherous given […] the snow/ice we have been experiencing this winter. Walking to the car was like putting your life in danger. While we did find the beds in the room, with the firmness adjuster to be quite comfortable, the pillows were awful, and we resorted to trying to sleep with towels from the bathroom. This left us very exhausted the next day. We will return, but will bring our own pillows. Mehr

Would only recommend hotel if you AVOID rooms ending in 11 as they are to close to the elevators and ice machines which you WILL hear almost all night long.

I was in the area for several days, taking my son back to his second semester of college. I got snowed in due to travel conditions and was very fortunate to spend my last night in Troy/Albany at the Hilton Garden Inn. Despite being a very high traffic hotel, everything was immaculate and simply perfect. I had several less than heavenly nights at other […] local hotels and was SO relieved when they had a vacancy for my final night in town. The front desk staff was AMAZING. They were incredibly knowledgable and kept me laughing and smiling each time I passed through the lobby(I was staying just around the corner from the front desk, so I saw them frequently). Food at the Sports Bar downstairs was great and very reasonably priced. Staff there was incredibly friendly and gave above and beyond service, as well. Great pool, great hotel.. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit the area. Neutrogena products which are great for everyone, even those with sensitive skin like myself. Everything you could want or need is available at the 'convenience' store beside the front desk. Mehr

We chose this hotel based on the ratings and its proximity to our family in the area. It also helped that the price was so reasonable! We were very happy with our stay. The rooms are a good size, clean and most importantly, sound proof. It may have been that there weren't many other guests around us, but I didn't hear a single footstep over me, noise […] from neighbouring rooms or voice from the hallway. The people working at the hotel were very friendly. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, and our breakfast at the hotel was quick and well served. It was a standard continental breakfast, but at $6.95 a person, it seemed fair considering we had no other options. A full hot breakfast was also available for $11.95. There isn't much going on around the hotel, but it was easy to get on the highway and there is a gas station across the street. All in all, we were happy with this hotel and would stay here again when visiting family. Mehr

The place was a little difficult getting to since it was sort of back off the road and not a clear sign from what I saw, but once there I was satisfied. The rate was good and so was the breakfast. The waiter in the dining area had a great attitude and never let my coffee cup get empty. He was really an asset to the hotel. Only issue that I see that […] might need addressed was that the buffet table was really close to the hot food table which made it feel a little cramped with other guests trying to get the breakfast. This hotel was great. The food was great at the sports bar in the lobby area. The price of the food was reasonable and the service was pleasant. The room was comfortable and had lots of towels, a microwave, a fridge, and a television with a great picture. Internet access in the room made it easy to do a little work. The cooks that did the breakfast […] were great. I found their sense of humor refreshing for such a nice hotel. Usually I find the staff at such a place rather stuffy and arrogant, but not here. Nice clean comfortable hotel, friendly staff, stayed 3 nights. Good breakfast with cook to make food, in my case requiring a special diet. Easy to find off the expressway. Neighborhood a little seedy but no problems when we shopped at local stores. Well lighted parking lot. Planning to stay here again next year.

The hotel is brand new and lovely - the business center had 2 computers and a printer available. Breakfast buffet was basic but good. Room was extremely comfortable with a firmness-adjustable bed. Convenient to highway. Only restaurant in walking distance was Sports Bar in hotel or Popeye's Chicken across the street but staff was very friendly and  […] helpful. Mehr
