This hotel should NEVER have been listed on Hotels.com. It's in a bombed-out neighborhood of St Louis, with no surrounding amenities. Its only reason for existence is to draw travelers off the nearby Interstate. The money I "saved" staying here was eaten up by paying taxi fare, since it was too dangerous to be out walking at night. It turned out to […] be four miles from the venue I was working, so that was a lot of taxi fare. My last night I had to leave my room because of partying in the room next door. Coming from out of town this was not a pleasant place to be! Run down buildings, MIDDLE of the ghetto, abondaned buisness each direction what a wonderful scenery! Next time will book ahead of time at the Hyatt!!!

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There were more smells and stains on the couch and room. Disgusting and I would never go back.

The location of the hotel is NOT safe. You should provide shuttle bus service to connect the hotel with downtown. Because of my conference schedule, I had to return to the hotel in the evening, and I was very worried and scared every time I had to get out of the car to enter the hotel. It would make a big difference knowing that there is someone there- […] the bus driver- while you are entering the hotel in the evening. In addition, you would create a job for someone in need, which is a good thing to do. I would definetely stay at the hotel again and recommend it to others if I knew that there is a shuttle bus and more security around the hotel. Pulling up to the Days Inn in St. Louis, I thought I had made a gigantic mistake. It looks like the hotel was dropped in the middle of an industrial park--long, grey buildings that could be the set of a horror movie. We ended up being pleasantly surprised. This hotel served its purpose in being close to downtown St. Louis. The area was not somewhere where I would walk around by myself; however, the hotel was well-kept and just as I mentioned above, served its purpose.

We booked here because it was supposedly close to the Children's hospital & go decent rate. The hotel was well maintained and clean. It's not a very good neighborhood and as a woman, I would have been anxious to drive there if I didn't have someone with me. Next to rail and trucking lines, and metal recycling & lots of delapidated buildings around. […] The usual breakfast fare was provided - though biscuits were somewhat hard & gravy was runny & bland. But waffle maker, cereal & juices were fine. I would not book here again just because of the location. Mehr

It was very pleasant.

My mom & I stayed here for 2 days during a Women's conference in Sept. The hotel is in a really funky, industrial area. There is an adult bookstore & tatoo place down the street, but really didn't see any cars or people around. However, we did see 2 wild dogs in the middle of the street as we were driving about a block away for the hotel. Despite how […] bad this area sounds, it's really not that bad & super convenient & close to downtown. I would not recommend if you don't have a car or don't plan on using cabs. Probably not safe to walk or wait for buses. Since we did have a car, i did feel totally safe. The lobby & room were super clean & the staff very nice. The room was also very modern & new. It had a dorm size refridgerator w/freezer, microwave & coffee maker. They also provide a continental breakfast, mostly carbs, bread, muffins, cereal. No meat or fresh fruit. They do have a "business center" which consists of a really slow computer with no printer so i couldn't print out my boarding pass, but I had my husbad check me in online and fax it and it was waiting for me at the front desk the next morning. All in all, a very good value if you look past the location aethetics and are more into location convenience, property & room cleanliness. I am planning on staying here again next year. Mehr

PHOTO WAS VERY MISLEADING; I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MY STAY AT DAY’S INN DOWNTOWN ST LOUIS. I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO BE SURROUNDED BY THE “RUN DOWN PART OF TOWN.” MY HUSBAND AND I HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, AT 2:44 IN THE MORNING SOME DRUNKEN GRIL WAS BANGING ON EVERYONE’S DOORS TRYING TO FIND HER ROOM. I CALLED DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK 4 TIMES AND COULD […] NOT GET AN ANSWER. FINNALY I WENT AND TOLD THE GIRL SHE NEEDED TO GO DOWN STAIRS TO GET HELP. SOON AFTER THAT THE ROOM BESIDE US, CAME IN DRUNK AND STARTED YELLING AND SCREAMING. I CALLED DOWN TO FRONT DESK AGAIN, 4 TIMES CALLING BEFORE SOMEONE ANSWERED. I TOLD WHAT WAS GOING ON AND I WAS TOLD, TO GO AND ASK THEM TO BE QUIET; BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. REALLY! SO TAKE THIS WARNING, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! Mehr

Our stay was very enjoyable. The manager was most helpful with information on the downtown area and services. The hotel is located off the beaten path yet within a couple of miles of the football and baseball stadiums as well as other downtown sights. This "downtown " location was in the dilapidated, burnt out section of downtown and rather frightening. I would not stay there again under any circumstances The room charge far exceeded the quality and location.

Hotel is not near anything, in a old warehouse district with abandoned warehouses. Highly overpriced for what you get. Paid for a suite with hot tub didn't get one. The elevator had trash in it for 2 days and the emergency call button was missing. The room had stains all over the couches and floor had some sort of ink stains. No safe in room like I […] was originally told. The fire alarm in the bedroom was removed I guess for smokers even though this was supposed to be non-smoking. In a bad neighborhood at night. Mehr

Hotel only 2 yrs built. Location situated in the outskirt of city in abandoned warehouse & industrial area. For the price & if your intention is just somewhere to sleep, the hotel is average but clean with good service. No pool!

Hotel was a little run down but nothing terrible, just slightly worn. Staff was very helpful but getting to the hotel was an adventure. The surrounding neighborhood was more than a tad bit scary. It was full of old warehouses and factories, just dark and a bit scary getting to the hotel and feeling safe in the parking lot. However, nothing bad happened […] at all. Mehr

The location of the hotel was no where near downtown. There was nothing within walking distance. There was a smell of oil though out the hotel and what looked like oil stains on the hallway floors. The floor in the room was not clean. The elevator was very unclean. When I removed the bedspread off the bed there were black hairs on the underside of it. […] It was very noisy what seemed like all night long. Got very little sleep. With a name like Days Inn Downtown, I expected it to be downtown which it was not.

Hotel was nice and newly renovated. Second turn off the expressway is easy to miss - looks like a semi-truck yard. Hotel is on an industrial-looking block. Convenient to downtown and Busch Stadium, just a weird location.

Hotel is close to downtown but not the way they make it seem. You have to get of the interstate in a bad part of town and drive down terrible roads to get to your fully fenced in hotel. Was kinda of worried about leaving our car outside! Bathtub did not drain in our room, by the time you were done taking a shower it look as if you were taking a bath. […] Vent fan in the bathroom was falling off the ceiling. Stains all of the carpet in the room and in the hallways. Downstairs at the check in counter had a really bad food smell. Had a hard time understanding what the gentleman and lady were saying that worked behind the counter. Would have never spent that type of money knowing now where the hotel is located. No way anyone from out of town would want to walk to the downtown sites with out a police escort. Very dark and dirty area for a hotel. One of the only buildings in that area that didn't have boards on the windows. Mehr

When I originally looked for a hotel, I looked for something in the downtown area that would be next to the Gateway Arch and other things you expect from a large downtown area. Well, the location wasnt exactly ideal. When my wife and I followed the GPS we were wondering why we passed all the skyscrapers. What we droved through was a very abandoned looking […] area and then "wham!" a brand new Days Inn. Since we were coming from the highway we got lucky. Later on that night we drove through a much rougher part of town that led us to the hotel. How the hotel was secluded from the rough neighbor nearby amazes me, but I'm glad it was. Still the location was convenient. Only 10 minutes to the real downtown area and the gateway arch. The actual hotel itself was quite nice. They had a business center (with only one PC), a continental breakfast, coin laundry, and workout room. It is 3 stories high with an elevator. All the furniture in the rooms as well as the lounge was very nice and new. Flat screen tv in the room was a plus. The manager/owner was a very kind and personable Indian and was very eager to help us with a huge smile. There was a St. Louis guide that is free that was in the lobby and in our room as well as a snack shop in the hotel. While the location wasnt the best (certainly not a location I would have picked knowingly. (However, I dont read reviews on a regular basis either) It was convenient and the hotel itself was quite nice for a Days Inn. I would recommend this hotel for a cheap stay downtown. Mehr

hey, great people, great place, scary location

The hotel was nice and clean but the location was a bit concerning! It is in the middle of a industrial area so we were a concerned about our safety. We were told that they had a 24 hour security guard. We never saw security in the parking lot. I thought the cost of the hotel was a bit pricey. We had to pay extra $ for my 2 kids!! We will not use this […] hotel again. Mehr

The location is convenient but within walking distance to downtown. It is in an ugly area but safety seems OK, parking lot is safe. Large comfortable rooms in very shape with granite showers and counters. Friendly staff, decent breakfast.

Kindof a scary neighborhood but a very quick drive to the stadium, arch, and brewery. The belgian waffles at breakfast were fantastic.

This hotel was very close to the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium. These were the two things I really wanted to see and they were both no more than 3 miles away. Their is one more bonus, the complementary breakfast was great especially the waffles. I look forward to staying there in the future.

For the price I paid I regret choosing this hotel over the nicer hotels at the same price and in better locations. It was a decent place to stay. The surrounding area was all industrial so not really a neighborhood. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The carpets were dirty throughout. A couple of the walls were scraped in my room. Desk person was nice and courteous.

We had a miserable time at this hotel! We were up til 5am b/c there was a very loud party that was in the room next to us. We repeatedly requested the assistance in quieting the party but the hotel staff did nothing to assist us! We asked to be moved to another room and they said there was nothing available. When we asked to be reimbursed for the room […] they refused that as well! We had to find accommodations at another hotel as we were traveling and needed to be well rested so we had to pay out a LOT of additional money just to get some sleep. We were late to arrive at the event we were traveling to b/c we had to stop when we had intended to drive through. It was the single WORST experience in hotel stays! I will NEVER stay here again and I will let all my friends and family know to avoid this hotel completely! BTW...we called upper management and they have YET to return our call and it's 3 days later! This is a newer property, however it really isn't all that clean. It is a bit grubby. Major carpet stains in hallways and elevator. All the employees are extremely nice and friendly, but there is just a different standard in cleanliness that just is not compensated by the newer age of the hotel.. Floors (carpet and tile) just are not cleaned daily. […] Walls are dirty in breakfast area. Trash receptacle in breakfast area is scary dirty. No attention to any kind of detail as far as cleanliness goes. This is a warehouse district, but not frightening after the first night (worried about our vehicle at first), but the property is fenced and there are security cameras. Despite the location I would recommend it if the property were much cleaner. Mehr

The sheets had pubic hair on them. We went to desk. They gave us the sheets and told us to change them. I have never been asked to do that!

Bad neighborhood. Loud guest.

Easy on and off the highway 2 miles from downtown. The price was right with free parking, internet and breakfast.

We had booked with another hotel that included a breakfast. I have to say that the continental breakfast was probably the worst I've seen in any hotel that includes breakfast. We had dinner in the hotel one night and it took forever. A 30 min. wait to get seated and then another 30-60 min for the ordering and food. Needless to say we did not eat there […] again. The hotel was afordable, below expected costs, and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again!

There was construction on the exit that we were supposed to take to the hotel BUT The hotel had clearly marked signs along the detour and it was easy to follow. The room was beautiful and clean, the people friendly, and the breakfast was better than we were expecting. The staff was very nice and helpful and they had info on downtown things to do which […] we found very helpful as well. I won't lie and say it's in the most glamourous part of town, but it was a decent location to get to and from downtown and my husband and I were impressed with it overall. Mehr

The only draw back is that it's in a very safe place. So be careful and don't ever be alone.

I really enjoyed my stay in St. Louis. The hotel was brand new, and the service was great. We easily took a cheap taxi ride to and from downtown & the baseball stadium. The neighborhood was not the best, as all of the surrounding buildings were abandoned and the area was secluded. Security was great, and there was a gated parking lot. I felt completely […] safe staying there, but you can't take a nice leisurely walk to downtown from the hotel. Mehr

I was very disappointed when we pulled up to this hotel. The hotel was in a very poor part of town, and it was not conviently located to any thing. The hotel itself was not too bad.

The hotel staff was wonderful, very nice people. They made us feel very welcome and were very attentive. The rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. I have no complaints about the hotel itself. My stay there was great. It's the surrounding neighborhood that was the problem. It is possibly the scariest neighborhood in all of St. Louis. There are lots […] of abandoned buildings, with broken windows and graffiti. You won't see anyone walking around. We just took a cab to and from downtown twice a day (cab fare is about $8-10). I would still recommend this hotel, especially if you were on a budget. The hotel itself is safe. The parking lot is gated and there is usually a security guard. Also, the two front doors are locked after dark, which a staff member will open for you. Mehr

This hotel is brand new, and features quite a number of amenities. The room I was in had a fridge, microwave, flat-panel TV, in-room safe, wired and wireless internet, a bathroom in great condition, and an overall range of accommodations. The location of the hotel is actually very convenient for accessing all the major attractions, downtown - it's […] just a short jump down the highway from Busch Stadium, et al. If there's an industrial quality to the area, it certainly isn't alarming. It seemed to me to be, actually, quite a tame area. If you're not expecting to set out to sight-see on the premises of the hotel, it's certainly doable. As far as the security of the premises , the hotel provides security, for that added measure of certainty. Mehr

Lock your car! You are blocks from one of the worst neighborhoods in St. Louis. The staff was helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel was in good repair and the room provided the perfect dark and quiet environment for rest. It is close to the interstate and the directions were easy to follow. Not bad for the money.

The hotel management was not courteous; they were rude and won't let me check-in for 2+ hours some simple book-keeping errors even after advised by hotel.com customer service. It was a nightmare.

After reading the other reviews, I was a little concerned about how bad the area would be around this hotel. Granted, it's not glamorous, but it's not bad either. It's the old industrial part of downtown; many un-used buildings. However, my husband and I walked to and from the stadium (to in the morning, from at night) and never had one problem. We […] even found a lovely couple that helped us make sure we were headed in the right direction. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, bed comfortable, amenities amazing!! We thought our room was nicer than the one our family stayed in at the Hilton! There is a gate around the property, but leaves the driveway open. If you're smart, and don't leave valuables in your car, you'll have NOTHING to worry about staying here! Mehr
