Modernes, stylisches Hotel. Wenn man nur eine Übernachtung hat, würde ich aber das so gut wie gleichwertige Schwester-Hotel Axor Feria gleich nebenan empfehlen, da es günstiger ist, die dort fehlenden Annehmlichkeiten stehen einem im Barajas auch zur Verfügung, für Frühstück muß man in beiden Hotels extra bezahlen. Very noisy, for some reason sound carries all the way to your room. The front desk people spoke very little English and was very hard to communicate. The restaurant food (within the hotel) is good. Very close to the airport. Woudn't recommend for tourist who are there primarily for vacation.

Very nice modern hotel closed to aeroport with shuttle rides to aeroport upon requiest.

Good quality hotel. Has a free shuttle that runs every half hour from the Hotel to the airport. To pick you up from the airport the shuttle bus comes randomly so your either lucky or not if you have a long wait. Room was nice and clean. The hotel is very convenient for overnight stays at Madrid Barajas airport. The free shuttle service is good unless they overbook it in the morning and you find yourself unable to use it as planned. Fortunately, they quickly readjusted and provided a separate van to take us to the airport in short order. The room itself was attractive and well-appointed, […] but the temperature was close to 50 degrees F. because the room's HVAC was shut off to conserve energy. Turning it back on did not produce a warm and comfortable environment because the system just didn't produce heat. Must have been a heat pump-type system. By morning, it was warmer. WiFi in the room worked without a hitch. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good. (Dinner at 10:30pm in Spain is normal.) The waiters were working very hard to please and in fact seemed to be rushed as though there was a crowd expected. My wife had the Confit of duck and I had the grilled tenderloin of pork. We shared a starter of shrimp in sesame tempura with an interesting delicately curried sauce on the side. Had a great rose wine from Navarra that went well with everything. As far as convenience, condition of the room, availability of a good restaurant, and price; I'd have to say this is a very good bet for closing out your stay in Spain. This in an airport hotel, not good for touring the city, but one that is far enough away from aircraft noise and close enough (15 minutes), to the airport to eliminate the worry of missing your flight. Very close to airport. Comfortable, exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful. Not much to do in the neighborhood, but there is a public bus close by to get you to the metro.

Great Hotel, very contemporary and incredibly clean. Service was always with a smile, free wifi too! Quite a distance outside the city centre but was visiting on business. The hotel served our needs in so far as convenience to the Barajas airport, & its amenities were good. However, we also experienced 2 major frustrations. Upon our arrival at the airport, we immediately looked for the hotel shuttle that was supposed to come by every 30 minutes. It did not come in the hour we waited. Anxious to get to the hotel, we could […] wait no longer & took a taxi. That was a 23+ Euro ride (well over $30). I mentioned that to the young lady at the Axor reception desk. She offered no explanation as to why the shuttle did not come, only saying that it should have been there. She also offered no compensation and/or apology for our inconvenience & expense. The next morning when my wife & I went down for the buffet breakfast (which was part of our package & already paid for), we were told that the buffet was not part of our package. Fortunately I had a copy of my hotel.com reservation. We were then allowed to partake in the buffet. Had I not had that, I do believe we would have had to pay for the buffet. Lastly, when we checked in, we had lined up a 10:30 a.m. time for the shuttle to take us to the airport for our flight back to the states. I double-checked that after breakfast & was told by the receptionist that that was not possible. I pushed the issue & finally were assured that we could haved the shuttle. We booked in Feb for October, due to proximity to airport & decent reviews. We waited for 45 minutes for the shuttle at the airport; finally took a cab. Not easy or quick to get to - fare was 25 euro!! Apparently the shuttle arrived about 10 minutes after we gave up. The info desk person had checked his book of hotels & said the shuttle would be there […] at 7 & 7:30 (it was 6:58PM!). Not so. We requested a return ride for the next AM. Receptionist gave us a choice of times. We selected 10:30AM. Fortunately, we checked outside & saw the shuttle there at 10:10, loading luggage & folks. We hustled & made it. Due to the road configuration, it's a much shorter trip TO the airport than FROM the airport. The breakfast staff was going to charge us for the breakfast buffet. Fortunately we had printed out all the info we'd gotten from hotels.com that clearly stated that breakfast buffet was included. Without that, we would have been charged. There is no choice as to eating places - the hotel dining room is it. Mehr

I've used this hotel several times for overnights in Madrid on my way back to the states. The hotel shuttle works flawlessly - saving you a lot in taxi fares - and its close to the airport so you get to the airport fast in the morning. The rooms are very comfortable and clean for the price you pay. There's a mall within walking distance which has many […] food choices. I'm not sure how good this place would be if you are touring Madrid, but I can tell you it's my hotel of choice for overnight stays near the airport. Mehr

This is a nice hotel located close to the Madrid Airport. It has only one problem which to me was a big one. You can't get anything to eat! They are in an isolated semi- industrial area. There are no cafes, restaurants, bars etc. And the hotel itself has only one relatively expensive restaurant, which does not open until 8:30pm. If you miss lunch, you […] are out of luck--you cannot even get room service. I ended up making a 20 minute walk to a grocery store. The problem repeated itself the next morning. I had an early flight and needed something to eat. They charged me 15 euros for a mediocre breakfast buffet, complete with luke warm water for tea and stale bread! Obviously, they know they have a captive audience. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel for an airport stay. It does not meet the needs of international travellers who may not be on local time. Mehr

I had a pretty bad experience at Axor Barajas. To start with I booked the hotel thinking it was conveniently near the airport in anticipation of my early morning flight. The hotel is not near the airport and if your flight leaves in early morning, evening, or at night then you will pay 20-25 Euros to get the airport by taxi that means like 30-40 dollars, […] The hotel shuttle only works during the day. Also there is no Metro stop near so it also costs a lot to get to the hotel if your going from the city or for that matter the closest Metro. The staff was rude to me and tried to turn me away when they couldn't fine my name on the reservations list but they were spelling my name wrong. Then they didn't call me for the wake up call at the time I asked them. For all these reasons i think this hotel doesn't deserve its high rating. I have stayed in many hotels much nicer that were rated less. Mehr

Great hotel. Staff very helpful. Took great amount of time helping me select a tour of Madrid. Rooms are spotless and the modern decor refreshing

Booked this hotel (we needed a room for 4) for an overnight layover in Madrid and it was great. The shuttle arrived within a few minutes of our landing in Madrid and we were at the hotel quickly. We took a taxi (20 euros each way) to Plaza Mayor and enjoyed walking in such a beautiful city, had a great dinner, and gawked at the street performers awhile […] before heading back to rest up for a long day of travel back to the States the next day. Very comfortable beds and shower. We had reserved the shuttle back to the airport in the morning and we were picked up on time with no problems. Great experience at Axor Barajas. If we had a complaint it would be that the bathroom door is opaque glass and doesn't lock, but the overall cleanliness and comfort make this hotel one we would reccommend to our friends. Mehr

The rooms in this hotel are very modern and well designed. We had a family room with murphy bed style bunk beds for the kids - they loved them. The Grohe rainhead shower was wonderful. Reception staff all spoke good English. Get good directions if driving to this hotel - this was the only time on our trip where google directions let us down. The hotel is modern and clean. The restaurant is a little pricey, but the food and service are excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, I was surprised that an airport hotel would not have more than one small shuttle going to the airport in the morning. Hotel conveniently located near the airport. Shuttle service to and from airport is a pleasure. Pity that for a 4 star hotel, there was NO complimentary bottled water. We expect more from a 4 star hotel! Comfortable stay overall.

This was my second stay at the Axor Barajas and nothing had changed. The room charge with breakfast included was more than reasonable and the actual breakfast buffet had enough for almost all tastes. Free Wi-fi and an open business centre area on the second floor to work. The gym was small but functional and boasted a hot tub and sauna. Busy front desk and long waits for the shuttle to and from the airport, but hotel itself is very modern, clean, and comfortable.

pros: Good location near airport and mall. Very clean, comfortable,nice! Staff helpful! Would stay there again. Cons: Frosted glass non locking bathroom door, not very private.

The stayed here on the last day of my trip in Madrid to catch an early morning flight. The hotel is located in a residential area close to the airport, and is clean, spacious and modern.

Basement room, outside of hotel?, with no A/C and no TV, open at 8am?

As an airport hotel guests are rudely noisy in lobby and corridors. I also suspect a few ladies of the night are doing business there. I hope the hotel will take charge on that.

This is a very nice hotel, however the front desk employees attitude is terrible. It sours your view of the whole experience.

The air conditioning in our room did not work. This was the only negative experience we had at the hotel.

I was traveling with my children ages 26, 19 and 13. We were very happy with the hotel. The hotel van picked us up at the airport within 20 minutes of our call and we requested transportation back to the airport the morning of our departure, the van ran every half hour or so. The bus stop was conveniently a block away. It was a clean, modernly decorated […] hotel and the room was nicely laid out and very comfortable. Check in was fast and staff was friendly. Beautiful hotel, modern chic in furnishings and decor. Fantastic styling in bathrooms with a large shower and big shower head and big enough you could shower with a friend. Bed was large, firm yet good to sleep in. Kind of a thin quilt, didn't see another in closet, didn't need it either, room was comfortable […] temperture all night. Staff delivered a wakeup call and early morning taxi arrangements. The only problem I had with the rooom was I asked for 2 beds, room had one although in typical Euro fashion a king size bed is really 2 large twins so we made do. The bar and resturaunt has good food but is expensive. Also they are open for lunch at I think 1100- 1600 (4pm) then reopen in typical Spanish fashion 2030-2400 (8:30pm- midnight). I didn't see any resturaunts in walking distance outside hotel. There is a room service menu, didn't see if they served food after hours. When traveling in Spain you have to keep these hours in mind, they often enjoy their big meal late when I would consider bedtime. Mehr

Hotel staff lacks personality and doesn't tell the truth. I was forced to pay 60 euros for the "complementary" breakfast for two days upon check-out. Don't waste your time here...go to a better location...the train is easy to take and you could see more and get better service.

We stayed here to stage for our early morning flight back to the States. It is the perfect transit hotel. Free shuttle picked us up on arrival and took us back in the morning. Our room was extremely nice, with a huge bathroom. ( our room was actually nicer than our 5 star room in Malaga!) We had a nice balcony and enjoyed a bottle of wine out there. […] Lobby bar was very nice and allowed us to order from the restaraunt menu. There is also an Irish bar about 5 blocks to the right, as you exit. Limited English, so break out your phrase book. This hotel was very modern AND comfortable to stay in with two young children. We will stay here again when we return to Madrid. It's close to the airport and has a great mall located just around the corner (walking distance - 10 minutes) that's open late. Room was spotless and the bunk beds for the kids were perfect -- when the front desk realized […] our kids were little -- the receptionist requested guard rails to be brought to the room immediately. Great hotel for your last or first night in madrid. Comfortable clean rooms and very helpful front desk staff. The main shpping and tourist area is a fifteen min bus and prob twenty min metro ride away but other than that the hotel is very nice. Very nice place to stay great proximity to the airport. Lounge food and service was very good. Clerk spoke enough English to get us checked in and airport directions. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel axor barajos has a hi-tech style decor with free internet services along with free shuttle services to and from the airport.

Great hotel with efficient pleasant staff. Clean, comfortable, modern, well-equipped rooms. Perfect for one or two nights near the airport. Not so convenient to go to the center of Madrid. Really wish Axor had another hotel in the center since I loved the Axor Barajas so much. Free wi fi in the room works well, laptop-size safe a big plus, as well as […] free shuttle pick-up from the airport. Buffet breakfast was very good at 15 euros. Won't hesitate to stay here again if on an overnight layover. Mehr
