Hotel Locarno - Rom

Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe am Piazza del Popolo mit U-Bahn Anbindung.Sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind ein wenig muffig, aber dafür ist das Frühstück ausgezeichnet und das Ambiente des Hotelinnenhofs (Frühstück im freien ) typisch Italienisch,wunderschön.

und hat mit allem das hotel super gefallen- es ist sehr zenrtal. das zimmer was wir gebucht hatten, war sehr klein. haben dann ein anderes zimmer bekommen, dass war weitaus größer. mussten allerdings noch zu zahlen. was sich sehr gelohnt hat,das zimmer hatte sogar einen kleinen balkon. das frühstück war ok habe ich schon besser erlebt, bei 4 sternen. es […] gab jeden tag frisches obst. Hotel ist seh gut gelgen zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Freundliche Bedienung sehr guter Service.

Durch die zentrale Lage und das wunderschöne Jugendstilinterieur hat mich dieses Hotel begeistert. Die sensationelle Dachterrasse mit Blick über die Dächer ist eine Oase. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ich werde wieder hingehen.

Sehenswürdigkeiten, Einkaufsstraßen und Bushaltestellen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehr schöne saubere Zimmer, schöne Dachterrasse, sehr gutes Frühstück.

My wife and I stayed at this authentic Art deco hotel for a weekend trip in Rome. The style and interior sets this hotel apart from the many hotels in this area and it’s the perfect setting for experiencing the ancient Rome. Especially […] their garden restaurant/bar was fantastic and well visited in the evening by the locale Romans and excellent for a night drink after a long day walking the streets of Rome. The garden was also used for the very nice breakfast buffet. The staff was very friendly and very service minded. The close surroundings are packed with very good small family owned restaurants. The only reason to book this hotel is for the breakfast and the service. It was amazing!! Hot eggs and bacon, fruit, pastries, meats, juices, latte's, and cereal. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The downside are the rooms. My shower was covered in mold, both in the shower tiles and on the floor outside of the shower. And the sink would […] make a high pitched screaming if it was turned on too high. The cold water didn't work at all. Mehr

If you want a convienient hotel to stay when you're in Rome this is a very good choice. Staff were very nice and helpful. Our room wasn't big but clean and tidy with a small shower. Breakfast was adequate and filled us to set off on our adventures. Recommend totally!

An Italian hotel with a great service and location. They need to upgrade the bathrooms though cause our shower was not working properly, it was dirty in the bathroom when we came and they had problems with the airconditioner. It felt like a 2-3 star hotel and I would not stay there again.

Simply great! perfect location 100mts to piazza del Poppolo & via del Corso. Very IN Bar. Authentic decoration overall. Our room looked to the street and was slightly noisy (but its really not bothering, as not a main street). Would love to go back. Good price quality and authenticity ratio!

First 2 nights spent in a smelly room where the toilet was burping up sewer gas and the shower water gets everywhere on the floor without a drain. Don't get any rooms in the lower floors. nights 3 and 4 spent in a smaller room. The shower drain did not work this time but the hotel staff didn't really do anything about it so we had to pump the drain […] with our feet in order to finish the shower. I arrived and was given a pokey room with a shower and no view when I had booked this hotel after much research to find the perfect stay for my first visit to Rome. I thought it had great views,spacious with high ceilings and large spotless bathrooms so you can imagine my disappointment. After asking to change my room for one with at least a bath I […] was told it would be an extra 50euros a night,I agreed as my room was an important part of my visit but subsequently my budget for tours,meals etc took a big turn for the worse and I spent the whole 3 days worried that my money would run out,very stressful and frankly really not worth the hassle. I would not stay there again as I would just not be confident that I would get what I paid for. What a shame. Mehr

Close to everything but tiny rooms, uncomfortable bed and fungus growing all over tiles in bathroom and up wall probably due to the exhaust fan no longer working.

Excellent hotel services. The cots for parking and internet access is expensive and actually abusive

Several good restaurants immediately available. Very convenient location yet not on a busy street. Older hotel with a lot of character.

this hotel was very good location for all we needed. very quaint afternoon tea was a ritual and well enjoyed after a long day of sightseeing. the Hop on Ho off bus was on of the best ideas. see the city on first go around then decide where to get off on the next. Sinday at the Hotel Lucarno was a experience. they have comp. bicycles. Wow what fun. we […] were closed to the piazza del popole. very nice. I can wait to take my sister bak her for a long weekend. Free internet did not work in the building. The breakfast buffet was good. Very good location. Staff was really nice but at times they had an attitude.

Excellent breakfast, champagne. Bathroom and beds small. Great location. Our room the air condition fan was loud, we were told a remodel was coming in a couple of months.

This was one of my worst hotel stays ever. The staff (other than the restaurant) were unfriendly and totally unhelpful. Although they advertise a concierge none was available for the duration of our stay. The room was little more than a cubicle fitting in twin beds, with a tiny, cramped bathroom and a shower instead of the advertised bath tub. On […] the day of arrival, the airconditioner in our room was not working. We brought it to the attention of the front desk who advised that the system was broken throughout the hotel and they were waiting for a part to repair it (nice of them to let us know when we checked in). After five days in 34 degree celsius heat, there was still no airconditioning in our room. I enquired on checkout when it would be fixed and was advised that had been fixed three days earlier? Compared to the stunning NH Porta Rossa Hotel that we stayed at in Florence (more like 5 stars as opposed to the 4 it boasts), Hotel Locarno rates a 1 out of 5. Would not recommend this hotel even as a very last option. Mehr

The Locarno, was an art nouveau haven in the most convenient part of Rome. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly in every way. The little garden courtyard is a little eden and I relished returning their from hectic sightseeing and enjoying the breakfast buffet every morning. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is tired, rundown and dirty. The air conditioning was not working properly and it was impossible to even dry off after a shower. The room was small and dirty. There was mold on the bathroom walls and the floor was filthy. I'm sure it was a nice place at some point, but it is clear they have not put anything into renovating over the years. […] Although the staff was courteous, you could tell they were even embarrassed by the condition of the hotel. They are negligent to pass this off as a 4 Star hotel. Never again. Mehr

The hotel is well located and comfortable.

Good for folks who want to be out of the noisier areas of Rome. This means a bit more walking to sights and tourist areas so it's a trade-off. Very nice outdoor patio for breakfast buffett and evening drinks.

The hotel looked beautiful from the outside. Gorgeous patio bar/restaurant area, nice lobby, nice neighborhood (residential feeling), short walk to main shopping area and Piazza. The room was clean but very shabby. Poor lighting, old stained wallpaper, no character at all. You can tell it was once beautiful and upscale but it needs renovating now. Bathroom […] was fair. Very noisy since we were on first floor. OK for the price- on the moderate end; but wouldn't want to be there for more than one night. You get what you pay for. Mehr

This hotel is conveniently located next to the Piazza Del Popolo and the Borghese Park and is within easy walking distance of the Spanish Steps. Many restaurants and shopping streets are only a stone’s throw away. The staff was helpful and efficient and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was served in a picturesque courtyard and the […] buffet was extensive and delicious. The only drawback was the incredibly hard mattresses that were reminiscent of the marble pedestals in the nearby Galleria Borghese. Mehr

The Hotel Locarno is THE PLACE to stay. The location is at the Piazza del Popolo which is at "The Head" or the 3 main roads to tour Rome. Everything is accessed from these three roads and it makes, walking to sites, eating, and shopping very easy. The staff is awesome and will arrange ANYTHING you need to include VERY reduced prices for Limos to and […] from the airport. They are there for you and there is no questioning that! The rooms are unbelievably comfortable, spacious, and clean. The Courtyard Garden for breakfast is the best and in the evening it is the place to be for drinks and to meet others to include the locals from the area. They also have a menu for lunch and dinner that is awesome as well. Mehr

We loved the charm and location of Hotel Locarno, right in Tridente, it's perfect for seeing Ancient Rome and a spit of shopping. The service was good, the staff being so readily bilingual was a real help to out meager Italian. Breafast and cocktails in the courtyard were lovely, and we really enjoyed a pizza and bottle of chianti alone with the sunset […] one night on the roof terrace. The only downside was the size of the room and the squeaky bed, but as art deco enthusiasts who loved the location, I still think we'd return. Mehr

We were traveling with our 5 month old. The hotel staff was not that great about an early check-in, which was our biggest complaint. We had traveled for over 12 hours and were just so tired and wanted to put the baby down to sleep. Also, the elevator wasn't working. So we had to lug all of our gear + baby up a bunch of flights of stairs. But, the room […] was pretty comfortable, although small, and the hotel provided a baby cot. The location was really great. Close to Piazza del Popolo and an easy walk to spanish steps, trevi fountain, and pantheon. On a cute and quieter side street, which we liked. Mehr

we stayed one night only, and so were willing to take the last room available in the annex across the street, which was very small. the double bed was more like a one-and-a-half. but it was inexpensive, and the hotel is cute--it has a wes anderson-like charm to its decor, and the bathroom was modern and clean. for breakfast the next morning (included) […] we sat in the hotel's courtyard and enjoyed a nice buffet and cappuccino. the location right near piazza del popolo is wonderful--close to the metro while still in the historical center, and the street the hotel is on is quiet. the staff were also pleasant and helpful, and spoke many languages fluently. we would certainly recommend this place, and hope to go back sometime for a longer stay. We were 5 guests in the hotel and took three rooms. They were all beautiful and spacious. Location is great and within a walking distance to Rome's main sights. The patio is beautiful and breakfast is tasty. I highly recommend the hotel and will deinately visit it again next time I come with my family to Rome.

Hotel Locarno is a great stay! Like stepping back to the 50's --- very chic with a beautiful outdoor patio and a cool bar -- even the elevator is charming. The location is fantastic --- easy access to all the sites -- I walked all over the city from here. I highly recommend this hotel.

Belle epoque is the theme here, and the place is jumping with stylish people. The lobby and outdoor eating areas in particular have loads of charm and seem to be one of Rome's hotspots (hint: make sure you don't get a room over the front if you want quiet). Breakfast is good and plentiful. However, the rooms and hallways are are run down; just washing […] the curtains and putting a new bedspread on the bed would make a world of difference. Maybe it was the exchange rate, but I feel like a paid a load of money for a "quadruple" that merely had two trundles shoved in. Service was Ok but not overly helpful. Not really in the heart of tourist attractions like the Colosseum and Piazza Navona but at least it is a few blocks away from the Metro stop. Mehr

This is a very charming hotel. Staying there felt a bit like being in a movie, with the classic decor, the old-style elevator (three stairs up from the lobby) and the real key with a half-pound key fob instead of a card security system. The patio between the hotel and its annex is lovely and is one of the hotel's nicest features. In the morning a buffet […] breakfast is served there and at night many of Rome's most attractive people collect for a drink before they go out dancing. Get there early to enjoy some impressive people watching. The patio's drink prices are steep, but they include a big appetizer tray that we made our supper one night. There is a little-used rooftop patio on the main building that makes a nice escape from the crowds or from your hotel room. Infrastructure is a bit creaky: slow draining shower, slow heating water, our phone woke us up a couple of times with random noises, no A/C, but really, no worse than we expected and serviceable. Good quality, free wi fi. Smallish room, good big bed. People were very friendly and helpful. There's some nice little restaurants within a couple of blocks; not much English but the food was a step up from the tourist targeted fare near the big piazzas. Location is great, not much traffic, close to the Spanish Steps, shopping, the river. Fifteen or twenty minutes to walk to the Trevi fountain and Pantheon. Mehr

We stayed in the annex on the 3rd floor. This hotel was easy to find because of its proximity to the Piazza del Popolo with its large obelisk in its center. The hotel is just off the main pedestrian street that heads directly into the center of Rome. It was an easy walk to the Vatican (about a mile) as well as to the Colosseum (1.5 mi), as well as the […] Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain (both about a mile or less). The courtyard was charming and the pastries at breakfast were too good (I couldn't resist endulging). There are lots of quiet cafe's and tons of shopping near by. The rooms were large and the bath towels were very large and soft. Furnishing is a bit sparse but adequate. I'd definitely stay here again. Mehr

Rome was our last stop on our 3 week driving tour of southern Italy. Unlike some of the other cities and towns we visited, our GPS had no trouble directing us to the Hotel Locarno. It is located on a quiet little street just a block off of the Piazza di Popolo. A few blocks away is Via Il Corso for high-end shopping and 10 minutes walking brings you […] to the Spanish Steps. Traffic on the hotel's street was light, which allowed us to sleep in what can be a busy and noisy city. They do not have a restaurant, but the very attractive bar occupies two rooms indoors and one large area outdoors. They provide a variety of items to eat with your drinks in the evening. They also provide a light lunch at mid-day and it is where breakfast is served. The rooms are simple and on the small side, but adequate and totally modernized. One of my favorite things was the small cage elevator that probably goes back to the day the Hotel was new in the late 1800s. Rome is an expensive city. If money is not an object, there are several luxury hotels. But, the Hotel Locarno is reasonably priced and a decent value for the price. Mehr
