There is no office, you have to talk to someone through bullet proof glass, and there is a little opening to slide your credit card through and your fingers barely fit. It is very unsettling and uncomfortable. Unsafe neighborhood The beds are hard as rock, I killed a bug first time in room, we cancelled our reservations and would never go back.

I didn't enjoy my stay for two reasons. One, the traffic near the Hotel was loud and consistent. Even as late as 11 at night there were sounds of traffic. I was awaken by traffic noises and couldn't get to sleep because of the traffic. Hotel location was good, 7 mins. away from my destination. Room was supposed to be non-smoking; however, room had odor which smelled like smoke. Management claim room had been newly painted. Missing towels and hangers. Bed was very comfortable

Awesome Internet speed, but roaches will keep me from coming back.

Had a distinct smell. Outside entrance. Kind of a bad neighborhood. I got what I paid for.

This is one of less than a handful of the motels in Long Beach that advertise at the very lowest prices there are on Hotels.com I have stayed here and some other places in Long Beach, a few times already in the Autumn of 2011. I get the impression that some of the other reviews came from people who may have a phobia for people of color. The location […] is urban Long Beach. The family that owns this motel is very hardworking and has always been very respectful to me. Yes, there are nicer motels in Long Beach, but they cost more. Here's what I like... at the Royal Inn Motel, the bathrooms are large and everything works. The water pressure is almost industrial grade. The hotel is small approx. 20 rooms and the parking area has a wall across it which makes it real easy to pack, unpack or just clean out your car without any distractions. This would also be a plus for anyone having mobility issues. The office has a bell mounted at a lower height for disabled persons. All of the rooms have solar tinted glass. My room has a very nice little table and two chairs. In most other places in this price range, you would be lucky to have one chair and a desk. Few people will notice that the Royal Inn Motel is located right in the heart of Long Beach's Cambodia Town. Great restaurants are within a short walking distance. The shopkeepers here are also a great bargain if you need any medical, optometry, beauty or tailoring services. The Cambodian people are very sweet and take their time with you to provide excellent service. There's a really nice dressmaker about two blocks West on Anaheim Street. Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are more secluded from the parking area. Rooms having two beds are less often rented. YOU MUST GO to JOE JOST's about one half mile East on the corner of Anaheim & Temple. Try their world famous "SPECIAL" which is a Polish on Rye with Swiss and a Dill wedge... if you say LOADED they'll top it off with fresh slivers of Red Onions and Atomic Horseradish ... I p Mehr

I will recommend thus hotel to anyone. Not a 5 star but gives the comfort, and customer service if one...didn't like the 10:59am phone call to .let us know the ck out time. Lol..a lot for ur money. Peaceful.

When you first pull up to the property it is like where did I go? The outside needs an home improvement to it but once you get inside you forget about the outside because it is totally remodeled inside the room.

Not recommended. Very rude manager behind a bullet proof window. Not a very safe area to walk around either.

Found a condom wrapper in the bed. Horrible noise, Horrible Bed. I was glad to get out of there. Camping is better than this.

Watch out at night, I would not venture out by myself. There is nothing to do around this motel. If you want coffee, you have to ask for it, they do not offer it if you don't. And make sure you check the coffee maker ours leaked and did not produce one cup of coffee. Room was small, but it was clean.

Rooms VERY clean and nice although a little small, service was great, no problems :)

The hotel and parking lot were very clean. The room had clean sheets and towels plus bottle water. The area the hotel is located is a little scary for anyone from out of town and their customer service was lacking greatly. So, if you can get passed the rude owners and not go out at night, you will be fine.

This hotel is not recomended and I will never book here again. They had bed bugs and there staff stinks I was there for 1hr and wanted to leave they would not give me my money back. I would never do this again and hope no one else does either.

The name Royal Inn is an ironic. The living conditions and the cleanliness of the room is pathetic. I booked this room for 2 days but there was no room service during my stay here. No room service. The bedsheets look like they belong to my ancestors of 19th century. They were in a very dilapidated condition. Looks poor from outside,and extremely crowded inside.

We needed a place to hold us for the night. Didn't need anything special, just a place to sleep and shower. The hotel room required the old fashion key entry but most importantly, our room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Firm and clean bedding with nice exterior well kept appearance. Hotel owner gave me early access to a room at 0900 to change clothes and drop off my luggage prior to my room being available. The owners are a nice family that accommodate their guests. Previous review comments about language barriers are overstated. The location is not a short walking […] distance to Long Beach attractions but if you have a car its an easy short drive, 5-10 minutes and no busy freeways necessary, and only $10 cab fares. The surrounding neighborhood is full of ethnic diversity with well kept homes. This hotel property may not be for everyone or people who think a Best Western is roughing it, but it's a good deal with clean firm bedding. Mehr

Hard bed, slow response at check in and check out, limited parking, but got the job done and cheapest in area.

From the outside looks kinda like a dive. Not the best neighborhood. I went in my room and was suprised at how clean and nice it was on the inside. Very well kept and nice features like a mini fridge and full basic cable with HBO. Close to Long Beach Convention Center. Overall good experience. That Hotel is in a very scarey part of town. You get your key through a window. They don't speak good english and the most scarey thing was there was no dead bolt/lock from the inside that normal hotels have. I am female traveling alone. I did not sleep well. I pushed the chairs up against the door. They don't change your towels everyday. You have to […] ask to get fresh towels......so at midnight when I got back to my hotel... I woke them up and ask why I don't have fresh towels for my early shower in the morning. He said in broke english. You pay me very little money I am not going clean your room everyday for you. This one has it all: tiny, smelly rooms, insects, dirty carpet & towels, staff not exactly friendly, extremely inconvenient parking, noise from outside all night. The main thing though is a really rough neighborhood w/ plenty guys on streets at night selling something and plenty gals selling something else. Oh, did I mention that there are no security […] locks on doors? ... The only positive thing was a decent wifi internet connection (apparently no one else was using it). Suits those who are driving through. it was overall ok. Nothing much, nothing less.

Hotel tres bien mais pour une courte escale... car si le séjour à l'intérieur est correct..l'environnement de l'hotel est un peu bruyant..on entends le bruit des voitures etc...ce n'est pas un hotel de villégiature..juste de circonstance..mais vu le rapport qualité prix..c'est un bon hotel..

L'accueil ne fut pas terrible, le gérant ne maitrisant pas l'anglais et se comportant assez bizarement. Nous avons ensuite été agréablement surpris par la propreté et l'état général de la chambre qui vaut bien son prix raisonnable comparativement aux autres hotels que l'on a fait.
