Auf dem weg zu key west eine gute Bleibe. Strand vorm haus und jedes zimmer mit eigenem kohle grill. Alles sauber und nettes Personal. Sicher kein Ritz aber Preis Leistung war gut.

This hotel is older and in need of repair. Our original room was moldy and damp smelling. When we complained, they were very nice to change our room and were quick to offer us a better room. It is on the water with nice views, but I would not recommend it unless they make some improvements to the rooms and the property.

Old, old hotel. Price value was still high at $150 p/night considering the much needed upkeep of the hotel. Even the ice had to be purchased at $3.00 p/bag. Smelly outside because of the tide and seaweed build up. Would not book at the Yellowtail. Much rather drive further down into Marathon and pay more next visit.

There was sand falling from the ceiling in the bed. Our backs were sore in the morning from the bed. The bathroom was 2 feet wide. The garbage was picked up at 5 am by a dump truck 5 feet from our window. On top of that it was almost 200$ a night. When it should be 50$

The hotel was not to bad for the price its was a last minute stay the staff was pleasant. When we got there we were informed we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Which was nice and the room was clean.More then what we needed. I didnt like the envelope to tip the maid on the table and the fact that the closet door was not even attacthed it was just leaning […] there. there was no coffee supplied no soap just basic things a hotel usually supplies. To get to the room there was a door next to it that looks like its falling apart also on the side of the stair it look to be there storage for junk not a nice view.Now i know its the key and there is wear and tear but just a little tlc and it should be perfect. the beach was your typical beach at the keys. Took me back to the seventies in decor. Overall, I felt the property could have been made more welcoming by having chairs around the tables outside, generally clean up the place and make minor repairs (ie level ground, landscaping, paint). Our room was clean, however, we did not have any towels or remote. The blinds offered some privacy but we did not […] feel secure in knowing that someone could not look into our room at night. The exposed pipes in the bathroom were an eyesore as well as the toliet rocking when you sat down. Fixing little details would make a BIG difference in warmness and welcoming guest to this establishment. Also, having outside lighting between buildings would be great as far as safety. Mehr

The hotel is located on a "beach". The view is great if you do not look down, The trash on this particular beach was terrible. The keys does not have a sandy beaches, which I knew; a lot of grass but the trash I just could not get over the amount of trash. I spoke to a young guy one night about the slow speed and asked him to reboot the router. He said " It is free what do you expect, go in town to internet cafe". Really? Booked suite w king bed on first floor and on the beach. What we got when we arrived was 2 bedroom with 2 double beds on the second floor w a dirty beach view from across the pool area (not on beach). The walls in the room were dirty and felt like entire room was very dirty. As if that wasnt bad enough..this particular room was in a hotel next door […] that I assume is owned by same people-Casa Del Sol Beach Resort--and not even in Yellowtail Inn. During a roadtrip in which we didn't make any reservations until we rolled into a town, the Yellowtail Inn stands out as one of the best deals we found! We stayed for 3 nights and encountered 2 different employees at the front desk, both of whom were laid back and very helpful when asked about local life. One of them also allowed us into an empty suite […] to do our laundry - for that, he gets bonus points. Maria, the lovely lady cleaning the rooms during our stay, was chipper and a delight to see strolling around the grounds every morning. We were able to negotiate a better rate for our final night, which we tacked on because we loved the place so much. The ocean view is marvelous. Wildlife - like crabs and iguanas - abound. All that being said, this is no Marriott (which is why we loved it). The room was smallish, but faced the ocean. The AC functioned, the furnishings were quaint, and the porch was the perfect place to spend an evening with a bottle of wine and some cards. Also, the little "cooling off" pool was much appreciated. It seemed small when we first arrived, but it's all we needed. Marathon was a great, low key home base from which to daytrip and see the rest of he keys, and the Yellowtail Inn was a jewel in an unexpected crown. Recommended for backbackers, families or anyone looking for an under-the-radar experience. Mehr

If you like really classy hotels, this might not be the place for you BUT, if you like Bahamas style living this is PERFECT. Love staying in this hotel, the views are amazing and the staff is wonderful. LOVE STAYING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff was great expecially the front desk and housekeeper. But the hotel is run down and not as nice as described on line. Room was much smaller and the beach rock and chairs were old and worn out. Pretty disappointing for the money we paid for the room. It was clean, but not anything fancy. About a C- hotel rating.

The first thing the person checking in told me was "If you decide to leave you need to contact Hotels.com for a refund, not me". After staying in the Cottage, I'm assuming most people DO ask for their money back and find another room. Not a full kitchen, no Microwave. Duck tape to seal holes in shower. I was very surprised with the room's condition. The room was so nasty that we had to leave and could not even consider staying a minute longer. We tried to get a reimbursement on at least one night, but the hotel's policy does not adhere to reimbursements even when the room they are offering is dirty and the bed is full of bugs. I am also disappointed […] with the services provided by hotel.com. They could not do anything to help us get our money back because they follow the hotel's policy. If this is the only available motel in Marathon "SLEEP IN YOUR CAR" it would be more comfortable and cleaner.Our stay at the Yellowtail Inn was disgusting.The refrigerator was rusted,stains on the sheets,spiders and cobweb in the living area,curtain rods rusted,moldy,dirty ,was way overpriced and had to kill 3 bees in the bathroom trying to brush our […] teeth. And for a kicker they will not return your money if you are not satisfied with your room. And don't even think that you can talk to a manger that is never available and will not call you back to resolve you issues.I hope this review will saves one person form staying at this place and from ruining their vacation like it did mine. This was my third time travelling to the Keys, and also my third time staying in the Marathon area. The pictures are very deceiving. The hotel has a beach, but there is so much broken glass in the area it's not safe to walk in barefoot (this is obvious at low tide, when all of the water leaves the beach area and the pier area is dry.) Our room was left […] unlocked as we were checking in past 10 pm, which any of the other guests/vistors could have entered and claimed (esp. since many of which were intoxicated.) Our room (109) had a musty smell, and the furniture (futon) had been chewed up by some animal. For three nights, the people upstairs kept us awake at night due to their running and stomping; after three such nights, we complained and were told there was nothing that could be done, that we had one of the "nicest" rooms, and we could talk to the manager the next day if we wished. Also, good luck obtaining linens; for the three of us staying there, we consistently only received 1-2 washcloths daily. There were no blankets for guests who needed them. Many of our towels had holes, and our sheets had stains. As far as cleanliness, our maid never in 4 days swept our floors, which were always covered in sand secondary to the room being next to the beach area. Customer service is not great for them, either. As stated above, the daytime desk clerk was not helpful with our complaints (and was generally rude.) At checkout, he didn't even ask how our stay was--guess he knew! Mehr

In Canada, our 50$ motel rooms are better than the room we had. With the price they charge for staying there they should invest in renovating their rooms. Old, crooked floors on upper level room, soap in the shower was in a million pieces when I opened it to use it, I didn't dare to touch the quilt on the bed. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Hotel room was not clean and the room smelled like insecticide. Beds were uncomfortable and the building was old and run down. Save yourself the time and look for a different place to stay even if it costs more.

The cottage we stayed in was perfect. It was literally on the beach as promised and everything was well taken care of and very quait. The property and view were gorgeous. Being familiar with the hotels in the keys this hotel was just as expected. Very quaint, quiet place. Nothing fancy at all. Room was clean and had a full kitchenette. Staff was very friendly. It is right on the ocean so there was a beautiful view and has its own cute little beach to sit on. Very satisfied and would use the facility again.

While the room was large and included a kitchen and dining table, there's several significant drawbacks. The beach smelled like sewage and was littered with shoes, plastics, beer cans, fishing lines & lures, etc. After hearing how many endangered sea turtles ingest this stuff, our family went out and filled 4-5 trash bags of stuff along the beach by […] the hotel. The staff should be ashamed! I'd boycott this hotel simply for their lack of caring for the ocean right outside their front door. They give you a coffee pot, but not a single pack of coffee. The nearest coffee place open before 8am was 5+ miles away. A sign says if you use the dishes you must clean them or be charged a large fee. Fair enough, but they provide no dish washing soap! How many people carry this when they travel? They also provide no shampoo or bath soap, the soda machine did not work, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. One of the beds was actually a pull out futon. I had to crawl over my wife to get out of bed in the morning. Lastly, we heard 20-30 minutes of extremely loud banging right outside our window at 5am from a trash truck. How about scheduling that later in the morning or loading the trash by hand when it's that early? Mehr

Hôtel bien situé avec une très belle vue et accès direct à la mer (sauf que nous n'avons pas eu de chance car la plage était envahi d'algues).
