Homewood Suites by Hilton Phoenix Airport South - Phoenix

This hotel was very nice and new. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff. The reason I gave a rating of 4 is because at breakfast they kept running out of dishes, there was no salt and pepper and the food was so-so, about what you expect for a free breakfast, nothing outstanding about the food.

All in all, my 18 day golf/vacation stay at this hotel was very nice. The most important things, such as room quality, comfort and cleanliness were very good. The staff was very helpfull, friendly and courteous, which is always a nice touch. The general area is nice, peaceful, clean, and it appeared to be in a safe neighborhood. The immediate area […] consists mostly of a business district, so there isn't much in the way of restaurants or entertainment close by. Possibly because of this, this hotel does seem to be a little more business oriented than family/vacation oriented. A couple of quibbles: 1) I only get my room serviced/cleaned every three or four days.... it's all I feel is necessary. However, twice the cleaning staff forgot to re-stock the toilet paper, and on one occasion I even had to ask for more to be delivered. I found that odd, considering the excellent job they did otherwise. 2) One gentleman at the front desk advised me that calls from the room to areas such as Buckeye, Maricopa and Queen Creek were considered to be local..... which is what they'd been for me at another hotel close by on a previous vacation. At the end of my stay I was advised that those were considered long distance calls and was asked to pay for them. Now in fairness to the hotel, when I explained the circumstances they cancelled all of these charges, but it is something they might want to look at in the future. 3) There's no Golf Channel!!! This is the second year in a row, in two different hotels in this immediate area, that the Golf Channel was not provided. Considering how huge golf is in the area, this totally boggles my mind. Again, something to think about. Okay, that's about it for the gripes. :-) The complimentary breakfasts and evening meals were excellent, with a nice variety of food and different themes. Very pleased with location, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The Breakfast was pleasant. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. There was no outside noise to disturb you.

Our two-room suite was very clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good, with plenty of variety. Having a kitchen is also great if you have small kids or just feel like eating in. Also, Monday through Thursday there is a free dinner, with complimentary beer or wine for the adults. Fantastic hotel, with great staff, great hot breakfast, decent free supper and happy hour. Our room was perfect for sleeping 7 people and close to major highways to get you wherever you want in a short time. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. Would definately stay here again.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Excellent service by the staff, the shuttle tooks us anywhere we wanted within 5 miles. The location is great, its close to AZ Mills as well as alot of entertainment. BEAUTIFUL STAFF, ESPECIALLY DOROTHY WHO RUNS THE FREE DINNERS AND TITUS AT THE FRONT DESK. COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER TO OUR LARGE FAMILY. ROOM WAS OUTSTANDING IN EVERY WAY. HAD 2 BR SUITE AND 2 BA ...POOL OUTSIDE CLEAN AND WILL STAY THERE AGAIN ON MY NEXT TRIP TO PHOENIX.

This hotel is great. The room is a nice size suite. The breakfast included several warm foods, and was great. The jacuzzi outside was perfect, even though I picked the one night in the year it hit 35 degrees in Phoenix. The night staff was great, and the bedding comfortable. This is a great place. This hotel is excellent very clean and close to many great places around the city, good breakfast and all day fresh fruit.

My biggest complaint is the surrounding neighborhood. There is just nothing there other than a few fast food places. No restaurant any where close. Also the selection on channels was poor on the tv. Very nice room though but given the circumstances of my visit u was not impressed.
