The overall stay was fine, but it surprised me that there was still a hotel of any ilk that did not provide its guest with wireless internet. Well, I found one. Get that remedied, and I will consider staying again.

Coffeemaker had no sliding door for the coffee. Therefore it was inoperable. Appeared to be a shortage of towels and had to come back to get them. Staff was cooperative and helpful.

I have stayed in several Hampton Inn's and I have never been disappointed, however, this property was an exception. All the various staff were especially freindly, and helpful. For example, one night I was talking on my cell phone while sitting in the front lobby around midnight, and began coughing. A young lady desk attendant came from behind the front […] desk with a cold bottle of water to help with my cough. I fouind it to be true of every staff member at this property. Mehr

My only complaint was my room was near the garage entrance and we can hear the loud noise from the door every time someone would enter or exit to their cars.

Loved the hotel would stay there again

Good rates, clean rooms, balconies facing the beach...good stuff. Would stay again any time.

It was very windy and while we were packing the car my son's coat flew off the luggage cart. It flew off the balcony and landed on the pool building of the hotel next door.!!!!! The wonderful guy at the Hampton Inn front desk named Abraham (Abe) came to our rescue. He quickly called the hotel next door and explained our dilemma. We got the coat back […] and were very relieved. We want to thank Abraham for being so nice about it and not making us feel completely stupid !!! Mehr

My family and I really enjoyed our visit at the Hampton/Oceanfront South in Virginia Beach, Va. We enjoyed a very nice hot breakfast buffet each morning. In addition to the breakfast being free, there was a lot of variety. We were able to park on the same level as our floor, which made it very easy to take our luggage back and forth. The staff at the Hampton Inn were helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and the location of the hotel is good. However, the beds were extremely hard; when many hotels offer pillowtop mattresses I am very surprised that the Hampton Inn has not upgraded their mattresses. We also found the height of the bathroom sink to be quite high and we are not […] short people (5'5" & 5'9"); for families with children I hope they are given booster steps. I would return to Virginia Beach area, but not the Hampton Inn unless the mattresses were upgraded. Mehr

Very nice hotel with close access to the beach. Rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I wish they had was more storage space for our things. I would stay there again.

The oceanfront view from the balcony is stunning. You can see the dolphins jumping in the water from the balcony. Centrally located. Easy free parking that is easily accessible from the hotel elevator. Great for traveling with a family. Free breakfast with plenty of choices including waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, bagels, cereal, etc. Free coffee […] is available 24 hours a day. Very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated rooms. Considering the week we chose to stay in Virginia Beach There was an Earth Quake and Hurricane Irene was to arrive. We had a wonderful time from start to finish.. Once we arrived at the hotel we were very pleased with the service as well as the beautiful room. It was very clean and the bed was more comfortable than mine at home. The breakfast buffet […] they served every morning was fantastic. Everyday something different to choose from and the never ending availability of coffee 24 hours a day was loved. The hotel was located in a good area. Within walking distance to everything. Unfortunately we had to leave a day earlier than planned due to the arrival the next day of Hurricane Irene. They were very accommodating when we asked to cancel the last day of our reservation. It was done with out any problems and our money was refunded right away. Stayed two nights & have no complaints, Staff very attentive and polite...assisted us with area attractions and our every need. Very clean and comfortable-beautiful oceanfront view.

What a wonderful place to holiday. My wife and I were delighted in all respects. The location and view were outstanding.....best we've ever experienced in our 57 years. The front desk staff, especially Bambi and Nathan, were the best! More Canadians should explore this area of the world and this hotel. We are going to try our best to come back soon […] . Mehr

The Hampton Inn in south Virginia Beach was great! My family and I had a great time. The staff was very accommedating and helpful. Would go back there again.

We took our 4 grandchildren ages 8 thru 16, it was a great place very family oriented. The rooms were clean, and all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The grandkids expressed it simply, clean,comfy beds and grat place to stay. Will use again and tell friends about it.

Negative: Did not change bed sheets for one week. Room was cleaned too late every day (at 4 pm). Fresh towels were scarce. Did not provide beach towels. Daily Breakfast was horrible. Did not change a $100 traveller cheque. Front desk was not acomodating as they did not offer options when they could not help. Positive: View on the ocean was great. Cleaning […] staff very friendly. Loved the hotel - only complaint is we wished they had an outside pool

The stay was great, the staff were A1.Clean room. The breakfast is just ok.but since it is include in the price you can't expect much better .

We loved The Hampton Inn VA Beach! It was beautiful. The view was amazing. Being right on the beach was a huge plus. We loved the breakfast. We just loved everything about it. We can't wait to go again next year, same hotel, same beach. It was amazing.

When we first arrived and entered the room on the 2nd floor we approched the balcony and was overlooking a roof top to the resturant below. I then tried to use my cell phone and had NO signal which has never happened before. I went to the front desk and explained my disappointment for spending a lot of money on a disappointing room. Clerk was very rude […] and uncaring, told me that the first several floors did not get cell phone signal and they may have another room the next day and to check back. I checked back the next morning and was told by another semi-rude clerk that there were no other rooms. While doing so 2 other people were checking out and she was still telling me that I couldn't have theirs because they were for others checking in. I explained again that I spent a lot of money and did not want to look at a roof top and I needed cell phone service and I was going to check out and go somewhere else if something couldn't be done. Another clerk overheard and said she understood and within 3 hrs had another room for me. If it were not for the 3rd clerk helping me and being kind I would have been checking out early. The other disappointment was no wireless internet in the rooms, only in the lobby!! Breakfast was good.........hot and cold food. Room was clean and average. Mehr

We are looking forward to another stay at this hotel. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast. Close to everything. A+ for the employees. Only down was the tiny pool. We will definetlycome back.

May husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. The garage parking was excellent and just outside our door. Our favorite part was the free breakfast which had lots of choices including omelets. Not many free breakfast have such variety of chooses and good tasting selections. Would stay again […] . Mehr

At the last moment we decided to it was worth the long drive from Toronto to evade a cruel winter who insisted to discredit the groundhog’s reputation. 1200 kilometers in the limited comfort of my Civic require an equal dose of pampering luxury, especially when the whole adventure is only a 3 day getaway. Hotel was beautiful and in great shape. We were very disappointed in hotel staff. Check in desk was not very friendly. Room was very comfortable, but not clean! Found multiple hairs in the bathroom, especially in the shower.. Yuck!!

Due to a family dinner at our home, we arrived quite late on Thanksgiving, but were quickly registered and then given a great tour of the facilities and what and when was available to us, pertaining to the free breakfast and the coffee and hot chocolate provided in the lobby 24 hrs. a day. We only bought an order of nachos from the restaurant that is […] downstairs, but it was a very large order and very tasty. All and all, it is a pleasant place to stay. Only a couple of negatives, --scuffs all over the walls, and maids that can't speak English. Mehr

The hotel is new (2009) well maintained and well staffed with all ocean front rooms. The service was outstanding by all employees. Many superior restaurants are nearby. The Tap House located in the hotel is a fun "sports bar" restaurant.

Everything was great. The staff even went out of their way to find a room for my daughter and son in law who were not satisfied with their accomadations. Great location. Very relaxing!!!!
