The Rusland Pool hotel was a very good choice. We arrived late in the evening but it wasn't a problem - the receptionist even made sandwiches for us despite the kitchen being closed. Could not fault this hotel on anything. Easy to find. Spacious very clean rooms. Staff very friendly and so helpful. I stayed there for 2 nights at the beginning of August. i used this hotel as a base for a work location nearby. I opted to dine at the hotel in the evening the food was of a reasonable standard, ranging from very tasty to adequate.The room I stayted in was a decent size and the shower was really good. The downside was that the bed was a little too firm […] for me and there is a lack of wireless internet in all of the rooms. I had a nice cooked breakfast before I left and this was good. Over all a nice hotel with very pleasant hosts, who ensure your comfort is top priority. But lacks in some small areas. Apparently people come for the toaster. I would have taken it home if I could have carried it! Our room had a wetroom in the bathroom which was hyper-efficient. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.

searched the internet for a quiet switch off weekend, very glad we settled on the rusland poole hotel. what a nice find!!!!! the owners and ALL of the staff could not have been more helpful, had a really loveley weekend, the bed was rather comfy, and would definately go there again. nipped off to the small town of ulverston which had some quaint shops. […] then along to newby bridge, and then onto bowness on windermere, had a lovely afternoon there, The food at the rusland poole was fab, everything we ordered all weekend was lovely, well presented, and tasty, (loved the lakeland butter) the owners even gave me half a duck when my choice was off the menu, it was beautiful, compliments to the chef!!!!! Booked last minute for a Cycle Event in Coniston. Location good - nice views over countryside, on side of a main road, but you don't hear it. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, without exception. They accommodated our late arrival (10:30pm) without qualm. The hotel was great value, especially considering it was Easter weekend - in the end we decided to stay for one night longer than planned. Lovely hotel in an excellent location. 20 min rive to Coniston Lake and 5 min drive to the old steam railway train link to Lake Windemere ( or 30 min drive) Steam train link fantastic to do a full cruise on the lake (£15 return trip on steam train and all day hop on hop off cruise boat and only 5 min away !!) My room, which had a view of the hills and a door leading onto a patio facing East, had everything in it required for a comfortable stay. What a wonderfully charming hotel set in a wonderful part of the UK. The hotel itself is nothing flash but what they have is exceptionally well maintained and run and the team are superb. we had a lovely stay at the Rusland Pool- we were given a 4 poster bedroom, which was clean and extremely comfortable. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel. The food was good both at breakfast and in the evening. When I mentioned about the mattress being hard for me, this was rectified while we were out. We will certainly return to this hotel
