Did not like the fact that I had to pay $10 to park in Hotel lot. When checking in I did not feel I was very important, receptionist stopped checking me in, after I had been waiting for someone else to finish checking in, and talked with another employee apparently clocking out and leaving for the evening. So I had to wait until they finished talking […] to finish checking in. The AC in the room sounded like there was a motorcycle idling in it. Other than that the room was nice. Mehr

My only complaint would be a note about parking, which costs $10/night but is fairly limited - when we returned to the hotel late at night, there was no more room for our car in the lot. There was some street parking nearby and the front desk attendant did not charge us for the $10, but it still added a little challenge to our stay.

We had a great stay at this hotel we arrived very late due to stuff with kids but once we arrived we were greeted very openly and were immediately impressed with our suite. You're also close to great places to eat and my favorite which is the Pancake House. Overall good stay!

Very nice hotel. Also it's close to the nightlife area.

Great location ! Within walking distance of Southside Restaurants !

We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway - in from Atlanta. The hotel is 3 blocks from Five Points - which is a great, fun spot if you like bars, good food, live music, and karoake (Be sure to say Hello to Joe and Q at the Oyster House for us!) I enjoyed my stay at this hotel...it was walking distance to 5 points and other nightclubs straight and gay. I would highly recommend staying at this Hotel.

I usually dont write reviews but I felt compelled to after my stay at the hotel. From when I first arrived the service was excellent, check in was fast and painless. The room was beyond my expectation, it looked brand new, the decor was warm and inviting, the TV was great, the kitchen was fully stocked with what I needed, forks knives, plates, ect.. […] The only thing I didnt like is that there wasnt an ice maker anywhere in the hotel. I called the desk and they had a bag brought to me, its little things like that which make the difference in a stay. Attention to detail was key and the staff is obviously well trained. The breakfast was great too, hot waffles, eggs, toast/bagels sausage, milk, orange juice and apple juice. They also had cereals, yogurt fresh coffee and some assorted breads. The room was cleaned while we went to the game and ready for bed when we returned. Overall it was a great stay, you would have to be a snob not to like this place. Its only a couple of blocks from five points, we walked to dinner, its a nice safe area with a good police presence, there were officers on bikes and walking around the area. I was very comfortable just being out with the family. Bottom Line......stay here if you get the chance. Mehr

Husband & I really enjoyed our stay at Residence Inn Downtown Birmingham. Great location, short interstate ride to shopping, good local restaurants. Our room was the cleanest we've stayed in among all other chains. We would definitely stay again next year!!!

Location is everything and this facility is near shopping, eateries,nightlife, a major medical facility and numerous cultural attractions. The major arteries and highways are equally close if you want to branch out and venture to places like Homewood, Mountainbrook or my favorite place The Summit Mall. The staff were very professional, accomodating […] and efficient especially with the check in. I think they do a good job with the complimentary breakfast from selections to replenishing the foodstuff.The room (504) was immaculate and if I had a complaint it would be that the bed needed a pillow top mattress for a more comfortable nights rest. We go to B'Ham every year for the Magic City Classic and normally we have stayed at another chain hotel off Lakeshore Drive because we fell in love with it years ago. I was late with our booking this year and opted to stay closer to the stadium because the above hotel was completely sold out. I now have two great places to stay when we make the trip.Thanks to the terrific people at Residence Inn. The valet guys by the way were also impressive and never a long wait for your car which I really liked!!! SouthernBelle05 Mehr

The hotel was excellent from the valet attendents to the front desk staff. They were friendly and always had a smile when I saw them. The hotel is located close to the area that I was attending my event and the staff was helpful when asking for directions to different areas of town. I will be staying there again on my next visit in December.

Everything I was looking for in accommodations were found at RI by Marriot UAB. Courteous staff, clean and modern rooms, plus all the amenities.

This hotel was awesome. Huge room with full kitchen. Access to a sunny pool and fitness center. I wish I could have stayed longer but was only there for the night. When it was time to leave, they even had a computer with free printing so I could get directions home.

Extremely good location with convenient restarurants and travel to sightseeing area.

When you get their, if you booked online it tells you nothing about the hotel not having parking, and that you have to PAY to park. Also it was a non smoking hotel however certain guests still smoked and that policy was not inforced. The room was nice and clean, its not a "family" room but its great for a single person or a couple. Seeing that I don't […] travel to Alabama much, that was most likely the best hotel in that area.
