"Gutes Hotel in guter Lage"

"Sooo disappointed"
The actually building was adequate but the hotel itself is run like a bad college dorm just will older people. The hotel is packed and there is nothing about the hotel that is relaxing. I am also not sure where the guests at the hotel come from or learned their manners but the hotel appears to promote this level of guests and the service they have to […] provide. Everyone pushed there way on the elevator, grabs food, towels and line up for food in the dinning room as if they have never been feed. The tables are never cleaned and there are pigeons everyone grabbing food off plates and then pooping all over the every table and chairs. Do yourself a favor and skip the dead sea if you have to stay here. Mehr
"Old and needs refurbishing"
While they do what they can to keep the hotel clean, it looks like it wasn't renovated since the 70's. Everything is run down. The room is small. We came with two kids and when they unfolded the 3rd bed there was no room at all to move around in the room. The quality of services for the price we paid is much lower than anything we would get for this […] price in the US. However, I don't think you can get anything better in Ein Bokek. There is a limited number of hotels and a lot of demand. So I would say that if you are looking to save some money, it's ok to stay in this hotel vs. the ones that are more expensive as I don't think they will be much better than this one. Mehr
"Not amazing, but not bad either"
This is a mediocre hotel. I've heard some bad stories about other hotels in the area: nothing bad to say here, except the facilities are less than amazing. Location is convenient and if you don't intend to spend too much time in the hotel other than sleep and shower, this is the place for you.
"Daniel Dead Sea"
For a dynamic 87-year-old (who was out walking by 7 a.m.) and her younger companion, the hotel itself was just right for a mid-week break in the dead of winter. Although the Daniel is large and was quite full, there were (happily) almost no screaming families or cellphoners, and no loud music blaring in the lobby. The food - typically plentiful Israeli […] breakfast - was not fabulous (surprisingly there was little fresh fruit, and the breads were mediocre), but more than adequate. Similarly, our pasta supper in the lobby made up in quantity what it lacked in quality. The small luxuries of a 5-star hotel were missing (like really plush towels/robes), and the TV channels seemed to have no relationship to the printed list in the room. In any case most of them were in Russian, which is nice if you want to see a Ukrainian soap opera but not if you want the news in English. Ditto the spa staff -- mostly Russian-speaking, and they could use some advanced training. The person giving me the mud wrap might just as well have been scrubbing a car, and the manicurist attacked my fingers with the gentleness of a marauding Cossack. Fortunately the masseuse was a sweetie who tried her best (with "diplomas" from Russia, Israel, Sweden, Germany and China!), and largely succeeded. If you want to do any treatments, try to find someone at the spa who's already done them and ask for a personal recommendation. The series of pools in the spa were wonderful (and usually not crowded) except for the fact that the "heated" Dead Sea pool was not even lukewarm on the second day, a real disappointment (they said it was a temporary problem but it hadn't been overcome by late afternoon). Despite the shortcomings, the price was right (apparently a discounted rate via Hotel.com), and we would return to the Daniel for a quiet winter or summer break from the hills of Jerusalem. Mehr
"Danel Dead Sea Disaster!!!"
The service at this hotel was awful. Only three employees actually stood out and helped. One was the front desk manager. This other was Abas in the restaurant area. The nightime food service person was also excellent. Staff was otherwise rude and dismissive in every section of the hotel. We waited hours for basic services. The hotel restaurant and communal […] breakfast/dinner area was dirty. The food was substandard at best. In fact, my husband and I went to the neighboring Isrotel too eat - it is too bad that I did not stay there. The spa floor was not kept clean and was always slippery. In addition the water was cold. When we asked for assistance or complained no one helped - in fact we could not speak to the general manager. After being promised that he would call he never did. My husband and I will never stay there again. Neither will his parents and another couple who came with us. The verdict was unanimous that this hotel was substandard - expecially given its relatively high cost. Mehr

"Great food, clean hotel"
The Carousel buffet was excellent for Dinner and Breakfast. The hotel, pool and Spa are extremely clean and nice. However, the staff could be more attentive. The big issue though was their inability to effectively handle emergencies. While I was there a guest had to be taken by ambulance tot he hospital. They evacuated all the floors and made everyone […] stand in the lobby, hundred's of people. They did not provide water for more than an hour. Worst of all this happened at around 5pm... They did not open their restaurants! If I could have just eaten through this issue it would not have bothered me. Mehr

"Nice hotel and good service from hotels.com"
Hotel.com personell were very helpful in changing the reservation. Hotel was nice except that for a kosher hotel they should not have jewish workers writing down the diners entering the dining room
"the daniel at the dead sea"
I was very disappointed with the hotel, very dirty, service was not good, food was not good, overall i will never go back and not recommend to anyone.
"Daniel Hotel - Dead Sea"

"Nice place and good base for Dead Sea Area"
We spent a night in early May. The hotel appears to have been updated lately, and the room was a large mini-suite in excellent condition with nice furniture, room safe, and a great view. The place appears to attract older Russian-Israelis who are looking for a few days of food sun, and mineral baths. We didn't try the spa treatments or salt pool. The […] hotel has a great freshwater outdoor pool as well, and I enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and happy. The typical Israeli hotel breakfast was good and enough to hold you to dinner. Outside bar service was slow and amateur, but a complaint produced instant management response. We enjoyed our brief stay. Mehr

"Daniel Hotel Dead Sea"
Good location. Beach for Dead Sea down the hill and across the street. They have a golf cart type shuttle. You can walk to other hotels and some shops. Nice lobby and rooms. Very nice breakfast.
"good property, untrained employees"
The rooms are fine, the hotel is very clean, has bowling, a couple of bars, nice music in the evening in the lobby. Concierge service is absent, there is a guy but he has neither printouts with bus schedule nor a map to give directions. Huge line upon checkout. It might be common for all Ein Bokek hotels right now that they cater to tours which usually […] results in degradation of service. I expect this will get worse as Israel relaxes visa requirements for more countries and there will be more tours. Mehr
Generally convenient and comfortable. The only small reservation is that we were assured that left luggage room would be locked, but when we returned for the luggage we simply walked into the room and removed it. There was no control and no bellboy was ever around.
The room exceeded all expectations (living room, bedroom and bath). The price for one night was reasonable.
"hotel Daniel the Dead sea Israel"
everything was perfect except of the hotel beach which was in bad condition , required improvement
"Daniel Dead Sea"
Excellent room - clean, modern, new, sleek. The hotel decor is great overall. The hotel is overrun with families and children. Kids are running around everywhere and they are LOUD and ANNOYING. If you get a room with a balcony facing the pool, you will hear LOUD music from the pool area (as well as children screaming) for as long as the pool is open. […] If you are looking for a romantic getaway as we were, do not go here. Mehr
"Daniel Dead Sea-Beautiful"
Check-in was slow as there was only one employee at the front desk. When we arrived to our room we immediately noticed that there was a water leak from the ac onto the entry floor. We went to the front desk and the same employee asked us to wait at our room for a maintenance worker. After waiting almost 20 minutes, we returned to the desk and requested […] another room as no maintenance worker showed up. We were given another room after about a 15 minute wait for confirmation of a clean and ready room. Once we arrived at our next room, all was well. It was a clean and very comfortable room with a nice view of the Dead Sea from the balcony. This was our 4th visit to the Dead Sea in just as many hotel choices. The only down side to this location is that it is across the street from the beach. This isn't a very large downside as it is a very easy walk or cart ride away. The hotel beach has showers, chairs, umbrellas and a drinking fountain. This beach closed too early in the evening for our liking, but, the public beach is directly next to it and it has showers as well. The hotel pool also closes way too early for summer time. They explained to us that it is because they only contract with a lifeguard until 6:30pm. It is too bad, because the best swimming is in the evening in the summertime. The breakfast buffet was good. Just a typical hotel breakfast buffet with many choices. We never tried dinner here. There was a restaurant across the street with outdoor seating that was more appealling. Don't count on this restaurant unless you check first. One evening, they were closed except for a tour bus load of people. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others. It was very clean, modern and beautiful. It was also very empty for the summertime. As we have stayed at 3 other hotels at the Dead Sea during the summer, we appreciated the small crowd as most others get overwhelmingly loud and crowded. This was a very large hotel, I'm not sure why it was so empty. We would definate Mehr

"Hotel Daniel Dead Sea"
