Empfehlenswertes Apparthotel inmitten einer grosszügigen Gartenanlage mit schönen Pools und mehreren 'Hot Tubes' direkt am Meer. unglaubliches hotel: riesige zimmer, sauber, wunderschöne hotelanlage, direkt am sandstrand, super service und gutes restaurant am strand. einzig die lage ist ziemlich abseits, ich empfehle ein auto. war einer der schönsten aufenthalte die ich je erlebt habe.

We stayed at the resort for 8 days in April. There were 5 of us including Mom, Dad, 10, 8 and 1 year old boys. The two bedroom free upgrade was perfect. We loved having our breakfast, lunch and diner out on the lanai. The large "play lawn" at the Hokulani tower was great for the older boys to play on. They loved going down there with dad after a meal […] to play football or soccer while mom and baby watched from the lanai. The pools are very nice with the water being the perfect temperature all of us went for swims everyday. Housekeeping was done daily and all the supplies for the laundry and dish washer were re-stocked as needed (or more). Great stay - hotel has great location on Kaanapali. Quiet and relaxing. Great flavored water in lobby!

My family had a wonderful stay at Honua Kai. The quality, cleanliness and service were outstanding. I highly recommend Honua Kai. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the staff were extremely helpful and service oriented.

You should not be allowed to call your hotel a hotel and spa if there is no spa. Very disappointing.

Staff was great. They gave us a free upgrade from a studio to a 2 bedroom/2 bath due to their availability. Condo was great. Our only complaint was that the shower was quite mildewy. Highly recommend they have an adults only pool

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The rooms are amazing and the staff is very friendly. Only minus is that it can be a bit noisy by the pool due to all kids. Stay there if you are going to Maui!! Bon voyage!

Just got back from a great trip to Maui and have to say this is a great hotel and I would highly recommend it. We stayed in a one bedroom Mt. View, and although it would have been nice to have a better view, it wasn't bad at all. The only thing was the road noise when sitting on the patio, still not bad but noticeable. We spent only 4 nights on Maui, the first 2 at another hotel and the second 2 at Honua Kai. It was definitely an upgrade going to Honua Kai from our first accommodation (but that one was nice too). The grounds are vast and beautiful giving an inviting first impression. The room was clean, spacious and high class looking. There were significantly more […] kids/families at this resort than the previous one we stayed at, but it is a very family oriented place with several pools and a water slide. The restaurant on site, Duke's, has good food with reasonable prices. There is also a strip mall across the street with a grocery store, Bob's Snorkel (which is much less expensive than renting it from the hotel) and a few other shops, which adds convenience. This facility is the example of how every resort should be. Top of the line appliances, top of the line small appliances, great house keeping. The grounds are kept perfectly. We loved our stay at Honua Kai Resort. The room, property, amenities, service, etc. were are great.

Pros: on the beach Duke's on property clean new rooms great organic market nice staff at pool generous supply of coffee & filters free detergent/laundry soap Cons: maid service should be called 'tidy' only. Stayed there 9 days and they never once vacuumed or cleaned counter top. Only made bed & refreshed towels children's pool is extremely dark bottom, […] so hard to see if you child goes under water--dangerous to me windy region of Maui...it was so windy 5 days that I couldn't keep my hat on my head or my book pages from flying There is no spa The workout room does not have air-conditioning!!!! It was our second visit to the resort and it was exactly what we had expected; clean rooms and friendly staff. There are a few pools to choose from, great for kids and adults alike. Children are allowed to feed the fish in the pond each morning (with fish food handed out by the staff), which was the cherry on top for my kids. The attached Aina market […] offers delicious coffee, snacks and meals. Duke's Beachhouse Restaurant is steps away by the waterfront and offers good food, good service and is an excellent location to view the sunset. The only thing I wish was that they would provide complimentary in-room coffee each day, or at least every 2 days. It was only complimentary on the first day and we were there for 9! Our friends were there for 16 nights and only got coffee the first day. Instead, we got 2 packages of laundry soap each day, which we did not need, and would've been glad to exchange all 18 packages for even 1 pouch of coffee. Coffee aside, it is a great place to stay, short drive to groceries, Sugar Cane Train and Lahaina. Full kitchen is well equipped and overall this resort provides great value for the price! Mehr

This was the most amazing hotel stay I have ever had. Beautiful buildings, well-manicured grounds, great amenities and the food at the on-site restaurant was even great. Every employee gave us an Aloha and a smile. It was perfect.

We rented the room based on it being an actual direct ocean view. What we got was a room at the back of the interior building that had a view only if you stood on the lanai and looked sideways. I specifically asked at the time of booking if this was a direct ocean view and was informed that it would be. My husband and I booked a studio room very spacious and comfortable was on the 3rd floor only problem couldn't see the water view because palm tree was in front of view otherwise nice large balcony to sit out on spared no expense with room detail, extremely happy with overall resort except for 4pm check in arrived at 2pm when waiting for our room sitting […] in eye contact with reception they said would let us know when our room was ready would ring my mobile when we aproached them at 4.15pm they said my mobile didn't answer which was untrue...could of made an effort to walk over or even call out. Our stay at the Honua Kai Resort was excellent. We booked a studio with plenty of space for the two of us. The listing stated a partial ocean view and that was indeed correct. From the third floor we could sit on the patio, which completely opened up to the room, to enjoy a good read and glass of wine. The appliances were BOSCH and nearly brand-new; […] everything worked great. Also, for a night in, the room even contained a LG Blu-Ray player. Dukes is right on the beach and attached to the hotel, a 2 min walk! Also, there is a boardwalk you can take to along the beach to other hotels. Overall, our experience was far better then what we expected. We wanted the touch of a resort style hotel but with the ability to cook if we wanted to. The built in BOSCH washer and dryer meant we could pack less and do laundry. The cons I can think of would be the $25.00 resort fee. Yes, free self and valet parking but what else is the resort fee for? The two towels? Also, the beech in front of the hotel has a large amount of coral right as you go out; simply proceed with caution. If kids bother you then you may want to look elsewhere. The pool area was filled with families and children, as this is a family friendly hotel. Mehr

The Honua Kai exceeded my whole families expectations. The two bedroom suite was huge. The furnishings and finishes were lovely (and I am an interior designer) There was nothing missing, from the wine opener to the martini glasses to the washer and dryer. Both bathrooms had separate tubs and showers and double vanities. The TV's were high quality and […] the deck was huge and well furnished. The grounds were beautiful and after walking through a few of the adjacent resorts, the pool area was the best of the bunch. The lounge chairs meander around freeform pools, not lined up in row after row. It really felt exclusive and private. The gym was well equipped and the concierges were very helpful. Very happy with this hotel. LOVED our room. The grounds are wonderful, the pools are very family friendly, shallow so you don't have to worry about your kids. Beach is very narrow and you have to rent any kind of chairs or umbrellas. That was the most disappointing.But we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at this resort. It was fantastic! The only downside was too many kids -would have been nice if they had an adult only pool or adult only hot tub. Other than that we would highly recommend this gorgeous resort! Great room with kitchen and a grocery store across the street.

My husband, friends and I spent about 4 nights in Honua Kai. We loved our room: everything was super clean and lovely. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We didn't want to leave! We highly recommend Honua Kai to anyone who wants to stay in a luxury hotel resort with excellent friendly service.

Pros: The hotel was exceptional, the staff courteous, and helpful, and the amenities were wonderful. Cons: The contracted cleaning service for the hotel left much to be desired during our 10 day stay. In part due to the fact that as we don't travel much, and don't stay in one place for more than 2 days generally, we did not realize that the cleaning […] service expects a gratuity to sustain minimal upkeep of your room. Hygiene supplies, detergent, towels etc were not restocked as a means of effectively extorting a tip from us in order to get a bare minimal level of service. Mehr

The hotel itself was clean and staff was very friendly. Activity desk was very knowledgeable and helpful. Was very impressed by the Aina cafe on site, however found Dukes food to be a little greasy. Only complaints about the room were there were no robes, and the bathroom we happened to get was extremely small. Great location, great room, great views. One caution - either go for full oceanview room and pay for it or don't go at all for oceanview - don't go for Partial ocean view room because for partial - u go outside the balcony and then u see the ocean.

We can't say enough good things about this resort hotel. We will undoubtedly stay here again and highly recommend this place to all our friends & family. Huge, clean and comfortable rooms with modern decor and high-end amenities. Great bathrooms and kitchen with plenty of space. Washing machines were very convenient for washing our beach clothes and […] meant that we could get laundry done before going home. They even provide the detergent for you! The beaches direclty behind the hotel had great snorkeling, and there were plenty of small pools which meant less crowding and a chance to have some poolside privacy. We loved that the beaches behind the hotel and general location of this resort weren't nearly as crowded as all the other beaches/hotels we saw between Kaanapali and Lahaina. Staff was friendly and helpful -- always got service with an "Aloha" and a smile. Stay here, you won't regret it! Our suite was beautiful-- furnishings appeared to be new, modern, plush, and expertly decorated. The full kitchen with granite countertops is fantastic-- I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

Amazing hotel. Basically a condo type room with full kitchen and small appliances and includes an in room washer and dryer. Beach was nice and not crowded, but you may want to bring water shoes since there are a bunch of rocks close to shore. Overall, very nice hotel and would definitely stay there again!

When I first began honeymoon preparations, I had some set ground rules: take my new wife to the most beautiful & tropical location I could think of, and make sure the accommodations were affordable, pleasant, and fun. I got all of that in Maui, much in thanks to the fantastic hotel called Honua Kai and its excellent staff. I did my homework when researching […] places to go: Maui itself, a lush and tropical paradise, was a given. It was mainly _where_ in Maui to go that was the question. I looked at every hotel in the area that was a 4-star and higher and looked into price, other user reviews, accomodations, proximity to beach areas, and a personal touch to make the start of my marriage a shining one: an excellent view of the sunset. Price. Now I am not a rich individual -- I had a set budget and needed the price to be accommodating, which put some of the more opulent resorts like the Hyatt and Four Seasons out of my reach. Honua Kai, however, has a deal where if you stay for five nights, the fifth night was free, which helped matters considerably right from the start. Accomodations. Let me just say, the rooms are PERFECT. The decor is lovely and perfectly maintained, the whole place has an island feel without going overboard. And as we were lucky enough to get a room with a kitchen, it was fully stocked with beautiful countertops and great appliances (though you may want to research how to use a Cuisinart drip coffee maker in advance, I had to look up its instructions). Plus the giant wall-sized windows overlooking the outside made the whole place feel spacious and open. The pool areas outside were comfortable and warm, and the landscaping was maintained pristinely. And the beach, with its warm water (day or night, it's always comfortable) is right outside -- the only concern about the beach area is that there are some steep drop-offs and sharp coral not too far out into the water, so watch your feet as you go; if you walk a little farther south down the beach thoug Mehr

This September there were a few more guests compared to last year. We noticed more families with small children at the pool. The Honua Kai continue to be our favorite hotel on Maui.

While some of the kitchen ware was dirty and had to be washed overall everthing was clean. Beautiful garden view patio, hugh folding doors that open the entire length of window. Large table and chairs for outside dinning. High bath products. Highspeed and wifi internet. Close to town and right on the beach. Need water shoes to enter water, some rocks. […] Close walk to another beach with sandy area. Reef starts close to shore. Great snorkeling. Mehr

Place was very nice. Beautiful sunsets. Great location. Great trail that you can walk to all the other hotels and restruarants along the corridor. Close to black rock for snorkeling. Easy to "happy hour" hop to other resorts. Room was very nice, beds very comfortable. We had a one bedroom place. Only suggestions is that there is not much lighting in […] the room, especially the bathroom and that you had to walk out of the bedroom and around to get to bathroom. We loved the room. Didn't have a great view but room was very comfortable and we often came up to the room for short breaks. The pools were also great, very beautiful areas although you can't see the beach from it all that well. You do need to drive everywhere, but just short drives. 5-10 minutes to Lahaina, 20 min to Kapalua etc. Once you get familiar […] with the area and the highway it's easy. Would recommend to friends. We booked this place at the last minute and were pleasantly suprised! What a beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and perfect location. I would recommend this hotel more for famalies, but there was just the two of us and we still enjoyed it very much. Dukes restaurant on site is fantastic- a little pricey, but hey it is Maui. The convience of having a full […] kitchen, washer and dryer was a huge plus. There is also a grocery store right across the street that you can easily walk to stock up on your groceries. My wife and I were visiting Maui for the first time. Honua Kai was just perfect. The concierge was super helpful and booked several great outings for us, and we later found out that she was acting the lead in a local theater company. It was a great privilege to get to see such high caliber of talent and entertainment while visiting Maui. Who knew :) […] . The hotel is a short drive to other areas of interest on the island. We truley enjoyed our visit. We would stay here again. Mehr

We loved our five day stay in Maui at the Honua Kai Resort. Honua Kai is closer to amenities than we were lead to believe - not far from the Whalers shopping centre surrounded by other hotels and just a short car ride into Lahaina which is a beautiful quaint little town with lots of interesting shops. We had a fabulous unit which we were upgraded to […] - our party of three then had one bedroom as well as a den off the lounge where our daughter slept. The beds are so comfy, the bathroom very spacious and modern and the kitchen/living/lounge were immaculate (3 Televisions in total). Also great to have a laundry in the unit. A great lanai looking out to the swimming pools and ocean. Housekeeping service excellent. The pools and spas/jacuzzis were just amazing and plenty of room and lounge chairs for everyone. A lot of families with young children but plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Front desk and valet staff went out of their way to help us at all times. The bakery shop was excellent and had everything you could possibly want. Plenty of free parking on site. Dukes restaurant had a great atmosphere but the food quality was a little disappointing. Staff great though. It was very windy while we were there and we believe it always is but hey if it wasn't windy it would have been very hot, so we enjoyed having a breeze. We thought the beach was good too but you had to be careful of rocks and coral. We can totally see why Honua Kai has a very high rating and is a popular place to stay. A wonderful place to stay.

you can read what you want about this property but until you are there, you really don't get the full appreciation for how detailed this is for comfort, cleanliness and all around kindness. this is everything i hoped it would be, and then some. our 10 year old granddaughter was completely occupied and as a result, so were her grandparents.

We had a very pleasant stay at the resort. The tower we stayed in was the newer one and this was reflected in the quality of the room etc. Staff were helpful and pleasent to deal with.

We stayed at this hotel for six nights in May of 2011. Bottom line, it was perfect. Rooms are high-end, staff is extremely helpful, activity booking was great (compared to the scams in LaHaina booths), grounds are kept meticulously - was the best experience I've had in Maui over the past 10 years.

We stayed for 10 days and just fell in love with the pools and the great service. The concierge desk was extremely helpfull and happy to be able to send us in the right directions with meals and kid freindly activities. The hotel was very clean and modern.
