La Coperta Ricamata - Siena

This is a little jewel away from the bustle of the crowds that is not far at all from the bus station or the heart of the town. It's clean, cute, romantic, nicely decorated and has a very good bathroom. The room was very large and had nice tall windows with blinds and thin curtains. We always went to the southern part of the town where the activity is, but we did venture to the north (across the street) and we found a Siena that was more Italian and less touristy and also many more good restaurants. The hotel is very close, perhaps just 5 -10 minutes walk away from the centre of town, so ideal for sight-seeing. Parking however is a nightmare. We were lucky to find a parking spot in the adjacent road which gave us free parking overnight but, we had to move the car by 07.30am as the road would then be cleaned. Although I drove the car back to the […] B&B and parked it inside the grounds, within a minute I was told by the landlady that I couldn't park it there and that the police could come round to check. She was very concerned about any breach of regulations. The only other option would be to park in a public car-park which would be quite expensive and not at all close to the accommodation. We would then however have to carry our luggage to and from the car to the accommodation which would be very inconvenient. The house is surrounded by construction works which we were't disturbed by only because we arrived late at night and left early in the morning, but this could be a problem if you were staying there during the day. The furniture was skimpy, basic really, with a tiny old-style TV which I didn't think people had nowadays. A second hand flat screen TV would have cost next to nothing and would have made a big difference. There was a small table in the room which we were expected to eat our breakfast on. Breakfast was laid out in the corridor, precisely at 7.30. The residents came out in their bedclothes to collect what was on offer, which by any stretch of the imagination wasn't very much, trying to avoid one another's presence and gaze. The edge of the shower tray was just a few inches high which meant that water sloshed on to the floor and showers were taken with the flimsy screen sticking to your body like they used to in the olden days. Very nice place with nice owner! Small but healthy breakfast you had in your room. OK. Park in the parking house close to the B&B. It is forbidden to drive into the town....

This was a very nice B & B. The room was charming, the owner was very nice and the walk to the Campo was 10 minutes. In town, we took a bus to San Gimignano. This would be the perfect spot to stay if visiting other Tuscany towns.

This b&b was about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Siena (which works off some of the gelato!). It was a nice room with a very spacious bathroom. The only downfall was the breakfast which was set out as a "first come first serve". I heard other guest say there was nothing left by the time they woke up.

Petit hôtel très sympathique avec un joli jardin devant, à proximité de la vieille ville. Chambre aménagée avec goût, grande salle de bain avec une grande fenêtre, tout d'une propreté irréprochable. Propriétaire Luciana très accueillante et serviable. Séjour sans aucune fausse note. Nous espérons revenir !
